my theory for the colossus being direct fire is that it can just fire at such a rediculously long range that to fire at things on the board it needs to aim directly at it.
That is the plan indeed. I was going through the lists and yeah dark eldar is 3 current and 1 ledgend so I can really give them their own video. Not sure what i'm gonna do with sisters of battle but i'll work something out.
Ok here’s mine S: demolisher, exterminator, dorn. A: chimera, taurox prime, malcador. B: vanquisher, battle cannon, hellhound, executioner C: Punisher, hydra, eradicator, praetor, crassus D: colossus, taurox, macharius Reasoning for changes: Dorn (S) massive fire power for the points and has the durability to back it up. Battle cannon(B) held back by low AP and strength on weapon. It kinda meh at both infantry killing. Not enough AP for big stuff, not enough attack for chaff hoards, not enough AP to take down heavy infnatry because heavy infantry means space marines and they have a 3+ save. Hellhound(B) the chem cannon is good against heavy infantry but to niche having only one good target. Other two guns aren’t worth it especially melta. Punisher (C) gun is completely useless against big targets and the gun frequently isn’t good enough at its job to wipe out infantry units. Hydra(C): gun is ok, durability is bad and flyers are rare. Eradicator(C) gun is bad against everything but it isn’t even that good against infantry. Praetor(C) the number of attacks is too fricking low for a 270 point model. A praetor shot normally kills like 3-5 infantry or takes 3-6, rarely 9 wounds off a tank in practice and that’s it. A dorn normly does double to triple that in it’s shooting phase. Crassu(C) it’s funny, it’s durable and it can move a bunch of infantry. But it’s almost useless once it has dropped off it’s cargo and if you leave the units embarked longer than your first turn, then you are losing on firepower. Also the transport is even that important, it moves 10 inches, a guard infantry with move move move, is 9 inches. The two good transports are good because they are good damage and durability for the points. The transport part is secondary. Taurox(D) chimera is just infinitely better for like 5 more points. Macharius(D) you were off your bloody knickers putting this garbage brick in A tier. Yeah it’s very durable, but it is over 300 points and next to no firepower. Ok let’s shoot bot a macharius and a leman Russ exterminator at the same target that is t11. Both wound on 5s, both have AP-1, both have damage 3, but the exterminator has 8 attacks, when the macharius has only ~6.5 and the exterminator has a force multiplier ability and it cost nearly half the point and it has better sponson weapons. It is essentially a 310 point model with firepower that belong on a 160 point model. So what if it’s durable, the opponent can just ignore it and that won’t have any meaningful even on the battlefield.
Ah so pretty similar to what I got. The punisher you aren't giving enough credit for as even though its main gun is one purpose it does that purpose well and is cheap and still a tough tank. If you watch my guard tournament videos you'll see how much work they can do. A Dorn is not S-teir though, it's good but it's too big a target not be able to cause massive damage like baneblade varient would do, I use them a lot and they can take a lot of punishment they can't dish out as much damage as they dont have anything anti-large and it needs to be upfront in the front lines to be most effective. Also you are not taking into account the Praetor can shoot out of line of sight the entire board length and has heavy and a lot of other cool rules plus you can make him anti infantry or anti large at will, you don't need to take a different load out like a sisters exorist tank has to. I have no idea why you bring up the Macharius, he's not on this list at all. I wasn't doing any titanic tanks for this teir list. I have no idea what made you think he was if you had watched the full video and heard my reaons for why these tanks were at their positions.
@@tankhunterminatures Mistook the carnodon for a macharius, my bad, you got me there. As for he praetor, yes it can shoot out of line of sight, but it is 270 points, for that price you ca get 2 basilisks. Yes it has the two modes, the problem is the attacks are very inconsistent. You target a big vehicle with its launcher, if roll a 1 or 2 then you normally fail to damage the target. Because you have to make 4 ups on the wound rolls which is ok but not the best, then if you are indirect firing it, the target has the benefit of cover, do it is only ap-1 against a target with a 2+ or 3+ save. Normally you are doing 0-6 damage. Then after the thing shoots, it doesn't have any other weapons besides a pair of heavy bolters. The thing is just way too inconsistent. The anti infantry mode is ok, but you are using a 270 point model to use an attack that is out preformed by the basilisk earthshaker cannon a 135 point model. If the praetor was around 200 points, I would understand, but as it is, it doesn't have enough damage for the points. The rogal dorn does have anti large, it is called the oppressor cannon which has the same stats as a baneblade cannon with slightly less attacks. BTW, optimal loadout is oppressor cannons, multi meltas, pulveriser cannon, tripple heavy stubbers. The multi meltas and pulveriser cannon is still pretty good at destroying vehicles. Yes they wound on 5s but put together they have d6+4 shots, which kind of makes up for it and the guard detachment ability gives lethal hits, in addition to having d6+3 oppressor cannon shots. Yeah the oppressor cannon struggles against things like baneblades, korn lord of skulls and other giant t13 400+point models, but those models are very rare to see on the table top. I've had my dorns one shot moderately sized vehicles on multiple occasions. Also t12, 18 wounds, 2+ap and ablative plating make them very durable, I've had my dorns bombarded by all manner of anti tank weapons and refuses to go down. Overall the dorn is very competitively points costed and is one of the best choices if you want to do damage with your tanks, only really rivaled by demolishers and tank commanders. There is a reason why the Rogal Dorn frequents GT tournament winning lists while the Praetor is only in off meta lists where people bring what they think is cool. I mean, you literally put the rogal dorn in the same tier as battle cannon leman russ, come on m8.
Will watch for it. Do find the titanic tag silly though since the praetor and crassus are variants and arguably larger. Curious on their idea with that.@@tankhunterminatures
I know everyone is gaga over the S14 main gun on the Demolisher, but I just can't get past D6 damage. You can have all the strength in the world, but being entirely reliant on a dice roll for damage just feels so bad to me. I'd rather save 30 points and run a standard battle tank, or 45 points and run a Vanquisher.
my theory for the colossus being direct fire is that it can just fire at such a rediculously long range that to fire at things on the board it needs to aim directly at it.
Wtf?? Nothing on the baneblade line? Or the shadowsword? Or doomhammer? Nothing in ANY or the super tanks of the imperial guard??
Do one for Eldar next. Since they have fewer tanks than most factions, you could lump together Drukhari and Harlequin ones in that list as well.
That is the plan indeed. I was going through the lists and yeah dark eldar is 3 current and 1 ledgend so I can really give them their own video. Not sure what i'm gonna do with sisters of battle but i'll work something out.
The exterminator ability, Withering Hail, really makes every other weapons a punch. Wish the punisher did devasting wounds by standard
Hell yeah I am really pumped for this.

No macharius? otherwise decent glimpse into them this edition
Wasn't including Titanics. Will do that separately :)

Where is the BANEBLADE?
I don't normally use them so it's taking me time to get some first hand experience to work it out. I'll try and get it out soon :)
@@tankhunterminatures thank you
I wouldn’t discount the hydra’s damage! My pair of hydras took out Belakor in one round of shooting! I rolled hot, but it’s still proof of concept!
No baneblade?
Ah I wasn't including titanic vehicles. They have many other factors of how good they are.
please do a TITANIC vehicle video plz@@tankhunterminatures

Vanquisher S tier. You need to cover it with infantry, and have some orders
Have you played board game with all this equipment or why can you speak so confidently about the effectiveness of each of these units?
Yes, you can watch my other video on my tournment results using guard only tanks :)
@@tankhunterminatures you bought models from GW or 3d printed them? Anyway that' cool, you painted many tanks it seems

lol, I wish spell checker would pop up when uploading a video.
