- The value of an M-Tech from IIT is undeniable. In this video, I will be discussing the professional, social, and miscellaneous aspects of pursuing an M-Tech from one of India's most prestigious institutions.
Firstly, let's talk about the professional benefits. One of the most significant advantages of having an M-Tech from IIT is that it opens up numerous job opportunities. Companies actively seek out IIT graduates for their technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities. This means that you have a higher chance of getting hired and a better salary than someone without an IIT degree.
Having an IIT-M-Tech tag on your resume also gives you an edge in terms of career growth. You will be given more significant responsibilities and leadership roles, which can help you climb the corporate ladder faster. This is because IIT-M-Tech graduates are known for their strong work ethics, ability to handle complex projects, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Secondly, let's discuss the social benefits. The IIT network is one of the most extensive and well-connected networks in India. Once you become an IIT-M-Tech graduate, you automatically become a part of this network. This means that you have access to a vast pool of successful alumni who can help you with your career goals or provide mentorship. This network can be particularly beneficial if you are an entrepreneur looking to start your own business. You can leverage the IIT network to find investors or connect with potential customers.
Apart from the professional benefits, being an IIT-M-Tech graduate also comes with a certain level of social status. People tend to hold IIT graduates in high regard, and this can help you gain respect and recognition in your social circle.
Finally, let's talk about the miscellaneous benefits. Pursuing an M-Tech from IIT can be a life-changing experience. You get to learn from some of the best professors in the country and interact with some of the brightest minds in India. This can help you expand your horizons and gain a broader perspective on life.
Personally, pursuing an M-Tech from IIT helped me in numerous ways. It taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and discipline. It also helped me develop my problem-solving skills and taught me how to think outside the box. These skills have been invaluable to me in my personal and professional life.
In conclusion, pursuing an M-Tech from IIT is a smart investment in your future. It can open up numerous job opportunities, provide access to a well-connected alumni network, and help you gain social status. But most importantly, it can help you develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed in today's competitive world. So if you are considering pursuing an M-Tech from IIT, I highly recommend it.

Bro the people who clear cutoffs don't get IITs
They generally go for NITs or they reprepare
For getting admission into any IIT requires not just clearing the cut-off, it requires good AIR
And GATE has 15-17 technical subjects not just physics chem and maths
So that's why it is not that easy as you people are thinking
All the best 👍🏻
made my day, and confidence boosted up also to prepare more rigorously for GATE!!!!!
Ab tak to aapne pura syllabus ho gaya hoga🌝; right?

The way you explained is amazing.
Very good analysis about difference of B tech iitan and mtech iitan.
My childhood dream IIT 🥰
For non tech profile companies prefer Btech while for tech profiles like VLSI domain, communication domain ,power domain etc they prefer mtech (Sometimes btech are not at all allowed same like mtech not allowed sometime for non-tech).Actually previously not many people were doing mtech like 8-10 years ago so mtech was not that popular nowadays scene is totally different best minds of India are doing mtech .
Most of the core companies allow BTech students to sit in their placements however almost none of the consulting or finance firms allow MTech to sit in their placement drive.
In case of BTech, especially many BTech (Electrical) from IITs are themselves who opt for non-core jobs or CAT or UPSC despite having opportunities in core jobs. And even if let's say all core companies declare that they will hire only MTech then even that's not a big deal for IIT BTech guys as they have opportunity to convert their BTech to dual degree (BTech+Mtech) in third year I think. So at the end of the day, IITs take very well care of those who cracked JEE Advanced and overall IIT BTech graduates have leverage over IIT MTech postgraduates.
Also one more thing, if you are IIT graduate having CGPA greater than or equal to 7.5 or 8 (depends on IIT to IIT) then after a departmental written test and/or interview you can get MTech branch at IIT which sometimes even GATE under 100 rankers struggle to get.
And surprisingly almost nil or very few BTech graduates especially from circuital branches like CS/EC/EE opt for MTech bcz almost 95-96% of them from old IITs already get placed in good companies.
PS: I am not IIT graduate so don't judge me that I am degràding IIT MTech students. I respect IIT Mtech students as they worked hard to achieve it and most of the times they even work harder than BTech counterparts as they only have 2 years to spend on campus and get a good job🤞🤞👍
@@user-jhP_MhIpahsg234 it is not a competition buddy 😅I was just stating some facts and we recently ended our phase 1 placements and companies like qualcomm,AMD,Micron,TI,and many more for digital or comm or RF profile prefer Mtech because we do intensive project on those domains.AND finally admitted through QUOTA have no right to lecture anyone on JEE advance or gate 🥰I guess you get my point mohammad.

very realistic review - thanks
just because mtech is research oriented engineering degree and companies in india are mostly service provider whereas in foreign countries companies focus on research too and funds it too...therefore mtech degree from iit is good but in our country it's not that valuable but we can try to target foreign nations which will give much more returns :)
Also it depends on personal interest and curiosity of student that what he or she does in those two years either deeply study and publish papers do research by collaborating with genius minds or they just think about mtech degree
@@emberrfrost yeah...thanks for the adding...🥰🙏
I don't get this point why this IIT thing is getting so overrated..... A student who is not so good in maths phy and chem to get into IITs but is a very good at his /her work more to specify CSE or computer or has interest in computer need to study these three subjects to be called a GOOD CSE ENGEENER
Without math you can not solve complex problem

Sir plz make a video telling about differences of a Mtech and a Btech students inside IIT (basically college life) , do they get time to focus on extra curriculars and participate in competitons and events or they don't get much time for that ?

IIT btech means you have cleared Jee Advanced+ Mains which is toughest exam in world.
M-Tech from IIT doesn't get a lot of hype as B-Tech IIT in the VC world. But that's just the surface leverage. Doesn't matter in the long term. The tag does help any wah

Cracking gate is a cakewalk. Cutoffs arr 25-35 for some core branches which is a insanely low and easy to clear. Thus quality of students in mtech are drastically lower than what go for btechs in iit
Still 3rd toughest exam in india😅
Go for it than and share your result with me😮😊😊😊
@@AnantTyagi24 already cleared it . Iit kgp material science. Gate 38.8 general
It's still tough for cse.
Cutoff is 25-35 cuz it is 100 marks paper not 300. Also you don't get iit just by qualifying you have to be in top 2-4k. For general it is upto 1.5k considering core branches only(especially cse)
