- In this episode of Motive Garage we finish the engine build for our R32 GT-R "Project Supercar Killer".
We head Croydon Racing Developments so they can fit the billet oil pump, head, brace and sump before we start bolting on the accessories and get it ready to go into the car.

The shim vs shimless discussion was interesting. 11k rpm with shims, dang! Rethinking my choice to go shimless. Can’t wait to see this thing rip.
But if it's getting done in the Americas then it will be a gamble anyway
Can't wait to see your GTR rip mate
you can check ZPDrift on youtube , the man is running 9700rpm with shims but using dbw to close throttle at those rpms , so no bouncing rev limiter and destroy the whole engine
RB technology has come leaps after production. It's a cool story for the best sounding and legendary engine and cars. You guys are on it!
It's amazing what $50k~ will do!
As a JZ owner I still love this RB stuff 👍
Damn this is now getting serious, appreciate the low down on the engine build Andrew & CRD = legends !
This cars going to be an absolute animal once it's finished
Great work. I love the fact that you’ve stuck with the stock plenum. Nothing beats that factory look.
For now. We’ll be testing a few
I've been waiting 23 months for this!
It feels like a full Christmas wishlist build this one. Hard to see where you would want for anything more/better. Can't wait to see her rip.
Thanks!
Loved hearing Con's explanation on the shim vs shimless argument. 👍 I've always believed myself and been told that shimless is better overall and went that way with my 1JZ, but like he said, it becomes horses for courses. 😎
Good work as always Hawko. You do alot for the industry mate. We all appreciate it.
Thanks mate
this is a serious motherfucken RB, i'm wrapped for you Hawko, the 32 has come a longggggg way
Thanks mate
I've been dying to see more on your GTR. Looking sick Andrew!
Thanks mate!
Excellent video guys!
A thing of beauty
I wonder how good a v12 based on the rb would sound ? Kinda like what bmw did for mclaren f1 with that v12 being basically two s50s . I think it would be an eargasm 🥰🔥🤣
VB52/64 😅
I needed this 🙌
Nice video and build details. Appreciated.
Not the music please
Can't wait to see this thing rip! Absolutely gorgeous setup.
Had to turn it down cos of the music. Maybe you could play audio of rb engines revving? That’s what we’re here for.
Love your content tho
The car is going to be insane when you are done
congrats andrew its going to be killer bro
Thanks so much for sharing all this highly valuable information.🔥 I am in the process of starting a rebuild on my RB26. I have lots to learn and I apricate you guys!🙏
A work of art, I think I need a cold shower after all that glorious engine
Love this content I really do, but why the heavy metal music 😂 chilllll my guy
This build is going to be fun as 👌🏽💪🏽
Nice build and top work by CRD! 🔥
Notice how they fit the waterpumps which have the elongated slot on one bolt with extra sealant!
Do you still have the 6 boost T4 twin scroll manifold which you had paired to the Garrett GTW3884R? I assume the G45-1500 is only available in T4 twin scroll housings.
Awesome mechanic using an adjustable...
Adam LZ needs this
Lovin the music. Tough. Goes with the build
What compression ratio are you running in this? It's going to be so tough!
3.2’s are capable of well over that, show us how far the best parts and over bore can go.
Does having the turbo outlet on the bottom have any performance benefits over the usual placement or is it mainly for clearance/fitment of pipework?
Heater delete what brand were do I get one thanks mate top build love the channel keep it up mate
Boost doc sorry didn’t watch it all before comment
Out of curiosity, what is the advantage of removing the quench area in the combustion chamber?
I'd think the extra clearance would improve flow slightly around valves, but I'd think it's mainly to correct compression ratio when going from 2.6L to 3.2L while keeping standard piston shape.
What a gold mine of information! What sealant did he use on the water pump?
Looks like a Sika tube. First thought would be Sikasil Gasket Grey
Just ultra grey you would assume
Pink slips with my Prius let’s go
Might be worth mentioning the full differences geometry wise compared to stock on the videos so everyone can understand how different this engine now is.
So things like bore, stroke, valve size, cam lift & duration etc etc. We can obviously google it all but it'd be a nice touch to the next video.
He said in the video some information is kept close to the chest as workshops tend to keep their combos secret other wise everyone would have the same builds
nice
Nice
Hearing the comments “good for 9800 rpm” blows my mind.
Great build, I love it, ! I have a question tho, you aren't gonna use a crank trigger, or did I miss something? What are your thought process on this?
Also, I'm currently using a 6boost exhaust manifold, and I am experiencing some boost creep on stock wastegate spring with a GTX35 Gen 2, from 14psi to about 20psi. Customer supplied his own manifold with a 50mm wastegate port... is there such a big difference with the 60mm wastegate port that it will avoid creeping? Thanks guys, I really love your videos!
Will it chirp 2nd?
very good i like Nitto titan Brian tomei Hks kit stroker Racing 😅😅👍👍🇹🇭🇹🇭
I was looking to go for the kinsler pump set up with the prp cam angle sensor using there kit too run them both off the exhaust cam but I see you've decided too run off both cams. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to either set up?
Have you guys thought about switching to Dahtone's/IEE's ITB drive by wire setup?
We will be testing 5-6 different inlet manifolds
@motivevideo
What ar are you using for the g35-1050 and when do u see some boost? Building a 3.8
1.2 rear. Its realistically too small for a 3.2, let alone a 3.8 unless you want nothing but mid range and 800hp
@@MotiveVideo thanks for the feedback
Does anyone here know how much torque the oem RB oilfilter thread can handle?
Just wondering the advantage of an Rb 26 head over rb25 head on an rb 30
If you have told previously I’ve missed it apologies
Have you done any modes on the driveline side? Will the PPG holdup? IIRC they're rated to around 1000Nm, and the 3.2 will dwarf that figure I bet.
A PPG box has gone 8.1 and nearly 180mph :)
Interested to know why you wouldnt go to a dry sump on a setup like this?
Dont need to. its a street car that will predominantly drag race
Insane build, Plenum with dbw surely on the cards??
Thanks mate. We will be testing a few inlets.
Not an expert but reading through Supertech's documentation, titanium retainers supposedly wear faster than stainless steel so are worse for street use and better for racing.
When you want 10,000rpm you live with some wear and tear.
Everything is awesome bar one thing……. Number 1 EGT sensor would destroy my OCD……. The rest are nicely lined up bar #1. I’m hoping it was because of fitting around something but generally nothing much over the top of #1 runner….
We didnt weld the bungs on and it cant physically fit same as the rest
link to video after this video
I didn’t get notified for this vid 🤔, RUclips is skipping
The music makes it hard to watch, it’s loud and monotonous 😵💫
I was looking for this comment so I didn't need to write it a second time.
Are you comfortable running that kinda power without filling the block?
Check out our block prep video to see why we are comfortable with it.
@@MotiveVideo got it. Thanks
boy, that silicone one water pump looked really excessive. so much got pushed out...
👌👌👌
How much was this in just parts ?? 😍
How to build a 1200hp Tax deductible RB26 😉👌🏼
What is that hissing sound??
Like hissss
I am look for a rb26
NOICEEEE
Does Peter do the hand porting on these heads?
Nope
@@andrewcollins7355 PMC is the only person I'd get to do the head on my rb
He is good, but why wouldn't you get the person responsible for world's quickest and fastest manual GT-R and Street GT-R, making over 2000hp to do it?
@@MotiveVideo because I like the work Peter does, it's not always about the biggest and best mate. I think your just after the ego boost hey?
More Money that's how
That is one expensive parts list
🍿🍿😎
Surely the video quality can be upped to 1440p or even 4k now? These videos would be next level then
No quench pads? interesting choice.
Love how you've kept the ITB's ;). Have you kept the 45mm throttles? or had them enlarged to 48 or 50mmØ.
Looking good
They are stock…..for now
Checks bank account…. I’m just going to watch…
That music...Jesus..the videos are the best GTR vids on RUclips but the noise is just too much.
🤗can I touch it
BALANCE THE AUDIO ON ONE VIDEO PLEASE
You mean like on our studio speakers designed for mixing?
@@MotiveVideo it might surprise you that most people don't listen to RUclips through studio speakers. Have a go listening to this through headphones and have fun listening to "cutlery down the garbage disposal" drowning out your expert's whispering. Or perhaps just re-read your speakers manual.
Where is part 1?
Look at the end frame or simply look through our videos
Ooooft
Factory inlet manifold???? Common noobs
Huh? We’re going to test multiple
inlet manifolds.
Nice build but that's no 2jz lol
How to build a 1200hp 3.0 RB:
Step 1: Throw it away and give a stock 2JZ bottom end 50+ psi. You're welcome.
Spam ezza, nice try.
Lucky it's not a 3.0. It's a 3 2
I think he still wants it in one piece after an event, Sam
All that for 1200 🤣🤣🤣 Supra owners laughing
Yeah struggling to break sub 11's goto cars n coffee instead
