Love the fabric wall my mother did that in the late 90’s with a fabric that looked like a buffed sage leather but she brushed it with liquid starch for fabric to keep it smoothed and tight plus it was easy to remove when she changed the room out again with another look. Love your video and style ❤

Very beautiful antiques and art pieces…I’ve absolutely loved Victorian style decor since I was 11 years old when I saw a few pictures in an antique shop when I was with my mother. Before I was 12 I picked out floral Victorian wallpaper and a few framed prints. I’ve added 100’s of different antique glass, artwork, and furniture over the last 40 years 😊 I just love that antiques all have a story behind them and it truly makes a home unique.🩷

Hi Ally, I saw your video and I love some of the items you used, but I have to correct some things that you said. Victorian decor is not a fundation for the others styles, the Victorian decor is a mix of GOTIC REVIVAL and NEOCLASSICAL STYLE used in ITALY and then in FRANCE in the late LOUIS 15 to the EMPIRE STYLE(REGENCY STYLE in ENGLAND).THE VICTORIAN ERA is from the date QUEEN VICTORIA was crown until her death, not after the INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION. For a VICTORIAN DECOR you need color jewel tones, no pastel colors, silk and velvet for drapes and fabric, you have your curtains, detail furniture, you have one, the GALLERY WALLl-first created in FRANCE IN 1600 using different pictures and objects. I love the one is near your window because you have different pictures in the other one is only arquitectural, landscape and ocean side. Love the big picture of fabric you have behinde the big mirror, maybe you can plce it in the wall😊I really dont know why you used two different patterns in the walls, have to be a conbination of different but get along. You can put a velvet curtain in the entrance of your kitchen with a big tassel. You have urn, statue, column. Put some flowers and plants like big ferns and palms. Love your entrance with the pictures and wall paper. ❤❤.Good video, thanks for sharing and blessings. ❤❤

I was referring to how it set the stage for many of my own personal style choices and tastes. Regarding the Victorian era, I should have been clearer in distinguishing between the era itself and the specific design movement that emerged during that time, especially with the influence of figures like William Morris.
Good call on some of the other items I need to include - the tassels are a must, I also want some needlepoint or cross-stitch pillows and I'm also on the hunt for a fireplace surround because you can't have a victorian parlor without a fireplace, right?! Even if it is a faux one!
As for pastel colors, while they may not have been as prevalent in traditional Victorian decor, they did find their way into some interiors, particularly during the latter part of the era with the rise of the Aesthetic Movement and the influence of figures like Oscar Wilde. However, I'm always mindful of maintaining a cohesive design scheme, and I held back on having two conflicting patterns on the walls (trust me, I was soooo tempted a few times!). The fabric is on the walls in the living room and the wallpaper is in the hallway. I did the DIY tray with some leftover Morris wallpaper, which I thought was a fun way to feature the print in the living room itself. Also, in the beginning of the video I mentioned that I wanted to weave in my French Cottage feel into this Victorian style somehow, so this was my own unique spin. The most important thing is if you like what you have done, enjoy; later you will find this x thing don't go along with, that happen all the the time too. Is like trial and error thing. You have good ideas for decor💗. Needle point pillow is a most, I found one for $2 and yes a fireplace is a most too. I was ck about the aesthetic movement is oriental decor, dark wood with gilt, blue and white porcelain and nature, no pastel colors maybe in flowers. But at the end is what you like and love. The tray I love it💗💗, is a good idea.
