Both Dean and Robert are so underrated as respective players and songwriters as well. Dean plays the coolest, off the wall solos with really great licks and riffs that are so unique, plus he uses amazing select vintage gear. Robert kills it on bass and he's also killer on back up vocals, he makes Scott sound 10 X better with those spot on harmonies. His basslines are way more intricate than most people realize. I love listening to all their parts.
all 4 are amazing individually.. together they were something incredible! They were so tight here.. on top of their game for sure. What a treat. And I totally agree about the unique sounds and originality. Anyone who's tried to write music that doesn't sound like something that already exists is a lot harder than anyone can imagine! STP Forever!!!
I agree. I always thought Dean was the driving force here, but it's Robert. He's the one that comes up with all the interesting chords. ruclips.net/video/0_pdW5IyRQ0/видео.html&ab_channel=RickBeato
Jack Meoff i always felt like, in those final shows, that vasoline was just programmed in him and he clung to it, like it was all he could remember, he performed it so much in the end although it got worse and worse. Rip Scott love you
Watching these videos gives me such major regrets about not seeing Scott Weiland perform more often. We all knew he was not going to live to be an old man and we should all be grateful that his body endured 48 years on this planet. One of the best frontmen of the 90's and 2000's
Mitch Canter this was so sad to read. "we all knew he was not going to live to be an old man." drugs are the tool of the devil i swear. and the way the media would just reduce him down to a druggie and blame him for everything within stp when scott was mentally ill. drug addiction is a mental health issue and even without that scott had bipolar disorder. he lost his younger brother to drugs too. i cant imagine how his parents feel losing both their children. and his two kids, Noah and Lucy, are without their father. he had done well for a good length of time. he even went like 10 years without cocaine or heroin. he didnt deserve to die that young and in that way. neither did kurt, layne, or chris. eddie is the only one left between all the major figures of grunge and it may sound silly but i fear the day he goes. i hope he lives well into his old age. i wonder how he feels about losing so many of his friends/contemporaries, especially with chris cornell since they had been close friends for well over 2 decades
Scott was one of the best frontmen. He could sing anything! He was at home on the stage. I saw him many times with STP, Velvet Revolver & solo. I was never disappointed. I’m not sure he knew just how good he was. I miss him! I wish, he could of overcome his addiction😢
Scott was Scott at this show, this is why he was one of the best lead singers of his time. When he wanted to he could do the old show like he used to, sad what happened.
Here, here, Scott ruled the '90's and STP. I am happy that I saw him during the #4 record, he was all over the stage -- one of the most under-rated lead vocalists.
scorneli1202 those demons always do. Some of us get more healthy time then others . But it will pull you back weather you have 1 year or 8 . 8 years and they all go away so easy Also, he was feeling very good. My arrival is very soonly too high. But looked like he pulled off another great show.. true professional.
robert donaldson have you not seen the 1999/2001 shows? If you know this band truly you know this isn’t their best. It’s decent but unfortunately the beginning of the end
We're you born stupid or did you have to take classes? It wasn't drugs or dealers that "took him from us". That whole mess was his decision and his choice. Don't be dumb.
Scott was easily one of the best frontmen in rock. He was up there with Freddy Axl etc. So charismatic and so full of showmanship while being entertaining and badass at the same time. He will be missed.
Am I the only one who can’t help but dance around and pretend I’m a rockstar like ole Scott? I can sing, dance, and play air guitar and air drums at the same time. Yes yes
Even tho he died tragically Scott was a tough dude. Think about it everyone from his era that was an addict died pretty quickly this dude lasted to 48.
00:00 - Vasoline 03:00 - Crackerman 06:29 - Wicked Garden 10:50 - Between The Lines 13:49 - Hickory Dichotomy 17:20 - Big Empty 22:35 - Plush 27:59 - Interstate Love Song 31:30 - Sex Type Thing 35:09 - Dead and Bloated 40:17 - Lounge Fly 46:10 - Trippin' On A Hole
I CAN'T HELP IT. AT 52, I AM HAVING A DAILY "STP" BAND CRUSH... MY EYES WELL'UP WITH EACH PASSING SONG . I'M FOREVER IN AWE OF THE FULL- POWER Chemistry
You can tell by Scott's weight that he is healthy and clean....hence, great concert. Too bad he couldn't keep it together....tragic...I like his solo albums too
No question these guys "lay it down" !!! One of the greats and Scott is exceptional!!! Eric's drumming always thrills me!! So solid and mad groove!! He is one of those drummers who somehow doesn't get the recognition he deserves!! Dean and Robert can "throw down" with the best of them!!! GREAT BAND !! Certainly one of my all time favorites!!! Keep it coming STP!!!!
Cheers bro -- totally under-rated. He's like David Lee Roth, the best in his day. Scott is one fuckin' guy that I will miss in music. I hope that I get to see him perform again in another dimension.
Scott's "demons" we're the best songwriters in the rock business at the time of their Chicago performance. I really miss the music for sure , but, besides that, I miss their drop in performances at many small clubs in LA and accross the country He was really into his fans
I couldnt agree any better when i first heard this show live in chicago damn this band tight again scott and band on key! Good show we miss you too scott!!!! Thats from even the metal regime!!!!!!
....and to this day scott , inivative...clever raw sound and a bullhorn to accectuate the vocals ! You know only scott coulda pulled that off like picking a perfect actor for a great movie!
Try to understand that when I can, I will. This line has always stayed with me throughout the years. It has so much more punch when sung in this context.
Hey everybody, where did Scott go?......... Please think for me, I can't bear to! I always hoped that STP would do another gritty album like Core. Impossible without Scott! Core is one of the albums that I have to listen to with the volume on 10,000,000 and stamp around my living room like a maniac! Who cares if the speakers blow up? "I am smellin' like the rose that somebody gave me on my birthday deathbed. I am smellin' like the rose that somebody gave me 'cause I'm dead & bloated" Miss you Scott and also you too Layne R.I.P. the best vocalists ever!
Godd**n I miss Scott Weiland! One of a kind frontman to a one of a kind band that will NEVER go out of style in my life! R.I.P. my friend, unbelievable mark that you made in TOO short of a time!
Scott Weiland is the best frontman of our time, no doubt!! It's so good to see him with a little meat:) And his energy and voice... Irresistible! Thanks for coming back to us and to your fellow Pilots:) - It was nice how they interacted with - and smiled at - eachother :) I couldn't be happier... except if I was there! Does anyone know where to get this DVD??
Even Old(er) Scott Rocks. He's like a 50 year old Bowie in 1997 just killin' it. The way he looks at Eric OMG. He was givin' it his all, all the time. The man was great. He had nothing to prove at the end of the day. RIP.
blica 1 Thanks. Yes I read this after posting and I understand much why I liked the sound of STP so much 20 years ago and still today :p And grunge music in general because it is a good mix of 60-70's music and the hard-rock of the 80's-90's, adding to the melancholia of these groups like Alice in Chains, Nirvana, STP and others. In the case of STP and looking at this live, I realize how much these guys had Led Zeppelin in heritage. Guns'n'Roses could fit well in this suit too in another style, with Plant/Rose/Weiland and Page/Slash/DeLeo. But I stop here the comparisons because influences is part of the music and each musician and group is unique.

Yup off the wall like MJ AND Micheal Jordan #toungeout
Don't forget Eric. He delivers consistent and solid drumming, powering the STP engine.
I agree but i think they all knew they were in scotts shadow
I agree. I always thought Dean was the driving force here, but it's Robert. He's the one that comes up with all the interesting chords. ruclips.net/video/0_pdW5IyRQ0/видео.html&ab_channel=RickBeato
R.I.P Scott! At your "worst" you were still the better than 99% of most lead vocalists out there!
And one of the best frontmen ever...
Jack Meoff i always felt like, in those final shows, that vasoline was just programmed in him and he clung to it, like it was all he could remember, he performed it so much in the end although it got worse and worse. Rip Scott love you
He was awesome!

I agree! I only saw him once with rhcp, I think in like 2000 or somewhere around there. Scott is one of my favorites, he was amazing 🤩
Man, the surviving members of STP must miss doing performances like this. Absolutely ELECTRIC! Scott sure could work the crowd - and what a voice!
Definately. He's fantastic,
Why are all my heroes from the nineties dead Scotty, Layne, Kurt and Chis. Thank god for YT. We will always be able to see them again.
Scott Wieland is and will always be STP's frontman (sorry Chester ) RIP Scott ( 1967 - 2015 )
+Luis Merlin Gutierrez Jr. who the hell is Chester ? This music equals Scott
+Luis Merlin Gutierrez Jr. Chester sings with STP just by being a big fan of the band. Respect, please.
Here, here, Scott ruled the '90's and STP. I am happy that I saw him during the #4 record, he was all over the stage -- one of the most under-rated lead vocalists.
RIP Chester
RIP Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington both of you will always be remembered
Scott actually looked relatively healthy here. So sad his demons won the fight. RIP.
scorneli1202

Those demons are undefeated. The demons called drugs and alcohol
He looked healthy but unfortunately he wasn't... That is the difficulty with appearance. Awesome show thou!
Their best concert in my opinion.
robert donaldson have you not seen the 1999/2001 shows? If you know this band truly you know this isn’t their best. It’s decent but unfortunately the beginning of the end
Scott may be gone, but his voice will live in our hearts forever
Awesome show, awesome voice. Fuck the drugs and the dealers that took him away from us.Love,Peace,Scott.
he chose his path. we all do
We're you born stupid or did you have to take classes? It wasn't drugs or dealers that "took him from us". That whole mess was his decision and his choice. Don't be dumb.

...a real frontman never die...Scoot in my Heart Forever...R.I.P.
Scott was easily one of the best frontmen in rock. He was up there with Freddy Axl etc. So charismatic and so full of showmanship while being entertaining and badass at the same time. He will be missed.
When Scott was on Top Form, STP was magic !
STP and Soundgarden were my favorite bands that came out of that time. Weiland is a great talent and showman.
A fantastic underrated band made up of some of the best musicians to come out in the 90's.
Underrated? STP is one of the biggest bands from the 90s lol
This is how I'll remember STP with Scott...on form and rockin
Am I the only one who can’t help but dance around and pretend I’m a rockstar like ole Scott? I can sing, dance, and play air guitar and air drums at the same time. Yes yes
He's one of the best lead singers to rise in the alternative side of music... sad he's gone.
He's so on form here. Such a loss. RIP.
They all are.
@ you’re right.
I miss Scott so very much. He's truly one of a kind and irreplaceable.
100% agree with you..he was the best...the greatest of all time.. sooo missed 💔

these guys are always game, they don't phone it in or get sloppy, they deliver the goods - I respect them a lot as musicians, and as professionals
Probably the 15th time I'm watching this show ♥
10 years ago. Damn. So hard to believe. He was so great when he pulled it together. One of the best frontmen, period. And so missed.
Scott best singer in history....STP forever 2024!!!
Love this, great live performance, bullhorn adds the perfect touch. Scott is irreplaceable
You can tell by Scott's weight that he is healthy and clean....hence, great concert. Too bad he couldn't keep it together....tragic...I like his solo albums too
omg, scott weiland is such a glorious frontman.the best!
Dang, the band sounded awesome, in addition to Weiland looking and sounding very sharp! Good concert...
Dean is such a badass riff-maker!
that just demostrates the creativity of this man and how far he can go with his gibson in E standard
Weiland is awesome, great frontman.
A great loss. RIP Scott, you will be dearly thought of and missed.

Scott on fucking FIRE. Such a sin, the talent this man has. Thank god we haven't lost him yet, but who would be surprised if he was next?
+Jason Martin unfortunately that has happened :(
This was a great show. It's a cryin' shame Scott's gone. I thought he was in the clear. Addiction is a motherfucker.
The Best band.
what a frontman!

Saw them on this tour. They were good! This vid is awesome. Scott got his shit back together but it was only briefly.
You are the cream if the crop OH YEAAHH
He was high. I’m not judging. I just know. With certainty .
Yup..saw this tour..scott was on his game...although I saw them on the 94 purple tour and Scott literally sounded note for note like the album
I couldnt agree any better when i first heard this show live in chicago damn this band tight again scott and band on key! Good show we miss you too scott!!!! Thats from even the metal regime!!!!!!

THANKS FOR POSTING!
It leaves today. No conversation.
Kiss @10:30:) The guitarist reminds me so Jimmy Page by its attitude and guitar play. He rocks!
Page is his biggest influence..

The pure essence of rock&roll, one of the best true rock bands in the world.Love STP forever🖤🌹🔥✌
Not any more. Just a memory now.
Scott left this world in the wrong way. He was much better than the drugs could ever explain.
The drugs helped him a good portion of his career but they turned on him rather quickly
God Bless STP! Scott looks so fine here
3:05 Crackerman was the song that did it for me, and Scott showing off the frontman persona that he was is all in this song when performed live.
