    Yes. It's important to understand... THE importance to 'follow' like a 'method''s way working concept.
    Thanks a lot. Clear and more. Also, of course, with any others good synth.
    Merci.
    Alban.

      I think that it just a bug. If they fixed it it would break the preset library because all patches have the opposite modulation amounts.

    • @charonme
      @charonme 2 года назад

      @@MartinStuertzer what exactly are the conditions when the modulation is applied in reverse? Is this only for velocity->filter attack or any source->filter attack? Or is this specific for mod slot 2 only?

    Excellent tutorial and insight to your approach, especially with the short / long notes, use of velocity modulation and using the mod wheel to control some of the levels/filter. Interesting that you started by setting the filter first, usually I head straight for the volume amp. So many different ways to approach this style of music :-) Looking forward to the next episode with samplers. That tends to be my start point although you made the synth programming look far less daunting. Thank you!

    Always found rev2 extremely happy sound for dub techno. Despite the huge modulation. You proved me wrong. I would like to see u tune a prologue sometime i feel its the king of dub it treated proper . thanks for this tutorial and your time. You the best

    • @johnnyraphaell
      @johnnyraphaell 2 года назад

      I think the rev2 holds its presence even when turned a little bit back. Thats cool for headroom and the whole mix. Rev2 is a mix monster. Never fat but always fitting. I love that filter. Its a special one. Its not weak. Its unique. Try to copy that with a vst or hardware. No chance.
      The prologue is a great instrument too! I had the xd and it made indeed very good dub plucks.

  • @_neovek

    great tutorial but its missing one important part... what type of oscillators do you use, what are the settings of the oscillators... pulse width, etc... We dont have all the same synth so it would be great to know how to reproduce the sound...

    • @MartinStuertzer
      @MartinStuertzer  Год назад

      That is true, I should have explained what the Init Patch on the Rev 2 does. The first Oscillator is a Saw wave. The second Oscillator also uses a Saw wave and is either tuned 12 semitones lower than the first one or 7 semitones higher.

    Martin, I value your opinion. I've got room for one good tweakable hardware synth. Would you pick the sub37 or the rev2?

    • @MartinStuertzer
      @MartinStuertzer  2 года назад +1

      The Sub37 is one of my favourite synths! If you look for a polyphonic synth the Sub37 won´t help you but for monophonic stuff it is an outstanding instrument.

    well, can dub-techno or say the movement of these cluster chords be any different .. the dotted delay and the typical reverb does get stagnant after a while. The effects need as much modulation as does the source.

    Salute Bro. Thanks for the video! I want to ask ... what kind of synthesizer are you using .. and is there a digital analogue in VST format? Or would you recommend a VST synthesizer that is very similar in sound to the one you are using. Thanks to . Good luck! :)

    • @MartinStuertzer
      @MartinStuertzer  2 года назад

      In this video I use the Sequential Rev2, which is an analog hardware synthesizer. To replicate this sound with a software I would recommend Repro-5 by U-HE (very accurate replication of the Prophet) or Arturia Pigments (very flexible and good sounding "allrounder").

    Super, thanks! I always have a problem with sidechain compression because there's no clear, standard wording to describe it. In this case, you mean use the kick drum hits (=source) to increase the compression RATIO on the chords (=target), right?

    • @MartinStuertzer
      @MartinStuertzer  2 года назад

      Yes, you got it right I guess. There are a lot of good videos about sidechaining on youtube, so I only have a short version in my video.

    What would you do with a monophonic analog synth with 3 oscilators?

    • @alm5966
      @alm5966 Год назад

      You could tune osc two up by 3 semitones and osc three up by 7 semitones. That'll give you a minor chord sound.

    mir fallen dub techno chords mit dem analog four super schwer ... ein tutorial dazu würde glaube ich vielen helfen ..dankee martin

    • @MartinStuertzer
      @MartinStuertzer  3 года назад

      Mit einer Stimme ist es nicht ganz einfach, man muss sich da mit dem Sub-Osc und dem zweiten Osc helfen, um drei Töne gleichzeitig zu bekommen. Ab da geht es dann eigentlich so weiter wie hier beschrieben. Ich nehme das aber mal auf, mit dem A4 kann man noch interessante Sachen machen auf dem Gebiet!

    Hey folks, do you think it's possible to have the same sound and modulation with prophet 10 or 6 ?

    • @MartinStuertzer
      @MartinStuertzer  Год назад +1

      Totally! It should be easier because the Prophet 10 has more "drift" and you can skip some of the modulations that I used with the Rev2.

      @@MartinStuertzer Sorry, could i ask for a complicated thing: I'm in one click from bying either prophet 6 desktop, or Rev2 -8 keyboard version, I really like the this tut, and amazing modulations, but p6 sounds so good to me. Could you suggest anything?
