Schwartz and little brother Randy both wore stocking caps in the movie, so it's easy to confuse them. But I'd bet a Christmas duck dinner that the little boy depicted in the diorama with Santa and the slide is meant to be Randy.
And Flick got his tongue stuck, whereas Schwartz was the triple dog dare-er.

Great video! I was there last year at Christmas when the cast was at the Welcome Center. I only got Ralphie to sign my poster. I was bummed out to hear that the cast would be in Cleveland this year for Christmas.

In the Santa scene, you missed the elf kicking Ralphie down the slide.

I grew up around 10 miles of Hammond in Illinois and it wasn't until years later that I discovered it was set in Hammond. The way I found out was I was working in Indiana and someone mentioned it. I believe they worked at the school that the real Jean Shepherd worked at. If I recall, his real family was quite different, and his parents divorced, and his real dad was nothing like the Old Man from the films. Now that I know it was set in Hammond, I picked up things, like Hohman (which is a street I have driven on many times) and mentioning the Bears (Hammond Indiana is a suburb of Chicago and many times if you meet someone from Hammond they will tell you they are from Chicago.
Jean Shepard made a cameo appearance in the movie when he told Ralph that the line did not start there but back there.
And bob clarke the director was the guy outside with the old man when he got the major award.
I went to college with a woman who last name was Bupus.
Did you know that the interior of that department store was filmed at the time Marshall Fields department store on State Street in Chicago?
At 8:39 you can see the weird kid with goggles in line to see Santa. And isn’t the man with the beard in line by him that said the line is back there, Jean Sheperd?
