      Great question! I'm pretty sure Anacharis (Egeria densa) is the plant I use. I read that Elodea is supposed to be great - but multiple pet stores didn't know anything about either one. Just google the Anacharis image, take it to the fish section in the pet store, and show the image to an employee. You'll see it in an aquarium with little fish swimming around. One plant costs $6 and it has over 100 leaves.
