Vision Gran Turismo: 10th Anniversary

- The 'Vision Gran Turismo' project started 10 years ago as of 2023 with a question from Kazunori Yamauchi: "Would you be willing to design your rendition of Gran Turismo for us?"
Here are all the Vision Gran Turismo models envisioned by the manufacturers and brands from all over the world who answered Kazunori Yamauchi's call, starting with the unveiling of the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo on 20 November 2013, and most recently the 2 Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept models and the BVLGARI Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo which were just unveiled in December 2023 at the Gran Turismo World Series World Finals 2023 venue.

It's crazy how many top brands they've worked with to create these beautiful concept cars.

Specially when you consider that they couldn't add Ferrari, Bugatti, Fittipaldi, Lamborghini, Italdesign (as a brand, because some of their works like the Lotus Espirit were already in some games) and McLaren in their games just a few years ago. Just to name a few
Its surprising to see how much or the design language found in some of the older vgt cars went on to become their design language for their real life cars.

@@frostysauropod it's not even the direct ones (missed the BMW one becoming the M2 btw) but also stuff like the Peugeot. The design language of that can be seen on their current pse models or whatever they're called.
Unlike mistubishi eclipse
Mercedes, Aston Martin, Toyota, Bugatti and McLaren's VGT's eventually led the way for the AMG GT, Valkyrie, GR Supra, Chiron, as well as the Sabre and Solus GT.
No matter how "Useless" most of these cars is on the game, Vision GT did contribute when it comes to car designs of the future.

It is great to see. Cars like the FT-1 becoming the mk5 Supra, BMW VGT becoming the M2, Bugatti VGT becoming the Chiron and the McLaren VGT becoming an actual track only race car barely changed from the VGT. I get how people hate the VGT’s in the game as you can’t do much with them but it is amazing to see designers who have the freedom to make whatever they want and share it with millions of people across the world. Hard to think it started 10 years ago.
The FT1 was a Toyota only concept car originally.
I thought the bolide looks more like the vgt than the chiron.

@@FDALl-ms5kghow? It looks nothing like the Bolide and looks like the same concept as what the FXXK, P1 GTR or Senna GTR are to their road cars but for the Chiron.
Would like to add, Audi's VGT is drivable irl as well (and yes, it retains the game design, not to be mistaken with the Hoonitron in case you're wondering). iirc Audi fitted Formula E batteries for the car

This is one of the many things that sets this game apart from all other racing games.
This game is for people who love cars
these cars are exclusive to these games. you can not drive them in any other racing game. makes us gt players feel special

Whether you like them or not, its undeniably imoressive that so many major manufacturers and designers have created cars for this project!
I still remember being so excited for this project when i was a kid, back when i unlocked most of these Vision GT cars in Gran Turismo 6! Here's for more exciting Vision GT cars in the years to come!

Congratulations Gran Turismo for the tenth anniversary of vision, the truth is I hope you keep this as it is very unique to the brand and very special for my brands to make a concept that they cannot bring to real life at the moment🎉🎉🎉
Every VGT that has been produced has been a representation of that respected manufacturers ethos and following inception.
Technically the concept of Vision Gran Turismo is 10 years older: for example the Nike 2022 concept car in GT4
Or... even earlier, the Toyota Pod in GT Concept.
10 years of VGT also marks 10 years since GT6 came out. I remember playing it when I was younger, the game was a big part of my childhood
I still remember when Vision Gran Turismo was a tech demo that used the PlayStation 3's engine to have about 16 cars to a track using Gran Turismo 4. The cars from this VGT deal are incredible. It speaks to the level of importance and charm of designers designing unique cars in the Gran Turismo realm. Wow- just wow. And on an off-topic note, I wonder how many people still want to get the 2022 Nike ONE car from GT4, though that car isn't a VGT model...

I'm so gladed everyone accepted the Vision Gran Turismo cars, I don't know how in my case playing the Online Lobbys everyone hates them but who cares, my most favorite and number 1 VGT is: Audi VGT (Gr.1)
Vision GT helped create the future of car designs that only existed in the world of the Gran Turismo games.
Can't wait to see bits of VGT ideas being turned into reality like the McLaren Solus GT that was based on the McLaren Vision GT!
Pfff... Gran Turismo fue quien me metió a este vicio de los autos allá en 1998. Hasta la fecha sigo disfrutando de GT6 y obviamente los Vision. Cada vez que tengo oportunidad platico lo importante que es la franquicia para mí.

As someone who loves cars because of Gran Turismo, this project never fails to impress me. Can't wait to see what new cars Vision GT will send our way.
I think it's about time to bring back the rest of the older Red Bull X cars to GT7 (X2010, X2010 S. Vettel, X2010 JP Flag Color, X2010 5G, X2010 5G S. Vettel, X2010 Prototype, X2011 Prototype, and finally the X2014 Fan Car). I'd play GT7 nonstop of this happened.

I know most people don't like Vision GT but there are some pretty cool ones in the bunch. The Mazda LM55 is my favorite personally. Just a shame the Nike 2022 never made a return 😢

VGT shows how Gran Turismo is a great contributor to the automotive industry by pushing the limits of design in the games that makes car brands actually develop them into real life cars, that’s just amazing
Let’s just say, car designs are basically a definition of what we are capable of making,
The work of each company has been special plans that weren’t continued, plans were. It was amazing to see how far all these car companies have come and hope to see even more in the future.
Can’t wait to see what insane cars these guys keep on making. All I know is that they are gonna be awesome

The RedBull x Vision GT debuted by Vettel sill gives me the Kando (感動) and goosebumps till this day.
and I think it's still the most impressive car in terms of aesthetics and performance out of the whole vision series.

Gran Turismo inspire most of car designers and GT Vision is a tribute to cars and Gran Turismo.
They may not be the most pleasant designs sometimes, but they are made with love, it's what I love about these cars, it's what I love about Gran Turismo.

I love the idea of the Vision Gran Turismo collection, as it just dips into that un-reality enough to still have some artistic freedom of things that aren't quite possible in the real world. Manufacturers get to ask the question, "Well, what if...?"

the recent announcement raised expectations even more as VGT of BVLGARI, the third different occupation after Nike and Jordan, was unveiled!
McLaren's VGT became a real vehicle as the "SOLUS GT", eventually reversing the concept of the "Original Car of Gran Turismo".
As a fan who has loved the Gran Turismo series for a long time, I pray for your future development!

From the Mercedes to the Bvlgari, we've really come a long way with ten years of these amazing concept machines, some of which led the way for real, existing cars, despite their usefulness being quite questionable in the games.

The Vision project has been very influential on car design as a whole.
Not sure if you have noticed yet, but they changed the way the brake lights work so they all come on at the same time, other people have mentioned this was a bug in the comments

As many people have mentioned the great part of this project is that they actually contribute to the car industry, a great example is how Ferrari actually managed to evolve the Vision GT to their Le Mans 499p and it proved t be useful
