Just bought 8 of these plants for our SC yard. Planting all natives so I’m glad to find your channel! 🌱🌎✌️

I'm from San Antonio too. My favorite native plants right now are Texas Persimmons, Frog Fruit, and Texas Vervain. I just recently found the Texas Vervain growing in a very inconvenient location on my property and so I potted it and I want to propagate it. Persimmons and Frog Fruit are already in abundance, and hopefully the vervain will be soon as well

Mine are planted on an old sandpile along the alley where the hose will not reach. We are in our third year of if extreme drought and the leaves have curled up, but it has survived. Hopefully some day we will get rain again.

How long from germination to maturity? Can I expect seed heads the first year?

It is a quick grower. You should have seed heads in the first year.

Do you have any idea why mine would be flopping over and trying to just lay on the ground? (Houston)
