Met both JB and James at Business Masterclass two weeks ago. Both thoroughly nice gentlemen! JB is exactly the same off camera and James is very entertaining as well as a god of business. Great double act - keep the great work up gents 👌
I really enjoyed this chaps. Thank you. Some really good ideas and actions for me to take on and think about. My goal (albeit stupidly ambitious) is to grow the uk’s largest network of food, drink and country business and connect as many people to them as possible. I’m probably going about it all wrong but I love what I do and get a lot of pleasure for seeing small businesses grow and showcasing what this amazing country and people have to offer. The 8 traits of the greats is a hard one sometimes. Scoring each one out of 10 to earn an overall score of 80 would give a better indication, possibly. Great podcast once again 👍
This is such a seriously good episode and business owners can learn so much from listening to these podcasts…. so much better than other similar podcasts…. In fact I’d say even better than listening to Bloomberg!
Makes sense wales, scotland, cornwall known for being rural areas with their own tiny languages that went extinct. Richest place in uk is london. I heard public schools in scotland considered lower skill than schools in england. Personally I heard germany is good place to live, sometimes your children can get free college in germany
I'm very surprised Mr Sinclair doesn't go ahead if his lieutenants aren't on board. The vision is what sets you apart from them. In some of the books you suggest Branson, Felix Dennis etc went ahead on deals when all of their board were against it.
I imagine this guys losing a lot of sales due to his delivery window. Customers, right or wrongly, expect a product to be delivered within 1-2 days of buying it. This is enough to put a potential customer off and see them go elsewhere to purchase the exact same product. On top of that, he's more than likely paid for that traffic too.
I don't agree. It is worth paying a small retainer and taking advantage of an agency's knowledge. Bringing PPC in house isn't a great idea as the person responsible would only be working on one account, very quickly their knowledge becomes out of date and obsolete. Managing an agency is much easier.
@matthewholland6054 you sound like you run an agency 🤣. Maybe but the person working on the account will actually be working on the account most of the time. Agencies, 9 times out of 10 have a setup and sit back approach. If it's not their own hard earned money they're spending their less likely to 1. Keep the finger on the pulse 24/7 and 2. Optimise the account to its full potential. I speak from experience after working with 3 different agencies. Although, it may be a good idea to have an agency do an audit once in a while and possibly pay them for weekly/monthly consultancy. If you can afford it, do ppc in house AND pay an agency, best of both worlds then
I COULD GET THRU LIKE 4 EPISODES DAILY..... JUST IN MY HOTEL CHADSCALING MY ONLINE BUSINESS, THEN MASHING THESE OUT. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND, OTHER PODCASTS THAT ARE AS ACTIONABLE, OTHERS SEEM WISHY WASHY
Dreadful take from JB regarding land usage. England is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. And funny old thing I don’t look out of my window and think “I wish that field was concreted over to house Afghans and Bomalians”. Of course JB can afford to live a way from such people hence the luxury belief he has.
@@DennieWallace-w8r Nothing you’ve just said addresses any of my points. England is still one the most densely populated parts of the world, 2nd most dense in Europe. Japan is an ethnically homogenous country with low crime and hight trust. Do you wish the UK to have a population of 120million. Do you not care for nature, trees, wildlife? Are you unaffected by flooding?

Family businesses are never smooth sailing but one clear leader is absolutely critical for the business to succeed.
Great chat gents!
He needs a head of digital to run his online infrastructure.
Another great pod. This content make me hungrier for success and I’m starving 😎

A country like Dubai 🤣🤣
Interesting fact: Samsung soared to fame after it swapped dried fish and groceries for smartphones and supersized TVs.
Where you start from isn’t always where you end 😊
