K4DOW gig indeed se7en is better, zodiac got some really good murder scenes and amazing cinematography by David Fincher. The basement scene was the most thrilling scene ever!! And i would check Mystic River out
It's an amazing movie and it deserves more attention. It is so disturbing and also harder to watch than many movies considered as horrors, a movie that shows human cruelty as its highest level without filters and leaves you upset and with the feeling you can't do anything
@@thomashellison1577 What about Michael Haneke? Have you seen The Seventh Continent? I sank into the terrifying depths of the Abyss(Jung/Camus), after watching it.
Roger Deakins is and always will be a master. because he shots The Master and Blade Runner 2049 and Skyfall and all these Masterpieces films. The Stunning vision of Roger Deakins will never stop.
this movie kept turning around in my head for months. The scenes are so climatic, so dense, you feel the cold, the rain, the fog, the fear. Roger Deakins my man!!
I looked long and hard for YEARS for a channel that makes exactly what you make. Thank you for all of this. And you seem to make the videos based on all of my favorite films!
Deakins walks this very thin line between noir and drama/tragedy so beautifully yet in a very subtle, never too stylistic way. And Villeneuve punches you in the gut continuously yet chooses to let us off the hook at the very end - a tiny glimmer of hope where he could have crushed what's left. A phenomenal movie that stays with you for a very long time.
An incredibly underrated gem of a film, its beautiful photography, strong script, incidental music (or lack thereof), aesthetics of the characters, general aesthetics of the film and the way of keeping you in constant attention for more than 2 hours make it truly exceptional, without However, I think I prefer it to remain that way, as a pleasure that few of us have had the joy of knowing.
mad respect for Chivo's work on Gravity, but this should have won the Academy Award. Or Inside Llewyn Davis (which I hope you make a video of sooner or later). 2013 was the year...
Its always astonishing to see, how Roger Deakins arranges Shots of the most usual and boring things like a grocery store at 1:18 and make them look breathakting and tense.
I hope Denis (and even Deakins) don’t get so “in demand” that they no longer make low key, grounded movies like this. As fun as Blade Runner and Dune are, Prisoners has left a bigger impression on me over the years.
Just the other day I saw this film. The shot was beautiful, but, to be honest, I still did not understand why many people like it so much .. I would like a video on "Donnie Darko"
Someone tell me how people pull footage to make videos like this, I really want to start a RUclips channel making videos like this but I don’t really know where they get the high-quality footage from
Amazing video but it missed the shot through the doorframe of the bathroom, with the two parents and paul dano being pinned against the wall by Jackman
Great cinematography and the movie was awesome, too. But I feel like it would have been better in a different format. 21:9 or 2:1 would have been more fitting.

Denis Villenueve & Roger Deakins, quite a powerful combination.
Like Nolan & Zimmer.
And soon, Denis Villeneuve & Hans Zimmer.
How About Roger Deakins, Nolan & Zimmer 🤭
Fincher and Reznor & Ross

I would say this movie has the most underappreciated cinematography in any movie I've seen. Deakins goes crazy with this film.
Prisoners is one of the best if not the best detective movie i've seen ( with Seven / The Silence of the Lambs / Department Q movies )

Dennis Villneuve is a genius. He shows the most darkest corners of human soul and nature! I can't live without Roger Deakins!
I do love Villeneuve and ALL of his films, but trust me, David Lynch does that better than everyone else in the history of cinema

I Can't wait to see The Goldfinch. The new movie this year. Cinematographed by Roger Deakins.
The Master is not shot by Deakins though, but yes it has stunning cinematography.
He didn't shot The Master, though I can see ehy tou would think that, The Master has one of the best cinematographies I have ever seen.
Roger Deakins' cinematography, Johann Johannsson's score and Denis Villeneuve's direction was just a perfect cinematic combo!!

One of Roger Deakins' many masterworks
Excellent video! Wish you had put the scene where Loki drives the girl to the hospital though. Some of my favorite visuals in a film this decade.
