Your soap making videos are the best of all that I have watched! I made soap with lye that I dripped from ashes when I lived in Northern Canada 40 years ago. My soap has always had iffy results (not always solidifying). Didn’t”t know different oils had different saponification values . I just mixed lye and fat of some kind and hoped for the best. I made several batches of soap using your recipe with coconut oil and olive oil for family and colleagues at school this year and got rave reviews and requests for more. Thank you so much . Your videos are great! I built my own two story log house in Canada in 1972 after I graduated from college. I bought 80 acres with tip money from waitressing during college. I felled the trees and peeled them all. Then dragged them to spot I was going to build by hand with one other person and some with my Volkswagen pick-up. Held two together with log dogs and ran a chainsaw between them to flatten the sides so they would fit together better. Used moss I gathered from the forest to insulate between them. I also built a bermed house was from cement block in Washington with just my two small children (5 and 6) . Had the house I live in now built on acreage. Am now starting the 4th homestead and plan on doing most of the work myself. That 5 year old is now 41 and she and I will be building her house and my house with help from some other family members (including her 5 and 7 year old ) .Again thank you for your wonderful uplifting can do videos !

Years ago I was down at the hardware store and they had a pallet of wild bird seed that was near the expiration date and they marked it down to 25cents a bag(twenty pound bags) I bought most of the pallet and took it home. I had two dozen production reds and was getting around a dozen eggs a day. I started putting out one bag of wild bird seed in the feeder each day and almost immediately I was getting 23 or 24 eggs a day every day until after I had used up all the wild bird seed.

Becky! We are doing it! We’re in our 60’s, and as of almost three weeks ago, we’ve taken the plunge with 8 hens; 2 barred rock, 2 golden comet, and 4 australorps. We bought them as adults and they average around five-six years old. We’ve been feeding your whole food recipe from day one. They were being fed more of a commercial, standard type feed with pellets, etc previously. We’re also adding in protein in the mornings. Question: they are not eating the black oil sunflower seeds nor are they eating the whole corn. Do you think it’s possible they are too set in their ways to begin on a new feed at this stage in the game? We don’t want to give up on this too soon, but we also want to be mindful that they need to be getting enough nutrition. They are also free ranging in a very large paddock, and getting plenty of opportunity for insects, bugs, worms, etc. We’d sure appreciate hearing back from you, but realize you can’t answer everyone’s questions. Thanks much for all you do! By the way, one of our Australorps is named for you; “Miss Becky.” 🥰
