X-MAXX 8S. Destroys Tekno 19 tooth pinion.

Back on stock wheels. Swapped the gearing to a brand new 50 tooth hardened Traxxas spur and a 19 tooth Tekno pinion.
Previously was running 20/50 all Traxxas hardened steel gearing but it wore badly and wouldn’t mesh correctly.
At the end of the video the Tekno Pinion loses half of its teeth and is now scrap.

Problem with this area is that when you need to lift the nose you have to jab the throttle pretty hard. Especially with smaller pinions and less wheel speed. The launch ramp is natural so unpredictable. Sometimes unavoidably you land with a little throttle applied. Which is why the Pinion got destroyed on that final slap. 👋
