An amazing video, thank you for posting it. I will be 78 years of age on my birthday next month, September. I can remember a huge number of Swifts quite high above the playground when I was in the infants school at Lower Bevendean, Brighton. I didn't know at the time but now looking back on it I'm guessing they were getting ready to migrate back whence they came.
Love this, thank you. I am struck by the way they use the ramp created leading to the entrance hole of the nest. I haven't seen this design before. does anyone know who designed this and whether there is any evidence regarding Swift's preference?
Mark created the ramp design following many years of observations. It was more successful than other box designs with front entrances that were trialled. Free plans can be found on our Bristol Swifts website on Swift Nest Box Design page.
Wonderful! Look forward to seeing the rest of the film.
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing. 😊

the position of the entrance does not facilitate access for the bird
