Dunno how this ended up in my recommended list after 11 years but man, that Jackdaw knows some serious bird-jitsu!! The Jackdaw grabbed the Kestrel with perfect holds every time! 😂
Wow such a brave jackdaw. Rescued one many years ago, a most intelligent creature & had the most sapphire blue eyes & a crown. Always remember the lovely scent of its feathers. Once recovered it returned to freedom, yet would visit me to say good day time to time. Just got called to the garden by a blackbird in distress, asked him what was up, he screeched & turned his eyes to the ground, there was a sparrow hawk. As soon as our eyes met it flew away. Dear black bird was making such a racket.
Amazing that it was actually the jackdaw gripping onto the kestrels feet. I'd have expected it to be the other way around, and no doubt the kestrel has much stronger legs and feet but the jackdaw always managed to grip it in the perfect spot, above the claws and just on the "ankle". There was nothing the Kestrel, with its stronger feet, could do about it. It's like a martial arts special hold, haha. EDIT once in the hold the Jackdaw also pecked and pecked the kestrels controlled foot and leg. This is a bird of prey's most valuable asset, he knew where to hurt it

At one point in the battle when the Kestrel was on top of the Jackdaw I could tell by his screams that the Kestrels claws dug home and deep into the Jackdaws body. Kestrels have a very strong grip in their feet. So it wasn't all Jackdaw winning. If the Kestrels mate had joined her together they could have prevailed. @@dancef2 На превью написано - ожесточенная битва между пустельгой и Галкой. А из-за чего борьба идёт, не написано. (я всё же угадала, это пустельга))))))
WOW!!! This is amazing to watch. How often does a human get to witness such a thing?
The fighting is truly vicious, and yet neither seems to be able to claim a vidtory. But I have the feeling it's NOT over yet. The Kestrels want that nest...
Fascinating the way they went in talons first...
So they battled and in the end neither bird took possession of the nest-box!
Actually that's not true. The JackDaw took control in the end
Amazing video
Jackdaws are small but strong! I've seen jacks fighting away a crow or magpie.
Yes and even a female Sparrowhawk check it out on youtube
Nice footage!! interesting how the Jackdaw uses hi legs, and beak. Strong bird I'd say. And I just realized how videos you have out. I will be subbing you, material looks very nice.
That was a very, very brave jackdaw indeed.
My cockatiel squawked in complete agreement, with both, for the entire scrap.
3:26 worst time to get raped by the male kestrel or what ever it was
hahahahha I though that
I kept imagining the Jackdaw telling the Kestrel "Oh! It's different, isn't it?! When the bird your attacking isn't smaller than you! When we're about the same size and you can't just muscle your way in here and eat me! You're not used to that are YOU!? I can do a lot of damage to you too you know!!"
3:26
*push* saved yer life! *flies away*
HAHAHAHA
even birds have a sense of humor XD
Jackdaws beak is crazy strong, and the kestrels talons are crazy sharp!
Jackdaw: you picked the wrong house fool!
Dang that kestrel gotta look at who she’s attacking not the jackdaw bragging her wings hope she’s okay
those birds are already dead because this video is 14 years ago
Great defense by jackdaw
wow.... never seen this before... i have j'daws nesting in my chimney here...love them....had baby tame one summer 07 too....that was some fight... not unlike people when in neighbour conflict....at first i thought the 2nd kestrel went in and didnt come out...lol but i replayed and saw it fly off... well i guess if you dont have a front door anyone can come in...lol it was funny in a way...and very very interesting ...
*Assassins creed 4?*
Very nice footage, these birds are intelligent fighters. SHOUTOUT to the Jackdaw for superior tactics
It has to be the jackdaw's greater intelligence won this battle.
Я наблюдал как несколько галочек гоняли по парку БЕЛКУ! У меня дома живет такой боец) очень умная и обезбашенная птичка)
2:40 3:08 pure ownage ^^ that jackdaw knows how to fight
this is what I needed before going to to sleep
When your cornered like that and your only priority was your kid's safety, like Ntwadumela, greet the intruder with fire.
"You don't even hold any of my house keys, sneak!"
Очень интересный материал . Спасибо .
Like how the jackdaw lay in wait top ambush the kestrel on its way in. Also found it amusing, that the jackdaw pulled the kestrel back in by it's feet when it tried to escape. Its like the other bird was done, and the jackdaw was warming up.
If only Europeans had the willingness to fight for their homelands the way this Jackdaw is fighting for its nest box.
Really, foreigners fight for the right to our lands harder than we do to defend them. That will all be coming to an end soon, thankfully.
Europe is on its path of becoming an ISLAMIC state unless the native people don't fight back and throw those radical Islamists out of their country.
@Targhan lol, ok
@Targhan Everybody gets what they deserve, don't they? And there's a price for everything. One day you will get the bill, as will we all, Insha'Allah.
