  • In this video, we explore the different types of attacks that hackers use to crack passwords. We start with passive attacks, which involve monitoring and recording information without any direct communication with the system. Then we move on to non-electronic attacks, which include shoulder surfing and social engineering. Offline attacks are also discussed, which involve getting hold of the password file and cracking it using various techniques such as rainbow tables and distributed network attacks. The video also delves into active online attacks, such as dictionary attacks, brute force attacks, rule-based attacks, hybrid attacks, guessing, and default passwords. Lastly, software- and hardware-based password crackers are explained, including Trojans, spyware, and keyloggers.
