I'd live to see a video with academia-aesthetics! Especially since there are a lot of subtypes which fit different archetypes, like light academia, dark, witchy, romantic, art, chaotic, ...

This was so fun! I would love more streams in this format with all the different archetypes.

I would love to see another aesthetic stream with something that closely aligns with the Amethyst logic, like witchcore or maybe vampire goth looks. I think seeing all the quadrants make adaptations in the opposite direction would be really interesting, especially for Moonstone. An over-the-top and elemental aesthetic could give new insights on how Down quadrants can do their own version of dramatic looks, how Right quadrants can work with rawness when they prioritize refinement, or other stereotypical LU things.
It was so informative to see examples of how each archetype can be inspired by the same theme and still create unique looks. The explanations for how the images related to their style logics were very helpful. This opened my mind to what's possible for me to wear and different ways that style concepts translate to style choices.

As a Left Up person, Lady Heretic, i can say that old money looks WORK for me when i dress for staying at home.
A classic pyjama set, maybe decorated with feathers on the sleeves and hems. Some velvet mules. A gorgeous cardigan or kimono on top. The stereotypical “rich man chilling in a personal library with a fireplace while sipping a strong drink and smoking an expensive cigar” look.
    Think about it 😏😏😏

Oh yeah i can totally see that!
I feel like i could pull off like... some historical dark academia vibes? It's not like.. Really old money as we think about it, but leaning more historical and luxurious feels a lot more accessible to me??

I feel that a LU Enchantress would do old money by wearing actual vintage couture, especially Elsa Schiaparelli, or possibly Dior. OR, silhouettes straight from the history books, but with modern fabrics and colors.

I can see that! Or maybe old McQueen: he designed by drawing inspo from historical costumes!
And Vivienne Vestwood with her out of this world jacket suits ❤❤❤

Me irl when I bought a black gored/paneled floor-length denim maxi skirt because it had a very similar silhouette so Edwardian styles. It's currently being tailored, I'm so excited to get it back so I can measure it and find an antique petticoat to match! I'm left-up but have been kinda bouncing around between enigma, siren, and enchantress, but I feel like this is a nudge from the universe lol

I like this style of video because even if the theme isn’t really me, it helps a lot with unpacking the difference types and making them less abstract ideas… I feel like I’m really learning.
Also part of that is the pictures. I love to see all the pictures you put together ☺️
Plus, we get to have a lot of fun 🥰 I hope you do more like these!

I recently came across the aesthetic "gorpcore" which is essentially hiking fashion, and since it feels like the complete opposite of the "old money" aesthetic I think it could be a lot of fun. I do love contrasts. (Also maybe Dark Academia, just because it's so very pretty 😅) And lovely video as always, Rita ❤️

I think one of the challenges for left quads doing old money is that old money aesthetic carrying a lot of baggage about performing a certain precise way in a certain situation in order to access prestige/power. Even tho we can do some of the “old money off-duty” things, it’s like you have to know the rules in order to effectively break them. For me old money really does have this vibe of “if you weren’t born here, you’ll never belong here” that makes it totally uninteresting to me, except maybe to mock it- perhaps that ties in to left need to make it tongue in cheek as well.

As a ruby, now I undestand better why I felt a little bit off when I was too “old money” another day. I felt like something was missing and maybe was some intriguing element. Thank you, Rita!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said your personal experience with this was during the Recession.
I think the root of this trend is in the great Inflation, so to speak.
Everything has become much more dear.
Popularizing the now expensive prices we are dealing with by framing them as part of a special aesthetic helps us accept higher prices accompanying minimalism.

I enjoyed the humorous take on Lady Heretic style thinking 😂 ❤
    P.S.
i use this archetype and i found that i can really use the humour to not take myself too seriously. I watched a video of Anya Taylor Joy. I think it was “what’s in your bag”: she took a bag from fancy book store in Paris, made sure to show that she always has two smart books with herself… then she was asked “what’s the thing that REALLY defines your style?”. She immediately answered “A scrunchie!” 😳 i didn’t want to beleive it at first. But then i saw an interview where she said how after avery gala/red carpet evening she goes to a crappy fast-food with a friend, or just does something incredibly infantile and “silly”. And i understood the scrunchie then! 😄 truing to learn from her in that regard
    P.P.S.
i don’t want to step on people and i don’t do it… but they (mostly women) react to me as if i definitely will step on them, or already did! It’s a bit sad, but WHATEVER 🙄 i have better things to do than to care not make that impression… 💃🏼

I'm pretty sure I'm LU (maybe RU) and I do not like the old money aesthetic on it's own (I can definitely combine it with other aesthetics). I was happy to hear and also expecting you to say it's not really for LU AND I also loved your perspective on what LU versions might look like.

Very helpful. I do like the old money aesthetic, and I’ve been trying to wear it, but on me it feels too soft and bland and kinda boring. I always get tired of my outfits easily and feel like something is missing. Since I’m a RU Priestess, this makes perfect sense. I’m still working on dressing for my archetype in my current life situation.

I watch the replays and it's so nice! It is so interesting to see the logic of each quadrant! I'm definitely a moonstone but I feel like I should dress like a up person to be elegant which feels not me at all! And watching this is a great brain reset tool 😄
I find it also very interesting to see how I lean in to ruby when I'm feeling a bit vulnerable or down but at the same time, if I do dress just for how my body feels, I feel so sloppy and undone.
I guess watching all of this makes it clearer why sometimes I love an outfit on others but not on me and why.
    Thanks ❤

I love this concept so much! What strikes me about the minimal elegant aesthetic is that it automatically looks more edgy on me as opposed to soft. The tailoring contrasts with my usual style, that tends to have softer silhouettes. The soft colors contrast with my bright coloring (I'm a warm spring that leans bright in the color analysis system, but even in general, I love saturated warm tones and can only handle certain colors desaturated as neutrals, like olive green, forest green, navy, slate blue etc). Because, like in Sweden, everyone where I live wears dark colors and neutrals all the time, I look most like myself (and stand out, sometimes in a "bad" way according to my parents lol) when I wear bright colors. Those automatically make me look like I tried harder than the people around me, even if I'm just wearing a sundress and sneakers lol. Even as an amethyst, I really enjoy the Moonstone versions - they're so cute and fun!

Amethyst here: tbh your honesty re: old money for amethyst was genuinely kinda validatilng bc like,, the reason i'm watching is to be like,, okay but Could i do this if i wanted to in a way that feels authentic to me? And the motivation behind that is Definitely a sense of needing to do it, not least bc i've Actual rich ppl in my family and i always feel like a bum in their company and i want to measure up. Combined with swedish city life being All About This and i want to fit in and play w the big kids, but i'm just Too Dang Weird, ya kno??
