Dude???????? This is flawless editing and voice over and coaching. Thank you 🙏🏼 “at some point it will start to click” this is my first “it clicked” moment. Training shoulder crunch sweep and this vid made it clear and seeing it in action and explained just enabled an “aha” moment
BJJ breakdowns with audio overlay is key. So many times I click on a video and the breakdown is just in type on the screen. This is far superior. Great video!
Very cool breakdown. One note is that when he attacks the "stepped up leg" at 3:47 his transition to SLX was more of a direct transition to Reverse X. The reason being was he had enough room to insert the hook and then transition to saddle. So while most of us will probably need to do the traditional SLX > Reverse X > Saddle, Gordo was able to skip SLX once he got Danis's hips elevated.
You have a great style. The timing with your narration is something that if I had seen videos this way before, I probably couldn’t finish them. You used this footage and made your own instructional. That’s amazing bro. Thank you.
There's a great video from years ago where Marcelo Garcia teaches this sweep from butterfly guard. I enjoy how you use real fight footage to analyze not just the details of the sweep, but also the as important setups to get to the sweep position.
You forgot one of the most important parts. The placement of Gordon's forearm or elbow under the opponents chin. This gives Gordon leverage to aide in sweeping the opponent. With the Chin being forced upward and over it makes the Sweep lot easier, and it's a distraction from the actual sweep taking place! If that elbow or forearm isn't in place then the opponent can still attempt to escape! A Blue Print must capture all the details!
Having a deadly leg lock game also keeps men guessing ,because they wanna keep their hips low to avoid entries that would allow him to take their legs ,but in trying to constantly maintain a good base and hide their lower half their upper half becomes open for attack.Good video and break down of the sweep .
Wow. I was just drilling this yesterday and this appears on my RUclips recommendations. Is RUclips monitoring my every move? Thank you for this! Very helpful.
Friendly suggestion, add some oldschool Runescape background music, it's a great Game and it matches your chill voice perfectly, also because the memes. As for the video, Ive been using this sweep for a year or so, the best detail I noticed that helped me a Lot was changing from gable grip to double wrist, that tightens the shoulder and it's really easy to flip your adversary. Great content, brother, stay safe!
The time to sweep the opponent is when they try to pull their arm out, this is a muscular response, meaning body these up, the force comes from the legs, making them riding along with the whole body, which makes the sweep easy.
In terms of modern BJJ, Marcelo Garcia put this technique on the map years before Gordon Ryan showed up. However people have been doing this forever. It’s pretty standard. This is hardly “Gordon’s” sweep.
The video has never been meant as Gordon inventing the move or being the first to pioneer it. In the video I cover Gordon Ryan's variation of the sweep, the set ups he uses, and how he handles the opponent's countermeasures when it fails. If I do a video going over Marcelo Garica I may go over how he goes about using the technique and the attacks he uses with it, however there are part of Garcia's game that I would prefer to go over.
Cool presentation of the technique! Only feedback on this technique in particular is you took the time to lay out key details but you missed the most important one! It could've been cool to show the old Danaher footage from the late 90s early 2000s using this grip and failing to the adjustment he made that let's Gordon succeed
Great video. I've always hated BJJ comps. It's not the art, it's the laying down. I just want to hammer fist the others head in when they lay back like this.
Gordon is a Wizard and I don't think anyone in professional Jiu Jitsu can stop him and what he will do to you. You can dislike it but you can't defeat it. BJJ is not just for Brazilians. Sorry
Cranking it could hurt to shoulder however if you're a responsible training partner and don't put a ton of pressure on the joint you should be fine. Also try not to do it to people who have shoulder issues in the gym if you can
BBJ is the greatest combat martial art... Yet at the same time the worst in a real world situations, like bar fight, street fight with where it never one on one, gang fight. Imagine going to the floor with someone while his friends kick you sleep. Standing up trading punches while your trying to grab someone. With bottles flying and chairs flying.
If I may a minor recommendation. Your viewers are as engaged in the content as you make them to be. If you sound like you're half asleep, that's how we will feel when watching your video, no matter how exhilarating the content is otherwise. Don't hate, I'm just trying to pass some constructive criticism :)
I actually like his slow speech. It makes to lend itself to the content which bjj typically is explosive fast. It matches the scrub speed… Lo ‘n slo ;)
You’ll generate little power if you’re stretched out and you risk giving the sweep to either side of you punch. If you’re that deep in the shoulder crunch you’ve made too many mistakes.
На плечо в любом спорте запрещены воздействия ,как и на кисть .Это уже японское джиу джитсу и военное самбо.Так можно и черепную коробку пережать локтем и горло сдавить пальцами.
Very trash!
skill issue
Pin of shame -L

Dude the voice over is absolutely horrible. It's so monotone and lacking in general presentation skills that it's BORING!
this channel is underrated af
Na the narration is super boring. Too monotone. Probably why.
Ur underrated af

Mate, sick content! I love these technical breakdowns, very comprehensive and valuable! Please keep it up! 👌🏻
Thank you for making the music suuuper quiett and light I can not ty enough for that.

That leg entanglement at the end is so good!
First vid on the channel I've seen, but so succinct. Short and sweet and detailed. Good work mate, subd
Wow. I was just drilling this yesterday and this appears on my RUclips recommendations. Is RUclips monitoring my every move? Thank you for this! Very helpful.
I subbed. Please keep making breakdown of GR. It's so intriguing, mate
New Sub - Great Work. GOAT Ryan is on fire. Any video breakdown of him will go viral.

Thank you for the Luffy image at the end.

My thoughts exactly
didn’t like how you kept going back to the super slow match that didn’t show the technique. Other than that, thank you so much brotha
More please 🙏
Cool stuff!
Great details...keep up the Great work 👍
Thanks for making it to the end of the video in today's era of 2 minute attention spans.
Learning to fly
But I ain’t got wings
There's a video on RUclips of Rickson doing this sweep at a private in a garage in 1995..
Very cool video 👌👍

Really good presentation ! We want some more specially bjj ty
Liked & suscribed
Nice bro !!
Nice breakdown. 2x playback speed
Marcelo Garcia já fazia isso a uns 500 anos atrás kkkk, apenas copiou o brasileiro
Does it work on the Gracies? Those guys have no shoulder😅
Oh you mean the Marcelo Garcia sweep ! Ok 👍🏼
Awsome video! Feels like ive come across a hiddwn gem here.
Awesome
Sounds like Mr. Rodgers teaching bjj
Nice job breaking this down
Great breakdown but the voice sounds like Cyrus the virus from con air, love the channel though 👌
Infact it's not a sweep developed by him. It's a sweep that Marcelo Garcia developed.
I hope Dustin P and Justin G watched this channel before their fight with Oliviera
Great video. I've always hated BJJ comps. It's not the art, it's the laying down. I just want to hammer fist the others head in when they lay back like this.
My boy sounds sleepy as f
Excellent breakdown. Suggestion: try amp up your voice energy during the narration.
Cool channel
Sweet science

Why did buchecha bring that left leg in?
yea sick
Marcelo Garcia's shoulder crunch sweep*
NICE LIKE IT YUP YUP OSS!
Faz vídeo do Mika Galvão
Which sport is it?
You should do a documentary on Charlie zelenoffs famous shoulder punch
can the shoulder crunch be dangerous to your training partner? I want to try this in Judo.

Best in the jungle, but one of the worst in a bar is how I think of it.
good shiit

No. You don’t need to be Stephen a smith for us to be engaged. Just put out content we love and as long as we fw you we good.
Danaher sounds like a MacBook reading an encyclopedia. He is a literal encyclopedia. If you want the knowledge you'll pay attention
@@keithcornell9521I was about to say the same thing. Danaher talks with the same tone and pacing for hours on end but I never get bored
Marcelo Garcia is the king of this game.
It's a shoulder clamp butterfly sweep. It's pretty basic old school stuff.
You’re kidding me w this voice right? And now everyone say OHM! OHM! i wanna throw my phone across the room now.
Turning off at 'excaping'. But will come back.
This would result in getting punched in the face with the other hand in MMA
