- Eight performers from the international sensation STOMP took to an outdoor basketball court in New York City’s Greenwich Village with four stars from the world famous Harlem Globetrotters to celebrate the team’s 90th year.
The unique collaboration directed by STOMP co-creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. School children at recess, tourists, locals and residents from nearby apartment windows watched in amazement as STOMP joined forces with Globetrotter stars Bull Bullard, Cheese Chisholm, Firefly Fisher, and Handles Franklin.

I'm not an expert on the rules of basketball, but I don't think that multi-colored ball should be on the court while all the other balls are in play.
Rules? You have never watched the Harlem Globtrotters I take it?
If no then I suggest you spend a bit of time on YT watching.
This comment made my day.
That's super racist.
ThyBountyHunter tis but a joke
u against multi colored balls? u racist
I remember going to their game as a kid.. the other team was really bad
Don't rag on my Generals!
No other team in history comes close to their undaunted spirit!
1:20 the girl 3rd from the left doesn't throw the ball when she's supposed to.
well spotted clark
Preston Granger Yeah, that stood out to me too. I suppose to get it perfect could have take too many takes.
now that i noticed that, i also noticed that there are many sounds that are added... the main beat is played by.. no one at that moment
snitch
Secret link is pretty cool today :)
i remember i was in high school when my teacher showed me STOMP performance video.... no one understood about STOMP around my family and friends... so i kept those memories for myself..... years later after i graduate my university and worked in Jakarta, i heard STOMP had showed in Jakarta, that moment i felt flashback to my childhood, so i bought 3 tickets for me and my close friends... best memory ever!! i cried after watched it. i never expected to see STOMP live performance... but destiny said so.... thank you.
They showed us stomp in music class in elementary school!
So much traveling the referee would lose breath blowing his whistle.
It's a performance
But 80 percent of people missed the bear walk through
Lmao Throwback Thursday
they look pretty good for being 90 years old
Are you stupid?
They didn't start when they were babies they must be about 110 years old.
Duh
sarcasm anyone?
Jetzido, you are a dumbass :)
+DeathCrackle
How stupid are YOU? You think Jetzido was serious?
its all the basketball they play
Most underviewed video of all time.
Keep sharing then :-)
I don't know anything really about Basketball or Stomp but I do know that the combination of the two is absolutely brilliant!
Good job everyone! Loved it!
well instead of telling you why don't i show you what stomp does!!!!!!!!! ruclips.net/video/fN5T8y8bCJ4/видео.html
Am I the only person to notice that the music doesnt match the stomp performers' dribbling? Great consept tho
+Griffin Driskell I think they gave up halfway through.
concept Fix it!!
Jesus... do they not even call traveling anymore in basketball? It should have been Washington Generals ball at 0:04.
If its streetball anything goes. And if you point out NBA players, most of the time the refs don't catch it because they are moving too fast, you as a viewer watching a TV is different than being on the floor running with them trying to catch all of the action.
That's why they're called "Globetrotters".
This, this marks the point in your life where nothing is ever fair ever again.
I think the whole point was to make a cool beat with basket balls. I guess when you saw all those people each with their own ball bouncing them in rhythm with each other you just assumed they were actually there to play a legit game.
Why are telling Jesus? What does He have to do with it?
As a reddit moderator of /r/videos or eHollywood as we like to call it in show biz, I have the power to make or break something in terms of viral. I am going to allow these guys to become famous. Thank me later
whitecleats ?
So you're the "gatekeeper" i keep hearing about.
It's shit, so not thanking you for anything
Yeah, because nobody has ever heard of the Harlem Globetrotters or Stomp before now.
Thank you for your service of great mighty lord.
Secret link of the day! Thanks, Phil. The performers did a really nice job! This was cool.
i got 3 burgers, one big kfc bucket and some icecream pregnant while watching this
reddit army is here
incredible. great job with the camera work as well.
I am blown away by the talent and love shown here. It doesn't even make sense why there are 177 people that have such a lame outlook on life that they would hate by disliking a brilliant creative endeavour such as this wicked video! Wow. Wish I was involved with this. My rhythmic body love would have been in heaven. Ha ha!!
They were supposed to show up today on my B-Day. No globetrotters. 🙁
Who knew STOMP was still a thing?
Thank you Defranco!
so many double dribbles
You know you're white when you're wondering "Where's Scooby Doo though?"
I got to see "STOMP" live once, years ago as part of a band trip in school. Was pretty damn cool.
*Thanks Phil!*
I'm not an expert in basketball but I think that there is no such thing as being too drunk to be able to give consent amirite? That thing that happened last weekend can hardly even be considered sex
looks amazing but the audio is dubbed over it. There are multiple instances where the audio doesn't quite match the video, but if don't get anal about it (like me), then it's a great watch.
Who is the most talented basket ball team out there? The Cavs? The Spurs? Golden state? the Clippers perhaps? Nah, the Harlem Globetrotters.
meanwhile, the Washington generals still don't know what a basketball looks like.
last time i saw these guys they were doing science on futurama
glad to see stomp still killing it after all these years
there needs to be a serious, artistic awards show for these shorts. the director/camera people are incredible
Fantastic!
Love how it dissolved into a game.
Jesus, 4000 views? this is awesome
hdf
Love Phil. Was this all shot in 1 continuous take?
This is awesome! I remember seeing the "Stomp Out Loud" video in 4th grade music class.
Awesome video! Great combo!
As a child of the 80s this (Harlem Globetrotters. Not Stomp, who I've never seen live, but seem cool!) is hitting me with a wave of nostalgia. I remember going to their "game" (show) at SeaWorld when I was probably 6 years old, then a few years after with my cousins when it came to Utah.
I feel less like i was watching basketball music right there but more like a drumline. It was awesome.
double dribble smh nba is rigged
Wow. This sounds better than most songs that get pop-radio play. This is art and performance. Awesome.
De Franco fam where you at
It's nice when the camera man pans around a lot, but not too much.
Travelling
I didn't know I needed this in my life, but I'm glad it is now. Great job!
Great, as usual! I can't wait for the next time that Stomp returns to Chicago!
Cue Birds of War song.
Carry and travelling... worse than Lebron! ;)
DOUBLE DRIBBLE
All in one shot. Really amazing.
now do it blindfolded
カッコ良い! Cool!!
Did not know that Don Cheadle was a baller.
It's like the opposite of the mannequin challenge lol
horrible ending. AMAZING TIMING at 1:05. HOLY SHIT
I kept waiting to find out what junk food I was supposed to go buy because of this commercial and it wasn't even a commercial! Now how am I supposed to choose a cola?
here froom phill, great vid and subbed
But it didn't end with everyone all consecutively taking and making a shot. Am disappoint.
So cool.
That was recorded elsewhere there were loads of examples where ball bouncing was matching up to the sound... :/
annoying that he is dribbling two colored balls and its not in the recording. if you're going to dub at least watch your video when your done to make sure things are lining up.
I'm just surprised Harlem Globetrotters still exist. I'll have to check them out one day.
I'm no baseketball expert, but I'm pretty sure they were all traveling.
the Washington generals look significantly more homeless these days. i guess 90 years of losing will do that to you.
one take? Either way impressive just wondering how impressive
Oh yeah?! Well, last year I mastered walking and chewing bubble gum at the same time!
It must take SO MUCH work to make a routine like this!! These are some dedicated artists.
Meadowlark Lemon is smiling from the Game in the Sky!
GETCHA! GETCHA HEAD IN THE GAME! YOU GOTTA GETCHA GETCHA GETHCA GETCHA HEAD IN THE GAME!!!
based on the rhythm, I thought they were gonna play the song "Buttercup" :/
I was going to say this video is racist but then I eventually noticed the token white guy :P
The dance took 7 tries, but the video is synced with the music. Not live.
They still did better against the globe trotters than the Washington Generals.
I love stomp, but just try and think of how many times they had to do this to get it right.
that was really great!
I was kind of waiting for someone to start whistling the harlem globe trotter theme song.
That's one helluva "check ball" to start a game...
But did you see the moonwalking bear?
But did you see the moonwalking bear?
One of the coolest things I've ever seen and I've seen some shit, as they say.
Sounds like Outkast - Morris Brown.
Signed in to upvote, not sure why more people haven't voted it up
im probably being overly skeptical but the acoustics in this dont add up to me, how do we hear such clear crisp ball slaps/bounces but in the video the STOMP members seem to barely be bouncing/grabbing the ball (especially the female ones it looks like)? Like at the end 1:53, do they just cut off whatever is picking up the sound because clearly we should hear multiple balls bouncing away but if you listen closely you just hear like one or two balls faintly rolling away?
It's a layered track, ball hits that should make some sound don't at all. Had me going at the start but it falls apart. Still cool though.
theres definitely more dribbling from somewhere else
This reminds me of growing up watching Nickelodeon and on the commercial breaks every now and the "Mr. Frears Ears" would come on. It was only about 45 seconds or so but it made beats out of daily situations and loved the hell out of it. Great job
"sry boys, cam wasn't rolling!"
Reminds me of the NIKE commercial
It would suck to be the one guy who messes up when doing this
Great performance!
What impressed me most? Not a single travel
What's more impressive than this act is the isolation of those sounds on a mic in that environment. Unless of course they just used pre-recorded sounds. But still impressive.
Westside STory 2016 addition
FOUL! Too much travel!
the camera man tho... 0-0
105 people have a lack of rhythm.
Is that Ethan "Bubblegum" Tate?
Where's Meadowlark Lemon?
Traveling
s/o to +Philip DeFranco
1:59 ...OSHA just shit themselves........
