The Suns are in need of a player like Marcus Smart, someone who can bring a lot of grit and defensive prowess to the team. They also need better role players who are willing to do the dirty work. Pursuing Kevin Durant may not have been the best option for them if it meant taking many steps backwards. Similarly, acquiring Beal is pointless as he misses more games than he plays and hasn't proven himself to be an effective point guard when his natural position is more of a dominant combo guard. Although Vogul may not have been the ideal coach for the Suns, considering the struggles of the Nuggets against the Timberwolves, being swept by the Timberwolves doesn't seem so bad after all.

Frank Vogel is an above average head coach, but a team has to have options for a coach to work with, to make adjustments with. What real options did Frank have at center, or PF, or PG? He could not go small, he could not go big, he could not throw in more perimeter shooters… That said, every year there are great players available after being waived or undrafted. The Heat are full of them, Austin Reeves was undrafted, Dante Divincenzo was let go by the Bucks a few years ago, and then last year the Warriors bought a late second round pick for cash and got TJD with it. So a great front office could find guys who could make the Suns at least a gee, maybe they could make a run team, although legit contenders would be a stretch. OKC is just going to get better from here as they get more experience, and use their still huge pile of draft picks. Anthony Edwards is The Man and just 22, and Wemby just needs a top level PG and PF to start making the NBA look like a D II league playing against NBA All-Stars. How is it that Frank Vogel (Your former championship coach of your Lakers) is "scapegoated" by the Phoenix Suns but your take on Darvin Ham is justified firing by the Los Angeles Lakers?
Coaches need more than a year or 2 to fix a team. It's not like they're firing Vogel for some great coach. The one they're looking at was also fired recently.
As a Booker and Durant supporter this squad didn't play a whole lot together but they also weren't very good when they did all play. However the Suns 3rd best player was injured, Grayson Allen didn't play this postseason so that definitely hurt their chances &Vogel absolutely didn't help them. But Booker has to be better, having just one game win which he scores over 25pts isn't gonna work &neither is KD attempting just 16-shots a night with just three 3PA per game. They need a younger offensive-minded coach &they need to dump Brad Beal on someone;the Knicks, Hawks, Bulls, Raptors & Nets are all legit options
Why would anybody be so stupid and take the worst contract in the entire NBA to help the Suns? The Knicks are in a great place and would never do that. Regarding the other teams. Beal has a NTC. If he doesnt want to be traded to the Hawks, Raptors or Nets (though no reason for them to do it at all), it isnt possible. Your new owner is horrible. Taking over a very good team with a future transforming it into this mess in only about one year. A dumb guy with too much money thinking this is 2k. Time for damage control. Keep Booker, who is still relatively young. Unlikely you will get rid of Beal. So one guy left. Trade KD, who will be 36 next season and wasnt particulary great 3 postseasons in a row already...try to get a few picks back and 2-3 decent roleplayers including a pg.
Frank Vogel is not the scapegoat. He is the reason for the Suns underachieving. I never thought he was a good coach. Back when he was with the Pacers, I thought he was a bad coach. The main reason why I think he's no good is cause his offense has always been at a slow pace like a damn turtle. The NBA is all about offense now, so if you're not going to change with the times, you're going to fail.
The problem with the suns is the new cba agreement of the salary cap being harder on teams who go the big 3 route it negatively impacts building a team. KD is not understanding the days of the warriors big 4 are over !! That will never happen again without sacrificing the depth of the team look at the okc team great example Boston is the one outlier of the team but I really don’t consider Porzingis a superstar. So it’s really brown n Tatum with a really good I mean good role players who can be reliable starter. I’ve noticed teams with one superstar or two superstars usually do better as a result of a big 3 because of the cap situation Adam silver placed on teams forming big 3. In other words the suns have no team when Booker or Durant or Beal sit. You can’t win games by relying on just 3 players. Not to mention no real true PG doesn’t help them trading Chris Paul was horrible honestly because it only landed them Bradley Beal which does nothing but slow the offense down on ball movement Beal needs the ball Booker needs the ball Durant definitely needs the ball there’s only 1 ball Chris Paul would of been a better fit I would of traded Ayton for a better center maybe Nick claxton or Mitch Robinson or vucevic from the bulls Drummond literally anyone beside nurkic he doesn’t fit either vucevic would fit tremendously if they get point guard
The Kevin Durant trade did not make sense - they gave up way too much for him. It would only have made sense if they were going to win a championship in the next couple of years, but the roster was not good enough for that, not after all the depth they traded away.
The Warriors are to blame for losing Kevin Durant because of their cowardly handling of Draymond Green. What would Red Auerbach have done if M.L. Carr had jumped in Larry Bird"s face and called him a b-----h at practice? Then the Jordan Poole thing and the assistant who jumped up on Poole at the same time Green punched him. Green is poisonous. Warriors management including Steve Kerr were cowardly and weak. And how did Steve Kerr treat Antman? Pretty stupidly.
I think Vogel is much better as an assistant coach. But he ain't why the Suns can't compete they got an ownership problem. Dude things big name players equate to playoff wins. That is just part of the recipe and when you look at the T-Wolves and Knicks who first brought in talent then built a bench and in the second year found some success. Even if this PHX roster was going to shoot and defend well enough to make some noise in the West you can't expect that to happen with a group that hasn't really played together much so cool fire the coach and see if you can cheat code the process. I take the UNDER lol
This is why great coaches should t coach for some of these megastars. They face zero accountability and responsibility, when Booker, when Beal, when Durant didn’t show up, like the whole team was a massive failure, how can this be on Vogels shoulders?
You are right about losing all remaining pieces for Bradley Beal. No faith in their skills at player development and coaching. Just buy it. Doesn't work. Look at the Nuggets, player development, team chemistry and CHARACTER..
A coach cannot save them. They don’t have anything to work with and they’re stuck with what they have. Frank did what he could with those pieces. It’s not his fault that KD, Book and especially Beal all underperformed in the playoffs.

Vogal scapegoated twice…..damn
Frank Vogel is not the scapegoat. He is the reason for the Suns underachieving. I never thought he was a good coach. Back when he was with the Pacers, I thought he was a bad coach. The main reason why I think he's no good is cause his offense has always been at a slow pace like a damn turtle. The NBA is all about offense now, so if you're not going to change with the times, you're going to fail.
I'm so sick of these 2000s old heads getting people fired because they can't carry a team like the could in their primes anymore.
Preach
Beals damned😂
Matt isbiya should hire Darvin Scam
I'm curious how many PLAYER PICKED head coaches have actually led a team to the conference finals, much less won a ring
Look at the Nuggets, player development, team chemistry and CHARACTER..
booker a better compliment scorer next to kd than steph? lmaoooooo
The owner wants to win now, but doesn't know how to do it, or doesn't realize that it takes time.
Doc Rivers will be the new coach!
They should get Darvin
A coach cannot save them. They don’t have anything to work with and they’re stuck with what they have. Frank did what he could with those pieces. It’s not his fault that KD, Book and especially Beal all underperformed in the playoffs.
