Had a decent accident myself down there a few weeks ago, ended up having to leave the van down there because of it. Highly recommend The Field Camping site in Coleford, who let me leave the van there for a week while I sorted out getting it recovered. Great place to stay, five minutes from FOD, geared up for bikers and lovely owners to boot.

Nice one helping what I love with the mtb guys good heart's alot of them! I'm just back on a bike this year after a bad accident a few years ago lost all confidence in the bike but that itch had to be scratched so got an emtb lol like learning all over again though been away to long and the extra weight both me and the bike but hopefully get there and meet the goals! New sub!

Well done Jim.. I've been down the Forest a couple of times with the wife but not done any of the runs you have been on as we're both in our 70s & I used to do Motocross back in the 80s/90s but now only stay where I can be safe but good on you stopping to help that young lad because I know what it's like to fall at speed & at your age you should also take it careful because the old bones ain't as young as your mind thinks until you hurt yourself.. But great camera work & keep it up my man.

Mountain biking is a dangerous hobby, I’m just on my way back from fracturing two vertebrae from a very serious accident. Thankfully I’m on the mend & back out & about. I am a very lucky lad & will always wear a back protector on every ride. Hope that lads okay

I like Fod I’ve signed up for a dig day there next week, the section they’ve done recently on the free miners trail with a new skills area below is good fun, I’m pretty much a Cannock local too the forestry there none of them ride I’m sure it feels like they wish mtb would just go away and die 😂, hope that lads back on his bike soon, Fods the only place I’ve tried wearing a full face but the minute I go back to the van I’m back in the half lid 😂

All of the trail development work that has been completed, in the last 3-4 years, or is in progress at the FoD, is because the Forestry has Rangers who are on board with mountain biking and are riders themselves. The FoD is one of the few Forestry England locations where this is the case.
FE get a lot of criticism, and it’s very often unfair, but as someone who volunteers with the DTV, and regards the FoD as my ‘local’, I know how lucky we are.
@@markyp1965 I totally get that mate, but remember that place is making a killing on parking and food/drink/bike shop profit because of the riders being there. So it should be their duty to help out injured riders really
