Dan Wheldon Killed on Lap 13 of IZOD IndyCar World Championships

Horrible tragedy at the IZOD IndyCar World Championships. Dan Wheldon, winner of the Indianapolis 500 and a guy who we interviewed at the Ortsbo event, passed away on lap 13. The race went under red flag after the 15 pile crash. Everyone sat and waited as Dan Wheldon was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital. There was a two hour delay until the news was announced. The drivers did a five lap salute to Dan Wheldon.

I remember watching the whole race and I saw the crash on lap 12, it was so devastating to watch. Then when I heard the news that he passes away, I was about to start crying. I felt so bad for him, and his family. RIP Dan Wheldon #77
