When I was a teen, I used to work at logistics as a summer job and they had a container who made exactly the same air-sound as this song. I used to whistle that song all summer long.

Was eight when I first heard this album. Back then you still had album's and casettes, music stores in the mall, etc. My dad was so proud that I had a great taste in music. He was a good man.
this and so many other songs that didn't get the spotlight unlike Clint eastwood and feel good inc, I am glad to be a gorillaz fan bcuz all of their songs are equally as great as each other
Those songs got the spotlight because they were singles. Singles tend to be played at music stations the most and get their own videos. They were supposed to get the spotlight.
I asked my parents to get me this cd at Tower Records, Las Vegas the year it came out. Jeez, I must've been 9 or 10 years old then. At that time, we had two homes, one in Las Vegas, NV and one in central California (where my dad worked). We would travel back and forth at least twice a month by car. I had a cheap portable disc player and would listen to this CD the whole six hour drive; laying down on the back seat, watching falling stars across the cold desert skies. A blur of good childhood memories.
This has been my favorite Gorillaz song for years, it's so calming yet melancholy. It describes how i feel whenever i get out of a deep depression but i still have some depression still looming over me, i feel free yet still not great really
It's like youre depressed and the song understands and relates. Even though you are still depressed, it feels nice to know something or someone understands and that's okay.
This takes me back to December 2001 when I got this album , sat in my room with the CD player on playing Slow country and watching the traffic driving on the snow. Great memories
Damon, you probably won't see this, but I need to tell you. I'm 31 years old now, an American through and through, and this first Gorlillaz album has helped to shape my life. From teenage years of trying to make out, through college, and dealing with more serious life issues, to now. I'm in my 30s, and still love this stuff after a hard day's work. Cheers.

I just listened to Slow Country for the first time in awhile and god damn lol when I first got into Gorillaz (January 2022) I was in a bad place mentally, my grandma moved out of the house, we just had my grandpa’s memorial and winter depression was really eating at me I live in Minnesota so it gets to be -30 degrees Fahrenheit so it really does get to you, but anyways after I found Gorillaz I would listen to their first album all the time on repeat, it took me away from everything and I would just use their music to cope, I remember listening to Slow Country so much that winter, being so cold and numb everyday, the same thing over and over, the freezing bus ride to school, going to the same classes, getting home and laying in bed waiting for it to repeat again, I listened to that damn album so much. It used to take me away from everything but now it just brings me back, Slow Country really gets me because the lyrics describe shitty, repetitive, lonely city life, I kinda felt like that was me in a way. It’s weird I’ve never really felt that way with a song
as someone who also lives in minnesota and has horrible seasonal depression in the winter, i absolutely feel you.. it gets hard sometimes here😭😭 theres some music i had on repeat during my depressive episodes that i just cant listen to anymore because of the feelings it brings back, but having something to distract you in those times is something everyone needs for sure
i love this song so very much. to me, it's representative of more than just a song; it transports me back to my teenage years. i still vividly recall the first time i'd ever heard it: four of my friends and myself were driving around on lonesome country roads at about four in the morning, passing a blunt and bullshitting about everyday life as the soft orange glow of the backwoods streetlights slowly passed by. we were a large group of friends that gradually whittled down into smaller and smaller groups as the years passed. some of those friends are still around, some moved to other sides of the country, shit, some of them are dead. but whenever i hear this song, the visage of their faces and the timbre of their voices instantly comes back to me, as though not a day had passed. funny how the brain works; certain arbitrary things seem to unlock memories that you had otherwise thought to be long-since abandoned. nostalgia is great, but the melancholy nature of it sometimes becomes difficult to bear.

I was in awe. this song changed my life. it got me more into Gorillaz and I thank slow country for that. thank you slow country. this song gives me such a melancholy and chill vibe. like watching the sunset paint the air gold over a pasture in June listening to the faint sound of bugs buzzing about filling the sky with distant sound of crickets and locusts as I sit on my porch watching the sun fall.jeez man I could talk about this song all day

my favorite part is the synth at 0:48 and 1:43
that and the beautiful piano riff at the start
the first time i was introduced to this song was in a video some guy was talking about how good the song was (at this time wasn't really into Gorillaz just kinda casual fan) and he played a bit of the song and when I heard the little bit it instantly grabbed my attention and I was like woah. then I finished the video and listened to the whole song and It just brought out so many emotions good and bad cause I was still going through a pretty tough break up so I was weak and the song just sounded so amazing I fell to my knees and cried my eyes out. I was in awe. this song changed my life. it got me more into Gorillaz and I thank slow country for that. thank you slow country. this song gives me such a melancholy and chill vibe. like watching the sunset paint the air gold over a pasture in June listening to the faint sound of bugs buzzing about filling the sky with distant sound of crickets and locusts as I sit on my porch watching the sun fall.jeez man I could talk about this song all day
Listening to this on vacation, standing on the balcony and watching the view around you is really a different feeling, amazing track and my favorite along with Starshine
This album will always be great, when my dad gave it to me i was really happy, i couldn't stop playing it
"Get a lot of problems. Get a lot of problems." :( "Can't stand your loneliness". I never realized how heart breaking this song is until right meow.
While you kinda depressing, Gorillaz make you sad, happy, and makes you feel a lil' retro 90's vibe with this music btw
This is one of my favorite songs by them. 💖💖 It's just so relaxing.
OMG!! They are uploading all the songs now!!! ^^
This one speaks deeply to my 10 year old self. I can’t explain it.
I can’t help but cheese so hard when this song comes on, it’s so great

this is THE song to listen to while you stare at big city lights at night, it's so magical it doesn't even feel real
This sound like you’re walking into a gas station at 4AM
once again, simple song with a great beat and a great feeling, as usual!!! beautiful and original!
slow country and punk have to be my favorite songs on this album.

I've always loved this song. Very atmospheric
I like to listen to this song when it rains, the opening sounds like wind.
its sampled from ghost town by the specials, which i highly recommend listening to if you haven't already :)
Update: 2-D can't stand your loneliness
More development on this story as it unfolds..

This is such a slow and beautiful song I love it so much❤️
The pingu mep meep is killing me 😂😂😂😂😂
When I hear this song it reminded me of a dream I had where I was in isolation in a very white room with an a/c blowing cold ass air
3:02 I love that so much. The way he sings it, then the smooth transition into the piano. MMM.
Honestly I’ve been listening to this band since I was 9 and watching it grow (new albums, more art, u get the idea) is so fun
Estos tíos son todo en el mundo de la musica
