This song rocks! So simple, but it drives the beat and progression with such relentless stamina that one can only conclude: F YES! 🤘🤪🤘 Also, one of the best heavy rock songs for tambourine! It really kicks that chorus beat into overdrive!
YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEAAAYYYYYYYYYYAAHHHH!!!!!!! As Ian Astbury would say! I've been waiting ages for a decent Wild Flower tutorial and you've nailed it. There are so many other Cult songs you could do from their unbelievable back catalogue I couldn't begin to request them all here, and what a coincidence that I was only watching the Billy Duffy documentary last week (look for it people "Pursuit of Tone" it's very good). Thanks again, this is awesome!!
Stressing to listen to a song many times well before laying fingers to the fretboard is extremely important because it trains your ears to become very acute. Then, your musicianship curve becomes very steep. I would listen to a song all day long, roll off the bass, balance to the guitar string side and move about the room and I would pick out different things. I would go out into the car and do this and sit in each seat corner. You won't believe how much these things train your ears and improve your playing skills. Watching/listening to different peoples videos is also very important to learn the most correct chord, licks, solos, techniques and effects. It's a great hobby and I am so glad that I stuck with it when I first started playing the instrument.
Wow, thank you. It sounds basic, yet is a great rock song to play. First time I heard this song my mates and I were driving to a surf camp. Great memories!
Great lesson and good tips on the soloing to figure it out yourself with the chord box notes. With the Cult songs, they're all pretty similar so if you know one song the rest are a piece of cake. Thanks Justin, Cheers.
This is such an interesting song to study. Billy Duffy plays it differently live each time he plays it. Frequently he plays down and up strumming. Sometimes he mutes and sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he plays the D cowboy chord, sometimes the barre. NONE of what he plays live sounds like the record. This video is the first I've seen that gets 99% close to my ear. I still think I'm hearing more than just the A string on the opening riff. Sounds like he's alternating between barre B and cowboy A to me. Thanks for posting this vid!
Justin always appreciate the accuracy and the simple way you explain especially the rythm part. You are the only one i have seen to do that. It helps a lot and save time Many thanks from old guitarist from Paris
Mate I've just watched this lesson with a little nostalgia! I remember jamming this tune with you back in about '90. I love this tune and love your lessons!
Thanks Justin! Saw them last night at The Greek and sent myself a note to learn this one_ it's Fun! (Apologies in advance dear neighbors) Happy Fathers Day all you Father's
Thanks Justin. Finally got to see one of your videos- loved the lesson, explanations are clear and yet giving room for the viewer to learn on their own too. great job! :)
Justin, you're the best guitar teacher on youtube ever! It's very interesting the way you teach the songs and I've learned how to play a lot of songs watching your videos. Thank you and congrats!
You are my fav you-tube guitar tutor! You always choose the great stuff and break it down for us less seasoned peeps :D Would love more Stone Temple Pilots and AIC please!!
