I know the show breaks a lot of the story’s lore but it was enjoyable to watch and see the set pieces. Also your ending should have Adar saying “Daddy loves you very much” and then show all the orcs furiously stabbing him 🤣
It was clear as to why the orcs turned on Adar. That head most trusted Orc questioned Adar's love for them as his children when he forged them ahead when it appeared that they were losing in battle. When that particular Orc called Adar by name and then said to him "ADAR, You said you loved us..." before Adar made the final decision to continue the campaign that cost so many Orc lives. From that point on the Orcs developed doubt about Adar's love for them. When that trusted leader Orc found Sauron, and Sauron asked his name, Sauron no doubt engaged in some sort of dialog and sensed that apparent doubt, perhaps pretending that he loved the Orcs more so, causing that particular Orc, Adar's most trusted leader, to flip.. At the end of the episode that same orc briefed Sauron about the progress of the war telling Sauron (right before Sauron kills him) that if they continued fighting that more Orc lives would be lost, Sauron kills him. He killed him using the same reason that was used to flip him against Adar. Perhaps seeing a disdained weakness of that particular Orc when it came to other orc lives. At that point Sauron wanted no weaknesses because he had fully installed himself as the leader of the Orcs and had little concern for their lives and had no use for wimpering loose ends crying about love and how many lives being lost in battle.
It explained why the orcs turned on Adar. It doesn't explain why they would follow Sauron. Apparently the orcs just wanted peace, and they know Sauron won't provide that. I think they didn't show it, because they don't know how to explain it.
Sauron is no friend of the orcs and will callously kill them. Yes Adar does care more for the orcs but he knows how dangerous Sauron is so is willing to go to war and sacrifice orcs to destroy Sauron and orcs aren't happy about that but that's no reason for orcs to ally themselves with Sauron. My guess is Sauron used mind game trickery as he has the power to create illusions and convinced the orcs that he was the best choice to look after orc interests. Sauron actually showed he can do much more than create illusions but can actually control minds like he did with the elf soldiers to get them to kill each other so it's possible he is controlling the orcs to kill Adar. But that's silly in itself as Sauron is so powerful he could have just walked up and kill Adar himself without any orc help or ruse. It's obvious Sauron is way more powerful than Adar as he has power to create illusions, mind control, magic to transform himself from Halbrand to Sauron and we haven't seen all his magic powers yet. Plus he is physically strong in combat. That being said I would have liked a better ending for Adar. It's a waste of a good character after all the buildup.
One thing they never explained is why Adar is so taken with orcs and why he cares for them. He is an elf before and they're not exactly friendly with orcs.
It was lame to have Adar die so soon, especially after having such a momentous show of heart that proved to the audience that he might truly be a hero after all. Right when the character shines and shows potential, they kill him off. I really wanted to see more of him. I would also love to see a lot less of the hobbit c-plot.
Yeah just stabbing him like that was a waste. They spent 7 episodes building him up for an epic showdown with Sauron only to be killed by his own orcs. He is a more interesting character then Sauron.
Feanor was Celebrimbor's grandfather. His father was Curufin (who was killed in Doriath during the second kin slaying in an attempt to take the silmaril from King Dior.
I think Sauron wants both. He really loves Gal, but in his psychotic dark possessive way. It's like Hannibal & Will dynamic. Look at Celebrimbor - he loved him too, but still killed him. Also think he stabbed Gal with crown near her heart to corrupt her spirit from inside - "Bind to my very being"
No he doesn't care for her but just wants the rings. This is the Sauron who doesn't care for anyone. But when he was Halbrand they played up this potential romance where he hinted he wanted her to be his Queen which she obviously is opposed after learning he's now Sauron. So no there's no love or care for her.
That was awesome when Sensai Bombadil taught Gamdalf how to wield by making his wax on/wax off his Limbo for a long time and them Gandalf was prepared to block Sauron attacks
Thank you for summing up S2! I've enjoyed it, the same as your video. Looking forward to S3, especially the wars between Elves and Sauron. And I hope Gil-galad and Elendil will finally meet.
I enjoyed it! I'm not particularly obsessed with LOTR, but I appreciate the story and the lessons it teaches us about love ❤, friendship 🤝, loyalty 🤗, power 💪, kindness 🌼, and cruelty 😔.
Sauron and his deception are so true of the present world leaders and the battle of the common man with everything around it. Even though it is a work of fiction, I simply loved the way Sauron's character is presented, evil that is prevalent, silent, cunning and highly manipulative.
Disguised as love and willingness to help those who cannot help themselves Sauron's deception is deep. Even after Celebrimbor knew who he truly was he was still manipulated to complete the rings. Looking at both candidates for president of the US, i see this manipulation.
It wasn't just being a master manipulator that enabled Sauron to turn the orcs against Adar. Or Adar's insistence on having them continue to fight when so many were being killed which caused doubt. It was Sauron's mind control! Saw this coming after watching E6. But I still bawled when Adar was killed. 😭 Especially after he gave Galadriel back her ring. The ring did not only change his appearance. It had changed him both inside and out. Cleared the cobwebs, so to speak. But too late. 😢

It was really cool. I was worried they would do the fall of Kazzadum in one episode. They stayed down there for almost a year fighting the Balrog. They closed off the mine and no one really knows what happened in that year.
Serious bad assery but what exactly was the point of jumping with an 🪓 to his death? But epic ending. Guess when he took off the ring he realized his mistake and tried to make amends?

What was badass? If the balrog just move two metres back, the dwarf would have fallen into his death without the balrog even lifting a finger. And like all scenes with big monsters: they do not pose a threat because like the worm and Arondir or the troll and Elrond or the ghosts in the forest, just one or two hits with the sword and they're gone... boring.

Loved it, Sauron was amazing. Really excited for Season 3, Can't wait for this story to lead up to the LOTR prologue. I hope they redo the scenes from that with the new actors. Isildur ! lol
Really enjoyed Season 2. Season 1 was tougher to get through because of story building, but after two episodes of Season 2, I went back and re-watched Season 1 with new appreciation for the weaving and building of the story. So many threads, like when Halbrand suggests to Galadriel while in prison on Numenor that she should find what the Queen Reagent fears and not use it to control the Queen Reagent, but to help her master it so that Galadriel can then master the Queen Reagent. That tactic is the entirety of the story of the rings - whether it's using the greed of the dwarves to conquer their fear of loss, the fear men have of mortality, or the elves of their fear they, and their creations, would fade into irrelevance and their pride would not endure. The greatest achievement was the writing and acting to deliver and work the deceit in such a way as to not go over the top with villainy, but convince each person that he comes in contact with that he gave them a choice that they would gladly take and that he's blameless that they took the paths they did to their ruin. I am really looking forward to Season 3. I hope they explore the Blue Wizards, the east and south, the corruption of men along side the downfall of Numenor, the fall of Khazad-dum and so much more to explore.
Season 3 - A huge war against Sauron breaks out with Numenor Capturing him. Season 4 - Sauron continues to corrupt eveything while in chains. Numenor is eventually drowned out. Elendil becomes King. Season 5 - Sauron has the One Ring with the Elves and Men uniting for the Last Alliance.
My question is why would they choose to make the stranger Gandalf when they have two blue Wizards they could have chosen from. Gandalf didn't come to Middle Earth until the third age. They really got the wrong people to do the show. They should have chose people who knew about the story.
Mainly because they are squishing a bunch of events in this. All of the events that have happened in this show take place over decades of warfare and subterfuge.
I think that the first earthquake in khaza dum had a result that boulder falls down and destroys a path way in half ,i think that in fellowship of the ring when the gang first enters Moria they find a path with stairs with a big gap ,where frodo jumps and aragorn catches him! I think its the same place....what you guys think?
I think it’s a great improvement on season one. And that’s coming from somebody who liked the first season. After finishing season two, I went back and binged season one, and while I’m not a fan of all of the writing. I think it really gets the heart of Tolken in both his theology and his themes. season two steps that up and focuses on characters that I really care about. Like both Charles Edwards and Charlie vickers performances this season are just awe-inspiring. I think there’s plenty of things to criticize about the show, like all shows, but I think the strong fan base who likes it really likes it and I’m one of them. Also, my God, Barry McCreery!! If you don’t agree with me on anything else, you have to agree that Bear McCreary is just killing it.
When I first watched Season 1 last year, I though, "Meh - entertaining, but not so good." This year, after watching S2, E1, decided to go back and watch Season 1 again. Liked it better the second time. But Season 2 was still so much better!
I love it! some parts were dragging, but overall it's a great show and all the storylines of Middle Earth and why everything happened ties to the future in what happens in LOTR in the 3rd age...
This season (Not taking into account The Property as a whole but simply as A Series) was 100 times more intriguing and Simply better than the first in every aspect. Most importantly In my opinion the writing.
First season was mostly setup of characters so it took half a season to get the story going. But this season is gets more interesting with the crafting of the rings. It's a pretty good story which was never covered in Peter Jackson's 6 part movies. Definitely an improvement and ignore the critics who just complain about diverse elves. That being said the Halbrand to Sauron transition is ridiculous. And Gandalf takes way too long to remember his powers.
Season 2 was much better than Season 1. The writing is still crappy at times but it's getting better. Sauron and Celebrimbor, Elrond, the Dwarves and Elendil kinda carries this series for me thus far.
Season 2 had more action. First season was stretchy, they onlyv revealed sauron in last episode. Until this you didn't really know where the storyline is headed and what is the purpose of the characters. So in season 2 the purpose is clear and everything is in action towards to that
People are complex Noone is the ultimate evil everyone has cracks and pain hidden deep it is what it is i like the expansion of his character he was barely a character in the lots or hobbit
As much as I enjoyed the Balrog scene, it paints the writers into a huge plot hole corner. Instead of thousands of years of Khazad-dum’s greatness, now it’s a good couple of years. The wrong Durin (III vs VI) gets killed, ok fine creative licensing, but his son doesn’t make note of what he actually saw as “Durin’s Bane”? Unlike the books, there were surviving witnesses to the Balrog’s presence. Balin sure would’ve appreciated a post-it note or something. Or Durin telling of his father’s death to his brother from another mother Elrond, who might’ve seen but definitely would’ve heard of Balrogs in the first age, as Gil-Galad’s herald? Describe a Balrog without actually describing a Balrog. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Elrond would have mentioned it to Galadriel or Gil-Galad, whose father was actually killed by a Balrog. Or go to Glorfindel and say “remember that time you died? What did that dude look like that murdered you?” It changes the Fellowship of the Ring where the White Council would’ve said “Balrog? Under no circumstances go thru Moria with the ring!” No Moria, no Gandalf the White, no Sharkey, etc.
This show is getting great viewership numbers. Egg on the face of the toxic haters and whiners lol Now, truth be told, I am not a fan and barely made it past a few episodes but the way the coordinated internet hate was so toxic and vindictive really rubbed me the wrong way. It is ok not to like something but people were being nasty and mean. For that alone, I celebrate the show's success.
Probably the best comment I read all day, thank you man, you made my day, honestly, I like this show, and I totally understand people that don't, it's not a perfect show, but the hate community jump on this show like it's the worst thing ever made, and istead of not watching it and leave at that they prefere to go online and try to hate the show out of existence, and any positive thing you say about it they hate on you on a personal level for no reason, I had people calling me several things just because I dare to like this show... So it's very refreshing to see people like you here, that don't like, but do respect, so thank you so much for this comment!!
@@eduardofranco8528 The thing is, this is an objectively bad show. The pacing is all off, camera shots don't make sense.. even the set design/costumes don't scream 1 billion dollars. Why are we accepting anything less? You can enjoy something, sure, but the truth is that if they had actual show runners that were more faithful to & had a love for the source material, you'd probably enjoy the show even more... so I ask again, why are we accepting less? Personally, I watch every episode because of my deep love for the world, characters & story Tolkien has built; the names are even buzzwords for me. It's hard to get through sometimes, and to see all this money being spent on a story that was quite honestly simple to pull off (look at the video games using the same source material)... it's soul sucking.
The ending of Lord of the Rings Return of the King would of been way better if Sauron actually had a form where the audience could actually see him suffer and then die instead of eye in the sky that doesn't show pain. The good guys suffer the whole movie and the ultimate bad guy is dead in 5 seconds the bad guy should suffer the same or more in the end
What beats me is that why that balrog who is easily able to smash through mountain rocks even bedrock had not come forth till During or During came down to him to say hello I mean he can get out of there but why he had not
I liked both seasons. It's too bad they didn't buy the rights to more but nevertheless they are doing a great job with what they have. I am looking forward to season 3.
Clearly the stranger was Gandalf from season 1. And the Dark wizard is Saruman. Even though this makes no sense. I believe the show runners are not imaginative enough for anything else.
To me, everything with gandalf and "saruman" made no sense. Saruman is meant to be a power of good in the hobbit so why is he evil as far back? The sauron part with anatar on the other end i actually enjoyed
I don’t think she’s strong/powerful enough yet. The battle in the Hobbit is a thousand years after the events of Rings of Power when she’s had time to hone her craft and powers
In the movie, the personification of her as "a Queen, terrible as the ..." was if she had the One Ring, not Nenya. Nenya is a Healing ring, new life. That's its superpower. You saw what it did to Adar, right? Healed him physically and also, healed his mind. Cleared out some of the bitter "cobwebs". It didn't give him superpower to overtake Sauron. He knew that and gave it back to Galadriel as a token of reconcilation of elves and orcs working together to rid Middle Earth of Sauron.
@@janislevy1ify in the Hobbit series, she uses her ring to obliterate the orc and also fights back against Sauron in Dol Goldur, she isn’t wearing the one ring then. Her ring also repels darkness and evil and is a source of light protection as well.
They could still have made an incredible series and *NOT* ripped up so much of Tolkien's original canon. So many times during this show I've just thought "WTF?"

While it's not terrible, a lot of character develoment was sacrificed for the plot, often very dull and the intrigue was subpar since Sauron was right when he said to Calebrimbor that they think too highly of him. They basically put themselves in the situation and Galadriel doesn't seem to learn her lesson, all of it could have been avoided so many times. I did like the Dwarven characters and story, Elrond was alright and seemed to be the only one with a brain. The Numenor coup was forced, people seem to switch loyalty from one person to the next on a whim and feels inauthentic with lots of wattery eyes acting and supposed emotional stories that also feel forced and rushed. Sauron his actor and persona was well done but didn't fit the pacing of other main characters, everything together I'd give it a 6.5/10
I don't hate this show, but I don't love it 🤷🏻♀ I watch it but I often find myself fast forwarding through it when I get bored... but I still wanna know what's going to happen, even when technically I know what's going to happen 🤣 However, if someone asked me, I would trade this series for a 2nd season of My Lady Jane without having to think twice 😆
Oh that’s so nice of you but tell me how any of this makes sense? Isildir is in the beginning of the first. Live and this show is suppose to be thousands of years before that
If the rings have these healing powers why not just put it on Galadriel when she decided to suicide jump off a cliff? If mithril was what saved the realm of London why did they need rings at all? Just sprinkle mithril everywhere? What do these things actually do? It's very consistent
Also, the elf of colour, who got stabbed with a huge sword in the last episode, you know the one when the battle began and gets continued in this episode..... ya he's totally fine all of a sudden, someone even fixed his clothes and armor, super cool.
The Series is an absolute desaster. I wouldn't give a shit, if it wasn't meant to be a LotR franchise. But it's a slap in the face for any true fan. Or at least somebody, who thinks space and time and logic would be relevant.
Sauron is actually the good guy. The elves deceive and betray each other, humans, ururks. Even Adar just used the orks and used his father image to manipulate them - which led to his fall. Sauron just wants to put an end to it and bring peace but is forced to play with their rules. Elves as well as Gandalf just used Bilbo and Frodo later as well, willingly. The elves, human and dwarf societies were rotten. Sauron later just used their behaviour to each other against them. Even in our reality, humans are rotten and not fit to govern themselves, would be better if AI would take Control, because humans are just way too rotten and history proved that over and over. Humans should not be allowed to govern themselves.
This series' Sauron is way better than just 'The Eye', what a super creepy & psychopath villain, Charlie Vickers is doing a great job with Sauron. I can't wait for season 3.
I liked it a lot. Peter Jackson’s movies were not 100% faithful to the books but that doesn’t make them any less awesome. Same with this series. Season 1 was a little uneven but I think it started firing on cylinders with season 2.
💍What did you think of season 2?💍

@@nicomalIt was mind control. Now they are enslaved.
First they betray Sauron to serve Adar, now they betray Adar to serve Sauron...They make perfect comedy of Orcs... It's one big joke
11:33 what do I think will happen in season 2?
😂
😂🤣😂
just started watching the clip and only because of the intro I want to say: keep it up, love your videos!
Question: When Galadriel started falling off the cliff, do you think Sauron tried to reach for her or the ring or both?
I want to believe to save her but he also straight stabbed her 😭😭😭
I think Sauron wants both. He really loves Gal, but in his psychotic dark possessive way. It's like Hannibal & Will dynamic. Look at Celebrimbor - he loved him too, but still killed him. Also think he stabbed Gal with crown near her heart to corrupt her spirit from inside - "Bind to my very being"
Hahahaha.Good one
No he doesn't care for her but just wants the rings. This is the Sauron who doesn't care for anyone. But when he was Halbrand they played up this potential romance where he hinted he wanted her to be his Queen which she obviously is opposed after learning he's now Sauron. So no there's no love or care for her.
Never both, just the ring.
So Tom Bombadil was Olivander from Harry Potter all along😂
That was awesome when Sensai Bombadil taught Gamdalf how to wield by making his wax on/wax off his Limbo for a long time and them Gandalf was prepared to block Sauron attacks
I thought it was a Jack Black parody!
One undoing Sauron I think was a reference to ONE RING. Not Frodo.
Absolutely loved this season so far, especially this final episode! Really hope they make an amazing season 3!
Thank you for summing up S2! I've enjoyed it, the same as your video. Looking forward to S3, especially the wars between Elves and Sauron. And I hope Gil-galad and Elendil will finally meet.
When I read what you wrote under Kemen’s name I could not stop laughing.
I enjoyed it! I'm not particularly obsessed with LOTR, but I appreciate the story and the lessons it teaches us about love ❤, friendship 🤝, loyalty 🤗, power 💪, kindness 🌼, and cruelty 😔.
I can't wait for season 3.
Sauron and his deception are so true of the present world leaders and the battle of the common man with everything around it. Even though it is a work of fiction, I simply loved the way Sauron's character is presented, evil that is prevalent, silent, cunning and highly manipulative.
Lol fr? This show is balls
Disguised as love and willingness to help those who cannot help themselves Sauron's deception is deep. Even after Celebrimbor knew who he truly was he was still manipulated to complete the rings. Looking at both candidates for president of the US, i see this manipulation.
People supporting this dog shit show have mental issues
It also shows how seductive the quest for power is and how it can devour good people.
@@MaryBrod-ie9wi it's by no means supposed to convey that. Sauron is just pure evil, there is no process here.

What do the rings actually do?

THAT WAS A BADASS WAY FOR A DWARF TO DIE !!! Personally i loved the dwarf plot .
It really reminded me of the last scene with Matthew McConaughey versus the dragon in Reign of Fire.
Don't try to understand the work of retar...ded people... much less explain them. Otherwise you are probably part of this generation of talentless people. 10 years ago, these films or series would never have seen the light of day.
What was badass? If the balrog just move two metres back, the dwarf would have fallen into his death without the balrog even lifting a finger. And like all scenes with big monsters: they do not pose a threat because like the worm and Arondir or the troll and Elrond or the ghosts in the forest, just one or two hits with the sword and they're gone... boring.
The rings of Men will be interesting. The 9 Kings turned into Ring Wraiths. Slaves to the ring.
I fear and suspect Theo will become a ring wraith 😭
That will be epic. Peter Jackson's masterpiece never showed what happened and only told the story in a short flashback.

The creators of the show have already said in an interview today that the Dark Wizard being Saurmon wouldn’t make sense. So most likely it’s a blue.
Kinda hoping he's only posing as an Istari and he's just a fake.
Should've used that logic when it came to "Grandelf"

Totally loved season 2!
I really loved this season and the last but I hate that the ratings of this series are low. I hope they will complete it😅
Season 3 - A huge war against Sauron breaks out with Numenor Capturing him.
My question is, why they make gandalf a bumbling amnesiac.
Can't wait for Season 3
I think that the first earthquake in khaza dum had a result that boulder falls down and destroys a path way in half ,i think that in fellowship of the ring when the gang first enters Moria they find a path with stairs with a big gap ,where frodo jumps and aragorn catches him! I think its the same place....what you guys think?
Your answer is wrong
She just sat there and watched the orcs kill Adar. The most powerful she elf looked weak in episodes 6,7 and 8.
Cos the plot require her to be weak. Thus they nerf the mary sue.
I was as entertained as that time I had constipation for a week.
We have to wait for another 2 yrs 😭😭
Sauron was the one who carried the entire season for me.
This is a bad ass show. Kudos to amazon prime. Love the whole middle earth world
I love it! some parts were dragging, but overall it's a great show and all the storylines of Middle Earth and why everything happened ties to the future in what happens in LOTR in the 3rd age...
To be clear.. the elven rings are not corrupt by Sauron making Elrond wrong? Or they are corrupt????
Which is it??
The rings are whatever they need to be as the "plot" requires them to be.

Lmao
Joking right?
First season was mostly setup of characters so it took half a season to get the story going. But this season is gets more interesting with the crafting of the rings. It's a pretty good story which was never covered in Peter Jackson's 6 part movies. Definitely an improvement and ignore the critics who just complain about diverse elves. Season 2 had more action. First season was stretchy, they onlyv revealed sauron in last episode. Until this you didn't really know where the storyline is headed and what is the purpose of the characters. So in season 2 the purpose is clear and everything is in action towards to that
The season 2 has been excellent. Waiting for Wheels of Time now.

Sauron steals the show❤
Yes. The evil guy who cause countless death and countless widows n orphans.
Lets root for him.

I disagree with suffering part, but I agree they should show him in his physical form, even before ending, and he should have more screen present
I believe he was talking about Gollum, not Frodo!
What beats me is that why that balrog who is easily able to smash through mountain rocks even bedrock had not come forth till During or During came down to him to say hello I mean he can get out of there but why he had not
Tolkien claimed it was sleeping till disturbed by them mining deep - i.e. breaking into its caves
I liked both seasons. It's too bad they didn't buy the rights to more but nevertheless they are doing a great job with what they have. I am looking forward to season 3.
I think the Tolken estate did not allow them to do more because they did not want to sell more rights to other books
Celebrimbor was the grandson of feanor. Not his son
Clearly the stranger was Gandalf from season 1. And the Dark wizard is Saruman. Even though this makes no sense. I believe the show runners are not imaginative enough for anything else.
... this specific outro is so soothing to me ... i really like it , a lot.
To me, everything with gandalf and "saruman" made no sense. Saruman is meant to be a power of good in the hobbit so why is he evil as far back?
The sauron part with anatar on the other end i actually enjoyed
I thought Galadriel was gonna use nenya against Sauron or does it not work like it did in the movies?
