Hi y'all, thank you for your kind comments. For anybody questioning my gardening techniques: Of course I put the cardboard next to the potatoes to stop the grass growing there 😄
Hab da ja keine Ahnung von, doch denke, werd schon schief gehen 🥳😂✌
PS: dein Paradies scheint zu gedeihen … 🌾🌻💐🎩
Your videos are always fun to watch and it makes me wanna work more😊
you can use bleach to kill n clean the mold.... also check this out.. how to grow potatoes no digging ruclips.net/video/atcXuRijMtM/видео.html
I’m a new subscriber! You are such an inspiration! Congratulations on following through with accomplishing your dreams!
Just found your chanel. And your personality is so addictive, that i feel it. I'm even getting more happier by you. Beside that i love to see what you. You get me as an subscriber
Eucalyptus bark is not good to use in a woodstove or fireplace. It creates excessive sticky residue in the chimney which is hard to remove and over time can start a chimney fire. If your only option is to burn Eucalyptus you need to have your stove pipe cleaned regularly . Best just not to burn it.
I love learning even more in the comment section. Thank you for this!
That is very correct, happened to us, chimney fire!
Chimney pipes like those should be cleaned every year, regardless of what wood you use
Thank you, will not use it as a starter anymore!
@@bernadinemarr8432 agree but no sense using some of the most risky burning materials.
Everything you're doing on your land is beautiful. How do you afford to have all this help and to do such expensive projects? Are you like a doctoror something? What else do you do?
You are developing your land into a beautiful dream property, Maya! I love to watch you use all of the resources your land provides. You are starting at the perfect age. Thank you for sharing!
Always good to have nice neighbours helping wirh machineries and time.
The more you grow, the more you know.🤗
No bad weather, only bad clothing. Love your show out here on the West Coast of B.C.
Yay, Sunday night special, for us in Australia 😅 🇦🇺
Its 5pm
I know, right? I always look forward to a new upload from Maya. 😊
same here in melbourne!
Sunday morning here in OKLAHOMA 😊
11:25 am
Spring is a good time to cut back mimosa and dead growth. Damp proofing the front door upstairs corner from the old retaining wall. Preparing for utilities in the basement room. Use cut logs to border the potato bed.
Now that Project Kamp is on hiatus, I am glad I can get my mimosa clearing content here.
Hahaha right?! Gotta get it somewhere!
Maya, beautiful to watch all the hard work you are putting into your home and land. Spot on with 'Gardener's dream', absolutely my kind of world. Keep sharing, waiting to see the potato patch progress.🌿🌎🍀
I always look forward to your videos…you’re so positive and a hard working woman.
We look forward to this every Sunday morning! Thanks!
Spectacular and talented Maya
My favorite weather is seeing you 😊
Omg that’s a lot of water coming down the river. Stay safe and warm ❤❤
Spring is a lot of work but so much fun🎉🎉
The grass you collected is great material for mulching or an addition to your compost pile. Good time for the first compost pile mix of the season.
Great job surgically opening the corner of the house for waterproofing. I hope you are gratified to know that your labor to waterproof the rest of the building was 100% effective! 🤓👍
Wonderful job mulch you new potato bed! Greens and browns, grass and woodchips, f grasses sneak through in spite of your efforts, buy a bale of clean dry straw (not hay) and add a thick layer on top. Potato's like to grow in straw.
Be sure to go around the perimeter of your property and strim the mimosa sprouts while they are young. You will have to do this several times this year and next.
Awesome work, Go Girl, it’s great to see women learning about construction, building & kick’n ass
Cheers
Spring is my favorite time of the year, because the Earth springs forth, New Life.
Hi Maya. Nice Homestead.
With your saw buck if you move the middle X closer to one end you’ll find it easier to cut.
Mold: “Pour enough undiluted white vinegar into the empty spray bottle to cover the area of mold growth. Spray the mold directly, fully saturating it with the vinegar, and allow the vinegar to sit for at least an hour. Don't be tempted to scrub or rinse; the mold needs time to completely absorb the vinegar.”
3:10…. Great recycling idea for the seed boxes!!
We have black mould that randomly grows every few years we use 'dettol mould and mildew remover' and it's absolutely amazing!
Hi Maya,
Another enjoyable video.
Great work on the saw horse.
Take care.
Cheers, Huw
So happy you have a warm and cosy place to stay, and next winter you're going to have a real bathroom and a lot more living space, probably. It's really coming together...! 🎉😊
So good to see you having so much strength and motivation. Keep up your motivation for the last and best part of your achievements.
Happy to see your smile. Glad you have a warm, dry home.
Im exited for the seedlings OMG 😱
😁When planting potatoes you need to cut the whole potato into sections where just the eye is. One potato can provide six or even eight plants. There is no need to plant the whole potato.🥰
I think everything she put on top of the potatoes is good except the cardboard that will prevent the green stems from coming up won't it?
I was wondering about putting the cardboard on top as well. I've never seen anyone do that so it'll be interesting to see if it works.
@@kimberlyearly8918 I will be really surprised if it does ..cardboard is put down so nothing can come up into the garden...Hope we get an update
@@gingernotturno5365 I saw her reply to someone else and she said she just put the cardboard between the rows of potatoes to keep weeds from coming up.
@@kimberlyearly8918 cardboard was between the 3 rows of potato's :)
Lovely property. Enjoy watching and love your achievements. You work so very hard.
Your video’s are so joyful and inspiring. Thank you Maya ! 💕🌷🙏
Always binge watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
Your community around you is amazing. Helping each other moving forward. It’s lovely seeing the new life, spring is a beautiful time of year
Lovely that your seedlings are sprouting.
I hope you get your damp sorted, mould is bad for your health.
Everything you’re doing is moving towards making your life easier 👌
LG Elke
Mine is 75 to 80 with sunglasses for the sunshine, a highball of pineapple and grey goose and a cool breeze off the water to enjoy and appreciate being alive🌹
I have thoroughly enjoyed your channel. I am looking forward to your next post.
One tip: I find a cheap small tarp useful to place weeds and trimmings on. You can drag the tarp and dump it easily where you want.
Nice tip. 😄
Wood dust is superb for the trees and garden
Bravo Maya ! Keep going forward, you're doing à fantastic job😊
Such a happy, positive channel, thank you 🙏 🇦🇺
It’s great to have friends who are willing to help you out. So much work to do now that spring has arrived and the weather is a bit better. Good luck for all the jobs you have planned for the new season Maya xx😊😊
Good job planting the potatoes. Planting them in the soil where nothing has been planted before will result in a good crop and covering them the way you have will protect them if it turns cold. You probably won`t have to earth them up either (cover the new growth with earth).
So happy to spend a bit of my morning with you. When you cut a tree down either for maintenance and safety or for firewood, do you plant another to future proof your tree stock. Greetings from 🇬🇧🐈🙏🌻
You have such a contagious personality. Really enjoyed seeing you put things together.
Try spraying Clorox bleach or whatever brand of bleach on your mold. I got rid of mine that way. Also, helps if you put a primer on it after the bleach dries, then repaint the area.you have a beautiful place!
Bleach in porous areas causes the mould spores to hide into the pores. Try cleaning vinegar or hydrogen peroxide first. Once mould is dead you can wash surface with bleach to get rid of stain, then paint.
Bleach doesn’t kill mold, just discolors it. Use vinegar.
25 degrees and a soft breeze 😊
I don't think I have ever seen cardboard put on top of the planted potatoes-----but, what the heck! I guess I'm not too old to learn a German trick or two, eh? Great work with great friends is always a pleasure to watch and the outcome seems to keep you grinning. Thanks, Maya!
This is also a surprise for me. Not sure potatoes will be strong enough to pierce cardboard. My understanding was to use cardboard on top of the soil (o prevent weeds from growing and to feed worms) and then mulch, grass or organic stuff. Potatoes are planted in holes in the mulch or even in the cardboard.
Hello, I put the cardboard in between the potatoes to stop the grass growing there 😀
Maya, vinegar is what we use to kill the mould and the mould spores then bleach to discolour the mould. Bleach does not kill mould it just whitens it.
I'm in Sydney Australia and I like 25°
Oi Maya bom dia!
For the furture you can cut the potatos into multiple pieces as long as there is at least on sprout on it, my family usually halves them to double the amount
about 22 degrees celsius and sunshine. 2o is still a little cold. Amazing how industrious you are. Enjoying the videos
Try a slingshot, using a nut with string tied to it through the front of the sling and then tie the rope to that after you’ve sent it over the branch etc..
☕️ for Ms Feliz! 😊Bom dia
Well done my New friend
By
use white vinegar solution should neutralise the mold
Wow look how long and how green the grass is now after so much rain and now the sun x
For your front door, perhaps (when u get the time), a little roof to protect the door area.
Hi from California what a warrior you are!
Dir weiterhin viel Erfolg!
I love what you are doing. You are getting good at the power tools too!
75 degrees ferinheit and sunny 🌞 in wyoming
Thank you for your wonderful videos, they help me stay optimistic and positive, lift up my mood :)
If you’ve fixed the moisture problem then soap and water will work just fine for cleaning the mould.
Kudos 👍🏾 gr8 job Ms M, 👏🏽 💓🤙🏾👌🏾
Awesome Job Mya. Let us know when the AirBnB's are ready 😊
You can cut sprouting/seed potatoes in half with a shoot/eye on each half, and that way you can plant twice as many!
Loving your videos. My Sunday afternoon special in India
Great Video Maya and how you are living the Life !! Eucalyptus trees did you know that they rely on fire to survive and reproduce and you have plenty surrounding you great work you and your friends have done, be safe and take care out there.❤❤❤
Hail from the cactus and sand state of Arizona, USA! Might I mention a medic alert system? It is a bracelet on your wrist with push button to alert emergency service in case of fall or other problem. Good when u live alone.
Love from India
20C Sunny, works well for me to..
My favorite kind of day is warm, partly cloudy and breezy. Today is on of this days. 😍🐸
Never a quiet day for you Maya,it will all be worth the hard work. 💚
Hello Maya:Bom dia...This year it has been raining a lot, something not very usual in these parts; But it turns out to be good for nature. All the best. Tchau. 😉✌️
I do the same thing with the tree, hilarious.
Haii my first comment..... Halo apa kabar from Indonesia❤❤
You know, you can cut the potatoes before planting them. Aand the you have more. As long as they have a sprout on each piece, facing upwards when planted, it will grow.
Good morning Maya from the UK.
You never fail to amaze me with your skills, and how your so in tune with your land it's beautiful to see.
I also love the relationships you have with Paul/neighbours etc that you help each other to do stuff, it's so refreshing to see.
Just wondering does your parents worry about you being there alone throughout all the winter etc?.
Also will you be able to generate power from your waterwheel soon to help to keep costs to a minimum?.
Great video, thank you, looking forward to next weeks already 😃👌🌈🤟
What a pleasure to watch this young lady working like this great having friends and neighbors to help never needed a wood heater we are in NORTH QUEENSLAND Australia we don't have a winter. Best of luck with your nex job,😊
Keep going Maya, amazing as always x
Definitely Spring 😊 well done Maya 😊🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
What I love most about your property is you !
Kia ora from New Zealand
Buen dia beautiful Maya.. eggplant is also a best choice to plant..
Ca 25 degrees, sunshine and on my back soaking up the heat ❤
10 degrees and sunny is my favorite spring weather
20c with sun is the best indeed not to hot to work / be active but also nice enough for being outside with no need for a jacket ect when you sitting still
I am a do it youselfer too. consider getting a hand planer and a palm router. Use the hand planar to take off the top 1/16 of an inch on your boards (faster than a sander) and use a router with a 1/4 inch roundover bit to round edges on your boards. Over time if you do this enough it will be a good investment. I use it on a fence we have around our back yard. I saw something on youtube saying that the best way to plant potatoes is by planting them in containers. Then when it time to harvest them you just dump them out of the container. I didn't follow it through until the end but you might want to look into that.
Thank you for your videos my husband and I are also working on our beautiful land and we love watching your various challengers, ideas, your smile and positive outlook also helps us going too as sometimes we all have had days. Love from Wales x
Love your channel that I have recently found and admire the way you get stuck in, great vlogs. Well done.
That is the perfect one.
In order for you to produce potatoes, the soil must be cultivated deeply
I'm excited to follow your adventures and can't wait to see what else you build. While a cat or a dog? .. Or chickens for eggs and meat, or a cow for milk? Or sheep and goats? It's true that you have so much to do, but... But. You know what is best for you, and the important thing is that your paradise delights and to enjoy you first. I'm happy you exist.
It's always lovely to see you working on your property, Maya. I love your persistence, your creativity, and always look forward to seeing what you are going to create next. And I love to watch your happy dance! ❤
Your property is looking better now and planting potatoes is going to be fun.
Looking forward to seeing more of your garden and flowers 🌺
