@@jimmywarren6685 awsome! just make sure you check the stock screws and the screw down by the trigger I suggest putting a little blue lock tight on them. And then check them regularly as you shoot it as well. if you start shooting bad groups it is usually due to the stock screws getting loose .Just FYI.
awsome good to know that some H%N pellets work well in this gun as well. I have not tried anything else sinnce finding the 18grain JAB pellets workeing so well for me. thanks for watching and the comment.
I got one a couple days ago waiting for it to be shipped I’m super exited and can’t really find much reviews on this one specifically, I’m 100% going to buy the same scope you have and take it to be sighted in
awsome and any UTG scope will work well on this gun from 4x32 to a 3x9x40 or a hawk scope in the same range. let me know how you like it once you get to shooting it.
Best gun hands down outta my gen 3 mags too! My whisper and DX are my favorite! You don’t need anything else but this DX ! I’ve pushed so many people to grab this $139 Gamo USA 👊🏻👍💪 never fails !
i think a good way to eliminate flyers is to sort the pellets,or at least take more notice of the condition of them before you put them in the mag,i quite often see a bad pellet after ive put it in the mag!
thanks for watching and the comment appreciate it. And I do try and look at the pellets and check the skirts before putting them in.. I have noticed over the years with the budgets guns that there is a consistant them of shooting for really tight shots and then one will go out side the group a little some times just a little and other times a little more then that. But I keep trying my best to eliminate them or midi gate them.
@@BravoBassin yes i have same problem,i guess not all the pellets can be exactly the same even if they look identical! but from your groups with that rifle i wouldnt be too worried :)
So for me and what I have found out over the years is as long as my air rifle is shooting good tight groups I do not clean my barrel. if the groups start to open up or be in consistent then I will clean my barrel. But I will check all my stock and scope screws first. And if they are all tight then I will clean it. what that boils down to is if I am shooting a lot which is 2 or 3 times a week then I might clean my barrel 2 times a year maybe. But most of the time I might clean it once a year and what I mean by cleaning it is I run a bore snake down the barrel 2 or 3 times and I am good. This applies to all my air rifles as well and I own several high end springers such as weihrauch, beaman, And several PCP air rifles as well and I do this with all of them. Just fyi after cleaning your rifle it will take abot 20 to 30 shots or so for it to settle back down into your tight groups again sometimes. Hope that helps.
no I have not had that ever happen to me on any rifle. BUt I am also not using the scope or rings the gun came with as they are crap. I am using a utg scope and rings on this gun. I will say that when shooting spring air rifles you need to check all your screws including the one on your scope regularly.
@@josiah1999bass no probelm and I hope that helped. thanks for watching the channel and if you have anymore wuestions I will try and answer them the best I can.
I’ve never messed with adjusting the trigger on any of my Gamo’s ! Is there a reason too? Gorilla glued my stock screws today! They creep a lot ! Shot over a 1,000 pellets no problems yet 👊🏻
I have never needed to adjust my trigger either but the so called air gun experts all complain it and tell you that is what you need to do. Me personally it is just fine for me. Not sure using gorilla glue on your stock screws was a good idea though. Blue lock tight is what you really should use and it does the job just fine and still allows you to be able to take the screws out if you ever need to gorilla glue is going to be pretty hard to un screw those screws if you ever need to.
So, I just bought the Swarm Whisper off Amazon about a week ago for just a touch more than this DX. However, the look of the DX, the presumably better sound reduction and the adjustable metal trigger are making me want to return the whisper and just get this. Any reason not to?
well I have never shot the whisper so can't really say which one is better then the other. What I can say is that the grip feel weight and accuracy of the gamo DX are spot on for me. it shoots well quarter size groups at 30yds all day long and has been a pleasure so far to own and shoot for me. I actually like it a little better then my gamo bone collector gen3i not that there is anything wrong with my bone collector because I love it as well. but I find myself reaching for the Swarm DX more. As far as the adjustable trigger you can make some adjustments but not enough to really make a difference at least in my opinion. I leave the trippers stock as they are pretty good right out of the box in my experience. I guess the question really is do you like the gun you already have and does it shoot well and fit you? if not then send it back and get the swarm dx is would I would say.
@@puzzlefighter8801 well that kinda sucks I would have to move from that state for sure. I hate states that restrict air rifles so stupid in my opinion.
I have the Gamo elite maxim 10x here in the U.K. very much like yours but with a wood stock, I agree the scope that comes with it is crap, I’ve ordered a Hawke 3-9x50ao, great video mate👍🏼
thanks for the great comment and I love hawk scopes I use them or UTG scopes for my air guns. I have tried others but keep coming back to those two brands of scopes.
What do you think of Gamo's BSA OPTICS Outlook 3-9×40 AO (adjustable objective) scope. I am looking for a good scope for this gun an I want one with an adjustable objective, which the UTG scope you used in your video does not have. Thank you for your time,
UTG does make a 3x9x40 AO scope which is very nice and I use several of them on my air rifles I have used a BSA 3x9x40 AO before not the outlook one but the problem was that it could not handle the spring recoil shock from the rifle and would always get knock out of alinment and I was always having to re zero it. For me the 2 scope companies that have worked well have been UTG or Hawk but there are many otheres as well. I would just say make sure that if you buy that scope that it is rated for using on spring air rifles. Because not all scopes are rated for air rifles.
@@josiah1999bass yes most utg scopes come with scope ring and they usually will have 2 versions either picatinny rail ring mounts or dove tail ring mounts so when looking at scopes always check to see what type of rings mounts are included UTG usually will make the same scope with either or. You will need dove tail ring mounts for the Swarm DX.
the stock screws are under the rubber grips on the front sides of the stock. you will need a flat head screw driver and if you look there is a little spot to slide the screw driver in to lift up and remove them and under there you will see the stock screws. take a little blue lock tight and put it on the screws and tighten them back down. but even after doing that you should check them once in a while. hope yours shoots as good as mine does let me know how it goes.
Most importantly how loud is it ? I am shocked with all the decibel apps on our phones no-one is reporting the decibels? Bought a Synergis and had to wear hearing protection and neighbors complained. I have three acres of land.
well since I do not have a decibel meter I can only give you a compairison as I live on 4 acres of land myself. this is not the quietest air rifle but not the loudest either the sound you hear from the gun in the video is about how loud it will be in person. the best thing I can compair it to is the sound of a small trim air nail gun if you have ever used or heard what that sounds like. I can tell you though that you will not need hearing protection to shoot this air rifle as it is in no way that loud.
It IS a great gun for the price! As you said,, the scope isn't that good. Thank you for advice on scopes. I have an Osprey on mine right now. I hope it lasts because I am spot on at 40 yards.
thanks for the comment and watching the video and great you have this gun as well. Ya scope can be tough to find that will last on spring air rifles the ones I mentioned are the ones that have worked for me for years now.
Ya the Gamo scopes suck in my opinion but a Hawk or UTG work great. I am currently testing a Hatsan Optima 3x9x40AO scope I got from BASS pro so far so good and I got it for $59 so I hope it holds up as I am always trying to find good Air irfles scopes that are budget friendly.
I bought a Gamo a few years ago that was impossible to sight in with any scope or the sights provided.. It shot so far left that it was impossible to make anything line up.
thanks for the comment and I will address this as maybe there are things you did not or do not understand about spring air rifles. First thing when you get a spring air rifle you need to check all the stock screw and make sure there tight which I addressed in this video. this is something you need to do regularly and easy way to know when is if you gun is shooting great and then all the sudden you are all over the place then it is time to tighten them up again. Second you need to find the right pellet and weight of pellet to shoot out of it as all of them like something a little different. 3rd cleaning the barrel and getting the packing grease out of it helps as well. and finally how you hold and shoot it trigger squeeze are all factors that play into the accuracy of an air rifle especially a spring air rifle. they are very hold sensitive but once you master these things they can be super accurate. Now I would love to know which gamo you actually had? but for me I own 3 Gamo break barrel air rifles and all 3 of them are tack drivers and shoot great and I have had zero issues with them. I have the gamo varmit .22 the gamo bone collecter gen3 10x .22 and this gamo swarm DX .22. I will say and did say in the video that the included scope gamo gives you sucks and I wish they would add a better scope to these packages. Also My gamo varnit hunter .22 which is an older Gamo I have owned since 2012 or 2013 and it is still going strong and still shoots great. Now with all that being said if you did all this and know all this and it still shot bad then I think you got a bad one which does happen sometimes. But as a whole for me and I can only speak to mu experiences with the rifles I have used for a good budget air rifle Gamo has been great for me. But if you really want to get the top of the line super accurate air rifle that you can pass down to generations then you need to look at Weihrauch, beeman, diana, and air arms which make the best in the world top spring air rifles out there and I own a few of them myself and there is nothing out there that can even touch them. But they are pricey as well. Anyway hope that helps and sorry for the long reply but just wanted to try help and maybe clarify a few things on why it might have shot so bad.
Honestly I would go with the UTG 3x9x40 or the Hawk 3x9x40 on the Magnum .25 cal. Somfar on this gun it has been fin but I know those magnums have a lot more kick to them then this gun does. So that is what I would recommend anyway.
@@romanvalerio3343 I saw that and would love to et one but i have shoudler and back and neck injuries that keep me from being able to shoot those magnum springers because of the cocking force it takes to cock them. but thanks for the suggestion as it is a greaat gun and thansk again for watching the channel as well. I have several more air rifles to review this year that I will be doing videos on so there will be a lot more air rifle content coming.
lol! well just do your research and get the one you really want and the one that will work for your needs. For me I have different ones for different critters I shoot. But if I could only have one it would be my weihrauch HW97K but but most won't spend that kind of money on an air rifle.
I have not shot the swarm fusion gen3 so I cannot give you an answer to that sorry. I will say that the Gen3 guns mags have the no double feed system on them which is one of the nice things about them.
@@BravoBassin I know this gun you have is a much better price. Curious if it’s worth getting the fusion or not. Mainly will do plinking with occasional chipmunk or squirrel hunt
@@cG-es8mb well i think the fsion is just the uprated version o fthis gun. I will also say that for the price this gun is worth every penny. I honestly went throught the same thoughts befor buying this one. when you compair the 2 the only real difference is the fen 3 has the updated magzine which helps sto you from double feeding pellets. Honestly I think you would be very happy with this one o fyou got it. I have thought about buying the fusion down the road to do a compairison of them to help solve this debate. Either way you can't really go wrong in my opinion. I think it just boils down to price and how much you want to spend. I have the Gen 3 gamo bone collector and it is a great rifle as well but I actually like this one better and it is half the price. So maybe that helps.
you will need the utg scope mount rings as the utg scope and rings are 1 inch tube and rings and the rings and rings that come with it are 30mm so they are 2 different sizes.
awsome! I hope you ordered a decent scope as well the one it comes with will get you by but you will definitely want to up grade it to a better one. Just remember ot always get a scope that is rated for spring air rifles.
Yeah so glad I seen your video I just got my gun in and it didn’t disappoint except the scope but I put a better one on it love your video definitely earned a subscriber
@@coltonworkman1811 well I am glad the video helped that is why I make the videos in the first place. It si to hopefully help others. I really appreciate the sub and for watching the channel.
the link for he scope I am using on this rifle is in the link down below in the description. It is a UTG true hunter 3x9x40 scope. But if you can afford it I would suggest getting the next step up which is the utg hunter 3x9x32AO or 3x9x40 AO because there is no adjustable opjective with the true hunter that I am using in the video. Still a good scope but I prefer the AO on a scope just needed something to put on that was better then the crappy Gamo scope and wanted to show a budget scope that works very well.
I suspect the older one shot models are more accurate, I dont trust the cylinder to seat the pellets properly, for hunting Im fine with one shot one kill.
I wil say I prefer the 1 shot models as well over the multi shot ones for the reason you stated and a few other reasons like there are more possible failer points and things that can go wrong with the machanics of the the multi shot as well. Not that I have had any issues so far but the possibilities are still there. For me my favorite air rifles to shoot are my weihrauchs break barrels and under lever air rifles and my Air arms TX200 carbine yo just can;t go wrong with them and the fit finish and build is top notch and hands down there is no comparision to a great german made air rifle over the gmaos and more budget friendly air rifles. When I get asked what air rifle I would recommed the most it will always be a weihrauch first. anyway thanks for the comment and watching the video.
@@brucepoole8552 Ya if you are in the USA go to air guns of arizona they have a good selection of weihrauchs and Diana spring air rifles. awsome that is what I paid for mine when game had it on sale. it is a great rifle just remember to get a better scope then what it comes with UTG scopes work great on these rifles as well as hawk scomes. but what ever you do get make sure it is srping air rifle rated.
this gen 1 is just fine just have to be carful to not douple feed the pellet best way to tdo that is if your not sure if you cocked it then just point it in a safe direction and pukk the triigger to check it before cocking. the mew gen 3 rifle magas are designed to stop that issue but I love my gamo DX as it is a great rifle.
well that is because this is the earlier version of the viper before they came up with the 10x gen3i mag system it is the same exact gun but just with the older 10x system in it is all. I do plan on getting the viper and doing a comparison of them once I can afford to buy one.
@@RpMcMurphy_ ya they will be on sale again soon I am sure I will say that I am very impressed with mine so far like I said in the video always check those stock screws find the right pellet and the way the gun likes to be held a good air rifle scope and it will be lights out for anything you are shooting at out to 30yds & 40yds, I also have the Gamo swarm bone collector gen 3i .22 that I just did a review on that will be out soon as well just fyi.
well it says it shoots 1000fps with alloy pellets per gamos sight. which comes out to 40fpe But I would put it in more the 800 to 850fps range but I can;t be sure because I do not have chronograph to measure that. but just doing a little math with a JSB 18.13 grain pellet at 850fps you will be at 29fpe and at 800 fps you will be at 25.77fpe. the rifle is deffinitly good enough to take any small to medium game such as squirrels, rabbits, jack rabbits, foxes, prairie dogs stuff like that. Even would be a great turkey gun as well up to 30yd head shots in my opinion. hope that helps.
So I guess you missed the part in the very beginning of the video when I read off the spec's and litterly said it had the IGTand gas piston in the rifle? So did I call it a springer a couple time yes I did because I shoot a lot of spring air rifles as well but I was not going to re shoot the whole video over that since I read all the specs off in the beginng of the video which were correct. maybe go back and watch the video again and you will see that.

Just to clarify your an idiot and obviously do not know anything about air rifles because an air rifle is a rifle that uses air to power the projectile and in this case a spring break barrel air rifle uses a spring to force air down the barrel to push the projectile out A break barrel air rifle literally has its own air system built into it how can you be this dumb? Its called a spring power plant instead of a compressed air power plant like a bottle both do the same thing and force air behind the pellet to push it out of the barrel.

@@MikeRobey-y8j I am not sure honestly I just find an allen wrench that fits and tighten them up lol!
i think a good way to eliminate flyers is to sort the pellets,or at least take more notice of the condition of them before you put them in the mag,i quite often see a bad pellet after ive put it in the mag!
thanks for watching and the comment appreciate it.
@@krislambert6625 thanks for the comment again and ya it has been shooting well ever since I got it so I have no complaints.
I have another question for you, do you clean your airguns? If so how often? thank you again for your time and help.

@@BravoBassin turns out when I tried to checkout that they don't ship to my state anyway so I guess I'll be keeping what I've got.
Thank you, Did the UTG scope you used in this video come with scope rings?@@BravoBassin
Ok, thank you that is very helpful.👍@@BravoBassin
@@josiah1999bass glad I could help.
Got mine today awesome! How do you tighten the stock screws you mentioned can’t see them on this one 👍
the stock screws are under the rubber grips on the front sides of the stock.
you will need a flat head screw driver and if you look there is a little spot to slide the screw driver in to lift up and remove them and under there you will see the stock screws.
take a little blue lock tight and put it on the screws and tighten them back down.
but even after doing that you should check them once in a while.
hope yours shoots as good as mine does let me know how it goes.
I am looking around for the scopes you recommended. Thanks again.
@@guyallphin1295 you can check pyramyd air and amazon as they usually have the best prices on some air rifle scopes
Might have to swap out original scope for this one 👍🏽 nice video
Think these scope will withhold on a gamo magnum .25 cal?
Honestly I would go with the UTG 3x9x40 or the Hawk 3x9x40 on the Magnum .25 cal.
Somfar on this gun it has been fin but I know those magnums have a lot more kick to them then this gun does.
So that is what I would recommend anyway.
@BravoBassin thank u . I recommend the gamo magnum . 25 on sell for 200 bucks right now on gamo usa
@@romanvalerio3343 I saw that and would love to et one but i have shoudler and back and neck injuries that keep me from being able to shoot those magnum springers because of the cocking force it takes to cock them.

I have several more air rifles to review this year that I will be doing videos on so there will be a lot more air rifle content coming.

yes I believe it is the older version of it for sure.
Now u got me looking at the coyote 22😊. In wood of course. I'll pay 300 but not 500.

But if I could only have one it would be my weihrauch HW97K but but most won't spend that kind of money on an air rifle.
How is this gun compared to the swarm fusion 3 generation?
@@BravoBassin thank ya. It helps.
Do you have to buy the utg mount for the scope or can you use the mounts that come with the gun

Just to clarify your an idiot and obviously do not know anything about air rifles because an air rifle is a rifle that uses air to power the projectile and in this case a spring break barrel air rifle uses a spring to force air down the barrel to push the projectile out
A break barrel air rifle literally has its own air system built into it how can you be this dumb?
Its called a spring power plant instead of a compressed air power plant like a bottle both do the same thing and force air behind the pellet to push it out of the barrel.
