This statement about “English is not a prerequisite to success” is ridiculous. Literally the most famous designers in fashion, cuisine, and interior design are from non English speaking countries. Paris, Milan, etc… are all non English speaking cities and host the most famous designers so what does English have to do with success or being a prerequisite for it.

It's so cute... watching these people speak their broken English. Trust me, we're not laughing at you. We find it honourable, especially if we can't speak your language. I love this woman and her taste. We have similar taste. Round edges, white and wood all the way. That's me. Minimalist look, less loud colours, secret compartments and great functionality. Her house is magnificent and full of surprises. It doesn't even look that big but surprise-surprise.

I am speechless, but I'll say something. Creativity, Simplicity, and Excellence at the best they can ever be! SHE IS THE MOST CREATIVE INTERIOR DESIGNER IN THE WORLD! This is the best video on this channel. I've come across and experienced mind blowing things in many countries, but nothing has blown my mind the way this lady's works has. She's super intelligent, super creative, super focused, super hardworking, super humble, and super knows what she wants and how to get it, and super disciplined. Based on her creativity and work discipline she isn't supposed to be a millionaire but multbillionaire!

The moral of the story, never give up on your dream. Believe in yourself. She's absolutely incredible. She is really very creative and a true designer. One little flaw: Maya, you should have gotten an interpreter. There were times she wanted to really express herself, but due to her limited English she couldn't. I have never come across one like her before. And she is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. Great vid.
In addition to what you are saying, Just do it in Africa! I may have to copywrite that.
If you listen carefully, the person she is talking to off-camera, is basically working as their interpreter. I believe allowing her a chance to speak of her own accord is to add authenticity and an organic element to their conversation. Adding an official interpreter on camera can make it seem too much like a documentary.
@@neillomarispringle4860 OP has a point though. Maureen was super eloquent when she got to speak in French. If the whole interview was in her mother tongue or at least in French- it would've been on another level- in spite of Wode Maya's superficial questions. The interpreter was underused IMO. In English, it really did seem like Maureen wanted to say more but couldn't. She still did great. You can tell she's brilliant.
