This film was great fun...I was all of 5 years old when it was released and my parents took us to the big, first run theater where it was presented in 70 MM and stereo sound. I was blown away as a small child and still remember it to this day. It was quite the cultural phenomenon of its time, and trust me EVERY home had this album. I heard it constantly growing up. Great memories!
This came out two years before my birth, but I watched it on TV as a Saturday Matinee movie as a young kid. Loved it! And after all these years, I found myself singing the theme song to myself. I came here to confirm that I still remembered the tune. Yep. :)
This particular song flooded the airwaves in 1957. There were so many versions of it and played so often that after a while you got tired of hearing it. The best vocal version was by The McGuire sisters.

One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.

Love it. I miss those days. Our country has vanished.
I have the same album, with a different label which was originally a Decca “Black Star” on a maroon label. This one is a reissue “Rainbow” label.
Passepartout, The great Mario Moreno Reyes ´´Cantinflas´´

What are the instruments playing in the beginning? The wavering humming sound after the fanfare
not in stereo...
Good soundtrack...mediocre film.
If the film were any better it wouldn't have been as much fun! :)
