    Love you Bery! I've been to magical Istanbul like ten times, one neighborhood I'd definitely recommend is charming Üsküdar (Asian Side, like dynamic Kadıköy). I love it there, the spectacular promenade by the Bosphorus, and also nearby wonderful Kuzguncuk, Çengelköy, Salacak, and Selimiye too! Super well connected by ferry and Marmaray, you get to Historical Peninsula, Karaköy, Kadıköy, Beşiktaş in 15-20 minutes for a very tiny fee! Overall, stay on the Asian Side guys! (4 days in Istanbul at the very least, 2 weeks - 1 month in Turkiye), go to Europe by ferry, it's amazing.

    The best area is Shishane Beyoglu. It is 5 mins walking distance away from Istiklal and Galata and much less noisy than Galat . We stayed at Aspera Golden Horn and 3 of us shared a room with breakfast included for 6 nights and 7 days. It was quite affordable and metro station was right below our hotel. We put in 250 dollars each and did all our sightseeing including Topakkapi Galata Blue Mosque Hagia Sophia , transport and food in this budget. And we ate quite well including Nusrat and nice Places

    Stay away from the turistic areas Istanbul is very well connected from anywhere that you stay, you will get to the main attractions with no problem (metro, bus, tram, ferries etc..) on the turistic areas is expensive a lot of tourist's traps, scams and the food is pricey and not that good, stay on the asian side to enjoy better food and affordable accomodations you thank me later

      @@harisghori3892 I can tell you where not to stay, when you come from the ferry it's the left side of the main street, it's very dirty and the airbnbs i think are the same, at least mine was, i had to cut it short. Try in Moda but in my opinion the houses are boring, regular apartments with tiny windows. I think the european side is more interesting, especially Besiktas.

    I stayed in the Galata and Taksim areas last month. I absolutely loved those areas. But it is true that there is a lot of night life there. We were walking in Istikal street at about 1 am and it felt like it was broad daylight. There are so many people, young and old, still enjoying themselves at that time. So if nightlife is your thing, I definitely recommend those areas. Besides, transportation is very good from those areas. And if you are brave enough, you can even do some execise and walk to the historical pennisula from there. It's actually not too far away, and you can get to know the city even better.

    I have been fortunate enough to visit Istanbul a few times. This video is 100% accurate and you have done a fantastic job describing all these neighborhoods and their pros and cons. My preferred location is an airbnb on the rainbow steps (where you filmed). I also appreciate that fact that you left out Nişantaşı and similar areas that can be considered impractical for the average tourist. I will be referring your videos to all my friends who want to visit Istanbul.

    I stayed in Besiktas for a month, it was a bit of walking from the center but i started to like it, and the most i liked was that there are no tourists in Besiktas, it's only you and the locals. Now i'm staying again for a week but closer to the center, so my advice is wherever you stay, stay closer to the center of that area but not inside. And the prices are good, no tourist traps. I also stayed for a month in Buyukada, it was brilliant but is not practical for a tourist.

    Istanbul is not known for its beaches but you can actually find decent ones (with shower and sunbeds/umbrellas) if you go to certain isle which is accessible from Kadikoy port. I stayed at a hotel close to the port for only 200tly/day and liked it. Well, it wasn't the largest room you can find for that price but I am not too picky and the location was worth it.

    I've found your videos about Istanbul really helpful. Thanks! I subscribed and liked.
    I just arrived today and had a great experience on Turkish Airlines. What I haven't had a great experience with is my Air BnB accom. It's pretty grimy, the shower dribbles more than showers, the towels smell of mildew, etc. I don't need or want a fancy place, that's why I usually book an Air BnB. My question (if you or any viewers wanna weigh in) is, is the standard of AirBnB's in Istanbul not great? I'm paying the equivalent of $70.00 USD a night. Maybe I'm getting what I paid for (and lesson learned), or did I just get unlucky with this place? Anyone? And one more question: I know not to drink the tap water, but can I use it to wash dishes? Thanks (and sorry for taking up so much space here...)

      and some say maximum only TRY 25,000.

    Please is Maltepe a good place to stay in Istanbul??

      @BeryIstanbulTips  2 года назад +1

      I live in Maltepe (Küçükyali) just next to Bostanci and is amazing! I love it here and by the sea side too, so try to stay closer to the sea side. There is also a Marmaray station that connects you in minutes to the European side like Sirkeci (close to Sultanahmet) and Yenikapi (to connect to Taksim for example).

      If you plan of saying long-term, why not. But if you come just as a tourist/short term traveler, then is not a suitable area since is not near the city center, it has good public transportation but it can take a while to get to the center.

    What about staying in Bakirkoy for for first time visit as a tourist for 6 days?

    • @BeryIstanbulTips
      @BeryIstanbulTips  Год назад

      I wouldn’t stay there as a first timer but as long as you stay near the Marmaray line you could probably reach the main areas like Sultanahmet in 30 min but you’ll spend quite a lot of money just in transportation (about 20 TL per person just for the Marmaray one way). So keep that in mind.
