  • I don't normally do vlogs so sorry for mumbling my way through the whole thing. First take, with some rough edits. But maybe some information that you may find helpful. Here are some stuff I cover below.
    1. a bit of my background on why I went to Thailand to learn Muay Thai (kind of).
    2. Don't have the kickboxer fantasy Journey.
Keep in mind these were my opinions before I started training here. I don't believe all Muay Thai gyms in Thailand are only trying to make money off foreigners a lot of them do care about the fighters :) , but you should have realistic goals and really do your research on the gym before you go. I went to Manop Gym in Chiang Mai, which is a small gym but you get full attention and it strongly focuses on technique. Who better to teach you than Saenchai's former head trainer.
I've never been to the big franchise gyms before to really compare (they are pricier thou). I wanted a very authentic muay thai training experience. I think I got that.
    3. solo traveling and what to expect.
    4. I talk a bit about my flight, also getting through customs, getting a sim card, and dealing with Taxis.
Tips: Airport taxis are enforced to use the meter so they cannot rip you off. Also best app to use is GRAB, the app allows you to set the agreed price before you pay. Most taxis can't get lost anymore because they will use google maps.
