    Appreciate your video for not only showing the thermal capabilities of the AK 400 but also for the installation and your assessment of how quiet it is. That, to me, gives a good picture of this cooler.

    Nice review of the install. Noise concerns are valid for upgrading to an aftermarket cooler, though I doubt the stock cooler would be too loud while gaming. The 12400F came with one and it was deemed to be good enough. Aesthetics is also valid when it seems every case that comes out nowadays has a window.

      Thanks!! Yeah I could see the stock cooler being good enough, but to keep the cpu healthy for a long time spending a little extra to make sure it stays cool even under load is always nice.

    i bought this and it is super worth it. I came from stock cooling fan on my i5 11400 and I was playing a CPU intensive game which brings my temps to 70c-80c and sometimes pushes to 90c and I was skeptical at first on buying this because it might just knockout 3-5c I thought but holy hell, it does its job great. I put in cinebench immediately after i installed it and my temps won't even go above 50c on full load and the game i was playing can't even push it above that temp as well and I scored it for just $30 in my region

    I just love the wrong way to mount it better , inverted + fan at the rear, because that checkerboard look so nice especially on a Fractal pop air which as the same kind of style for the front intake. 👌

      Yeah totally agree, one of the coolest designs ive seen especially for the price.

      Me too. Looks great when used in the Asus AP201 mounting it that way. But I like the digital version even more. Because who wouldn't want the display on top?
      DeepCool is just awesome. A company that's made air coolers more interesting than anyone else. As well as their very respectable performance of course.

    is this fan suitable for a Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core ?

      I think so, I bought one of these thinking about an I7-14700 and my friend who really understands PCs said it holds up well.

    Good review. I recently build two rigs, both with RX 6750 XT GPUs, however, one was intel i5 12400 (yours) and the other Ryzen 5 5600X. The Ryzen comes with a decent stock cooler, much better than the intel cooler and Ryzen CPUs just generally don't get as hot as their Intel counterparts, so the Stealth Wraith cooler the AMD CPU came with was good enough, but the Intel cooler is a joke and I bought this cooler for it and just like you said, amazing performance at a low decibel level. I sold both of them already, and had no complaints, but considering the price to performance of this fan, I think I will be using it for all mid range PCs I build from this point forward. Anything over an i5/ryzen 5 I go liquid by default now, especially because I'm usually pairing them with 7900 XTs or XTXs, and want to keep my thermals in check. Although honestly, using the newer Lian Li cases and fully modular PSUs that I regularly buy in bulk, I could probably get away with using this cooler on i7s and Ryzen 7s. However, I'm not going to skimp, the liquid cooler I've been using has been great and the company gives me good deals on bulk orders.
    Still...Really amazing value for the price. My local MicroCenter has them for $34.99 and I'm going to pick up 3 white and 3 black tomorrow. Thanks again for the video. Big thumbs up.

    Thanks for the nice review! I am wondering, if you can enlighten me -- can we place a second fan on the Digital? Like on the other side?

      It would probably barely skate by, but with any kind of heavy use it would get real warm, I would get the ak620 instead.

    Very informative comparison bud. The stock Intel coolers are terrible. They don't have a large contact footprint and aftermarket coolers are simply better. I might have missed it but what is the AK400 tdp rating?

    • @LegitCamelRetro
      @LegitCamelRetro  Год назад +1

      I think its got a 220w tdp

      It’s really great im happy i found it, i ordered many coolers even a aio but 2 of them did not come with a 1700 bracket the aio and the cryorig cooler, also ordered a big thermalright phanton spirit but that one did have a 1700 bracket but did not fit in my itx mobo, pushed against the ram and also did not even wanna seat into place cuz of the narrow vrm spacing, i ordered a coolermaster 212 evo but afterwards regret it cus its only 150w and a 13600k definitely needs more at higher cpu usage percentages this ak400 is perfect for my situation, it’s narrow but long enough to fit in a decent itx case like the n200rp and with 220w its a massive 70 wat extra tdp support over the 212 black edition which supposedly also makes a i5 13600k run and play games. I think im gonna be fine with it cant wait to recieve it this Tuesday and finally finish my build. Gonna be a nightmare tho finding all the right screws and items of all the coolers im gonna be needing to return
