Mr. Simonon you are still the coolest man on the planet. If I could go back in time and see just one more Clash gig I could die happy.
Paul is CAF

Is this a crossed leg competition? I guess Damon lost.

Edit: And i bet that trudeau wears gloved french knickers under his suit. Lololololol
Bleek Chain thats cuz i dont cross my legs.
I’ve tried sitting like it on several occasions, and my thighs crush my bollocks. No idea how anyone finds this comfortable.
It doesn’t matter that Britain is part of Europe physically. Love Britain, don’t love amalgamating with the EU.

Shame people didn’t listen to John Lyndon when he warned people about Jimmy Saville.
People still don't listen now.
Yea they really don’t
It was a bit out of character for Lydon, given he's a Tory.
Or about how brexit would be a fooking disaster
disagree with a small part of what Damon is saying around 20:12 being young doesn't negate very harsh realities of the world. there are some among us living extreme conditions and unfortunate circumstances that will absolutely cause the same amount of jadedness as found in an elder person
Damon...the cutest man alive 🥺🥺
Cute men don't win wars.
And talented and intelligent and caring.
He's so amazing 👽
this is like the only interview i've seen where the interviewer seems less excited to be there than the people being interviewed lmfao
“Sort of.”
Damon Albarn
Damon really went all out those last two minutes to wrap up that interview 😂😂😂
Is the interviewer suffering from a bout of indigestion?
Fear
I think they call it ‘Anxiety’ these days.
the thumbnail is so sweet! make cute shy damon a meme (or don't, i don't know)
Paul simonon is a legend! ♥
NME journo: "we're a bit more rock and roll these days"
Albarn's face: total cringe
Fair play to Damon for that MIB reference re: erasing any memory of Brexit from the collective national conscious, but there's the Eternal Sunshine counterpoint to that argument. As in, even when you wipe people's memory, they tend to go back and do the same things over again.
Matthew Snyder better to wipe the memories of remainers,so they can get on with their lives...
Todays to-do list has just been amended, (Rolls up jeans and pierces own ear). 👍🏻

Does the guy doing the interview not know how to make eye contact?
Crashing bores! (So an immigrant who lives in Britain can't have a political opinion on their home nation then Mr Albarn & Mr Simonon?) Is that right?
Scott Falconer I think you may have been watching a different interview
@@brianwilson49 No I wasn't mate. Albarn the dullest man on planet earth clearly stated... if you no longer live in the country to which you were born, you shouldn't have a view on any of its politics. It's possibly one of the most tedious interviews I've ever listened to.... (exception of footballers). Thanks for your comment. The truth will out!
I found that logic absolutely apalling as well. It makes no bloody sense. One can have a say on a country's state of affairs even if not living there. That doesn't mean you are not interpreting the "facts" but ideology. Quite tedious indeed.
So an immigrant coming here has no right to an opinion because they haven't lived here before? That's the logic from Albarn.
No I think his point was that it was easy for mozzer to endorse a bunch of right wing crackpots sitting in his Ivory Tower in Beverly Hills.😉🤓

Still real? they literally just said the working class were too uneducated to know what they were voting for, while calling for a second vote and saying the elites dont listen to the working class... WHAT UTTER FUCKING HYPOCRITES THEY ARE.
@@themightydash1714 Not what he said at all. He pointed out the enormous difference of the quality of education for the wealthy and the working class. Then he went on to say that the whole Leave campaign was proper gander and that this was not what people voted for, and he's right!
"the island of England"? I don't think so.
Isn't that just typical of Albarn save the immigrant and fuck off Scotland!
The worst part is; he’s not even kidding.

Such a man of the people!

A bit bad to associate John lydons views with Morrissey's, just because both are outspoken?, Where was the criticism from media, when John called out Jimmy saville? Nowhere to be seen, as for nme , they called Morrissey out on racism for wrapping himself in a union jack at a madness gig, saying it was nationalistic in tone, then two years later Liam Gallagher in Union Jack duvet on cover of vanity fair and Noel with union jack on guitar and no one says anything other than cool Britannia, either Morrissey's timing is ahead of its time, and the nme are too sensitive and left wing even though not that left wing not to plaster their shit corporatised magazine with 85% adverts on behalf of the man?
Crazy double standards, nme invented fake news, when they promoted menswear!

The thing about Morrissey was he was wearing a Britain Fist badge (which is a far right party).
@@pandora8478 Couldn`t give a shit,I like his music.

I don't quite follow the logic that if you don't don't live in a country you should not comment on its politics. It also needs to be mentioned that whilst Morrissey and Lydon live in California they also have homes in England.
Yeah and just because damon lives in the country he doesnt truly love amongst every day life and the general emotions and outlook of the working man. Hes in his own bubble to the point he may as well be a thousand miles away.
@@lukehill449I think being a multi-millionaire with homes in Devon and London with a day job which consists of interviews, walking on stage in front of thousands of cheering, adoring fans and spending weeks living in 5 star hotels when on tour also contributes to Damon's distance from the average person.
What bollocks,I have a home in New Mexico in the states, what right do I have to to comment on American laws , we are viewed has the English family that live there 6 months of the year, ,,,which mean’s I live in England 🏴

It's a 'cold' very familiar to me. I've not even lived there for 20-years, but venture back annually to witness further Americanization each time. Everyone feels special, and so do we Brits, for a variety of reasons, but in reality it's just another story of a declining empire, scratching for relevancy and meaning in a land that once was, all the good and the bad.
Jeez, let Paul get a word in.
Right?! Damon kept talking over him which was pretty annoying
This video could have been so much better. Disappointing. Who is this interviewer? He's got two great sitting in front of him and he's a total blunder. Do your homework man.

Bonjour ! Serait il possible d'avoir une traduction en français svp ?? 😊😉
So he is a believer in democratic principles and he respects the votes of other people, but only when a majority is clever enough to vote the same way he votes...
Iazzaboyce he just states his opinion calm down
@@danandrrews7328 Do you not think he's being just a tad supercilious? Tony Benn and Enoch Powell were two of the most academic people in this story and they both believed the UK should retain national sovereignty. He knows Leave is a valid political position - it's obvious what he thinks is too many people he views as being thick were swayed by the Leave campaign... Well, in a democracy that works both ways.
@@Iazzaboyce I agree with you.
He is completely out of touch with his own heritage and 'his public' .
I don't think he is necessarily condemning the result of the referendum as a result of people's lack of intelligence or not being 'clever enough'. A common misconception about democracy is that it means whether the vote of the people is carried out. However, whilst this is a core democratic principle, democracy is also dependent on people having access to independent information (this was not the case with the 'Leave' campaign e.g the pledge that £350 million would go to the NHS , which the following day Farage stated was 'one of the mistakes' he thought that the 'Leave campaign' had made, despite being an integral figurehead of the Leave campaign.) Albarn also mentions in this interview how significant he perceives education to be, adding to this idea that he perhaps is not frustrated towards the people who voted but towards the politicians in power who acted in an undemocratic manner by misinforming millions of people, as well as the referendum lacking accountability.
They called each other ahead to coordinate the same shoes.
"There was no other way (no pun intended)"

Quite honestly tho it would be nice just to hear Damon and Paul just talking about music!. Particularly on NME!
Right?!?! Screw politics. Every day "normies" like us have zero power to do a thing about whatever government want to force on us anyway.
If politicians don’t listen to people you get the far right as a consequence.
You have to look pretty hard to find the far right anywhere in England, although numpties like you and these two seem to see them everywhere, they have no influence here whatsoever, you`re just a paranoid trendy spouting the party line.
Why do they all sit with they're legs crossed 😭

The zeitgeist shift of the last few years is astounding. Just how completely left behind and out of the loop these guys are compared to their respective eras of cultural reference. I don't think they mean any harm. They just have no clue whatsoever about what is happening in the west right now. I don't think music and politics ever mixed too well beyond anti war songs for peace etc. Musicians are meant to be emotional people who inspire feeling. They then can't be blamed for building philosophies on empathy and feeling. Which never amounts to anything much. These guys are way off the mark. Sad to see.
Brilliantly put. It's like watching three small boys trying to sing along to a song they don't know the words to. It's embarrassing. Stuck in lovey dovey ideology of camp Virtue Signalling delusion. Yay!
Logic is the enemy and truth is a menace.
I would have liked to have heard more from Paul and less of Damon. I grew up listening to the Clash and really wanted to hear more of him🙂

If you don't live in a country you shouldn't be able to comment on their politics! Says Mr Albarn who earlier in the interview talks about Trump. Such a hypocrite
That statement shouldn't apply to the USA considering how every little thing that happens there is showcased in the news of every other country. We all know about Trump and pretty much everything that's going on there, because directly or indirectly it affects us all. Not the case for most countries. It's not comparable and definitely not hypocritical.
Trump is having a huge impact globally, not just in America. It makes sense that damon and others would have a strong opinion on him considering the effects hes having on the whole world.
It’s more that Morrissey was endorsing a particular right wing party, Damon was commenting on something that trump had said. Completely different things.
kallam kirby-Burrows No difference at all. In fact Morrissey is more entitled to his opinion as he’s actually British. Albarn is a total hypocrite.

How about this: if you don't live in a multicultural part of Britain, then you can't have an opinion on immigration. There you go. NME can delete this video now.
How about we just talk about the actual issue, and let everyone have their say. Morrissey has a right to his opinion, and he's being unpersoned for holding an opinion about his own country.
MrCool Mug agreed
Morrissey is a fascist flirt.

@fredury - I know exactly how the music industry works, I worked in it for many years. Damon is worth at least 20 million and his 'work' is nothing like a normal days work for an ordinary person.
