    Looks like a solid option. My concern is running 18" wheels only.
    What specs are of most concern to accomplish this well? Can you specify backspacing & caliber clearances needed?...
    Currently looking to do daily: 18x7"s w/4.24"bs front & 18x8"s w/4.5"bs rear.
    Summer set: 18x8"s w/5.25"bs frnt & 18x10"s w/6 or 6.25" bs rear...

    I have a 94 Silverado but I am running a 15 inch wheel. Won't work on my truck. I just replaced the hubs and bearings but I did have to cut the corners off the lower control arms so my Star wheels would lock up without rubbing the inside of the wheel. Oh well.

    I also heard you can use a 2000 Silverado brake booster (vacuum) for the OBS to help your brakes even more but, requires an adapter fitting (dunno the size) for the front line...

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  6 лет назад +1

      I am not sure... maybe help a little, but the better performance really comes from the brakes themselves. Not sure if all that work to change the booster is worth the slight change you get.

  • @Blitz0065

    Just heard about this kit in the last week. Glad I took the time to watch the video. Even more interested now BUT I'll go ahead and ask, is there any chance you'll be offering an even bigger caliper from the Baer collection? For example their T4 or 6piston offering. I'd be highly interested to see if the bracket would be interchangeable with those. My original plan was to use takeoffs from a current GM (Br***o) but I'd just as soon use this kit you provide if it can be upgraded even further.

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  6 лет назад +3

      Blitz0065 When using a Baer caliper, the bracket setup is entirely different. Plus, they just released their Pro+ front for these trucks, which we offer as well. We designed this kit to be an affordable solution to big brakes, making it a good blend between performance, looks and cost.

    What needs to be done to the actual OEM proportionning valve? Any options and/or suggestion regarding the master cylinder as well? I am tempting since I was getting ready for an Impala SS front & rear discs conversion but at the end it wouldn't be as good as your big brakes setup!

    • @AZProPerformance

      You can use the stock master and prop valve, and if your truck has ABS, it all remains functional. Just have to run 20" wheels or larger with our kit.

    Do you have a kit for a 98 chevy 3500 454 with a hydro-booster I have a crew cab long bed with tool box loaded of course. and a 6" lift kit on 20' rims and 37's for tires.
    so it takes alot to stop this truck and im sure you can imagine harder pulling a trailer.
    feels like it takes alot to stop this truck and been looking for a big break kit to install.
    it is 4x4 of course qi can't find anything for my truck like this and in this community I know there's alot of us wanting something for 4x4 HD trucks like ours

      mine work great as well. biggest faults i have found is the auto adjust rear that stopped working, fluid that went way over its life span.. old steel lines shrink, get dirty from inside out.. reducing flow. Not much else to speak of. they are designed to stop twice over this trucks weight. problems with factory is problems with you not going to get it fixed by a pro. I have been rebuilding my own since my 1979. the 88-98 is a very good setup. There is a means to kick off the single piston to a brake stomp while loaded... I do like the twin piston setup, but it has its problems too. Just roll with what you got. fix it until it is good.

      That could be said for most of the kits out there for any car/truck. When more companies develop products for these trucks and more are sold, the price should come down. But, having said that, to get quality built parts that work, it's not that bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not pricey, but, you get what you pay for. For a rear disc brake kit for my truck (with a couple options like parking brake and stainless lines) it was still about $700 and it is NOT a big brake kit. Keep in mind if you are adding HP you need to add braking power, your life can depend on it.

      It won’t , as the spindle is different and lug pattern.

    Over Lapping holes on rotors for $800...Hmmm

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  6 лет назад

      Texas Truth The base rotor starts life as a 6-lug, so we do have to overlap holes. Since we provide a hub centric ring and rotors register firmly on the hub/axle register, this isn’t an issue. The rotor will run true because of that, and the studs just drive it, not there to balance it. It’s all made by Baer for us, so it’s done correctly. They are experts in the braking industry. The rotors also have a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defect and warping.

    • @texastruth9752
      @texastruth9752 6 лет назад +5

      Guess we will have to wait 7 years for this body style to go classic to get parts made specifically for 5 lugs. If Baer is making them, why not drill for 5 lug during manufacturing. For the price I expect to get 5 lug drilled rotors not borrowed ideas from other vehicles. It may work just fine, but performance should look as it performs.

      You still have to best option available for our trucks.

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  6 лет назад

      Appreciate it. If we used a rotor that was solely done for 5x5 only and specifically for us, then it would drive up cost some. Of course, then the feedback would be it cost too much, so sometimes we just can't win either way. Most don't mind, as the wheel covers it all up. We do offer the Baer kit, which has a 2-piece hat and only a 5x5 pattern, but starts at $2,895.

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  5 лет назад

      Not sure I follow... better stopping power is always a plus. With ant-lock you just have to control it manually to make sure you dont lock it up.
      A prop valve can be used to cut fluid to the back to make sure the back doesn't lock up before the front.

    that lock up at the end... disapointing

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  4 года назад

      j stash you realize the truck isn’t ABS in front and the point at the end was to stop short. If the front locks, it’s stops at a longer distance and less control.

      @@AZProPerformance even so the truck would have stopped shirted if there was was a abs integrated with the brake kit

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  4 года назад

      j stash the earlier trucks of that body style don’t have ABS in front, the later ones do and our kit works with it and leaves the ABS functional. However it isn’t an easy process to add ABS to the front of the earlier trucks.

    • @AZProPerformance
      @AZProPerformance  6 лет назад +1

      Depends on what you're looking for, as our kit is meant as a quality brake kit with great performance, fo a decent price. If stepping up more to a powder coated aluminum caliper that is fixed mount, etc.... we prefer Baer. They are truly made in the USA (not just brought over and machined to be called "Made in the USA"), DOT compliant sealed calipers. Those are some of the reasons we prefer Baer when looking at the higher end kits.

      It’s just a caliper man. Technically Ford doesn’t make the caliper, and just happens to be used on a Ford. Chevy doesn’t have a park brake caliper that’s worth using. If we used the drum in hat system, then you would have turned off the video because the price was too high.
