I have a Mini Cooper electric and so far I have installed Eibach springs, Koni FSD shocks, Neuspeed rear sway bar and, new links front and rear. Later I will install Power Flex bushings.
I’ve got H&R springs fitted and it is fun to drive but a bit stiff. Also some mm spacers on rear so that the wheels are more in line with the car’s body.
I hate spacers so i wont fit those. The car rides perfectly. So i don’t need them. I toom AST over H&R because previous experiences. The H&R’s are just a bit too stiff for my liking.
@@super69ev Sounds like a plan. On my previous car I had Eibach, which I were more comfortable. The H&R were the cheapest, something around 200 EUR. I am looking forward to your review.
Thank you so much! I totally agree but is true for every car they currently make so I think it has to do with the fact that people think bigger wheels are better and are more of a status symbol.
Looks great. I own I3 Standard imperial blue and switched to rims 430 silver 20 inch with 175 rear and 155 front. Tires are from Michelin. Stability improved a lot. Before with the 19 Zoll 155 Bridgestone all around (Modell 428) , there was at higher speeds a little tendency to change from middle of the road to the right and left and you had to correct it constantly. This is gone with the 20 Zoll Michelin e primacy 175 in the rear/155 front. I didn't expect that. There is one little negativ thing. Drive noises from tyres are a little bit louder inside. Rubber composition maybe harder? So it is not really necessary to change to the BMW sports suspension which make it a bit less comfortable. Don't really know, if change to 20 Zoll, or 175 rear Dimension or different tyres did the effect.

The 427 rims are really light weight. Guess, you win around 1.5 - 2 kg less weight each rim compare to 428 rims. And in winter, they protect brake discs better against rain from outside and easier to clean from salt. I use them exclusively in winter but i don't like the look. Just don't want to ruin the filigran 428 and 430 rims with salt.
How much range did you get with downsizing. On paper it should be around 10% And what about the comfort? It imroved much? The roads are preaty bad here, a lot of ppl cant bear the 20”.
Love the car and you sound excited. You will loose highway stability with 155/175 setup. Most people go with 195 square. Also, doubt you will get 25% increase in range 5-7% maybe.
That's going to increase the range because your tires are smaller the motor is going to be using less horsepower than supposed to be so that's good 19" tires ,,,👌

Those Koni’s are magic on a Mini. I had them on my old R50, good times 🥰
Bjorn always says smaller wheels and a generous profile makes for a more comfortable ride
It does, more sidewall to absorb the impacts from the road.

Isn’t your range increase because smaller wheels go round more times for a given distance (ie not a real range increase)?
Link to wheels !? Looks amazing now !
They are Brock wheels but I can't find them anymore.
very nice wheels, I like them.
You said 25% range increase? No you have > 300km? Have difficulties to believe this.
No i went from 210 to 250 kilometres.
I3s eco pro around 60-90km/h 300km +- with 20” Bridgestone original
These wheels really set the car off. The range increase is amazing.
The range increase is what surprised me the most. Insane!
Why did BMW push bigger wheels all this time when something like this would have bumped up range numbers. 🤦🏻♂️
These look great btw!!

wow - thats awesome! i need to buy this lol - what rims are they? i searched tire rack unsuccessfully

The rims and wheels look very nice and clean!
Thank you!
What range did you get before and after? Do you think the old BMW 427 style wheels would give a similar improvement?

They are too narrow for the S so I wouldn't fit them, to get them to sit correctly you have to use spacers and they add unsprung mass.
Can you please tell me where I can buy the wheels? Does it need a spacer? Does it fit without a centre ring?
I ordered them online but looked for them and couldn't find them anymore. I don't need a spacer and it doesn't need a centre ring. Plug and play.
@@super69evhappen to know at least the model number?
The wheels do look nice, especially with the dark blue, it contrasts well. Lowering the car will improve the stance as well!
I think it will be perfect after a slight drop. 🥰

I’m not sure yet but but I think around 25 procent more range. I’m seeing numbers I never saw before. Will update soon!
@@super69ev that sounds amazing. It would be +50-60km on my 94ah i3s.
I will do an update once i did a drive to work that is comparable to my normal commute.
Not possible
@@super69ev any update?

There is still plenty of stability.
Does it accelerate faster? More torque etc?
It does accelerate slightly faster but there aren't any changes to the drivetrain so the torque is the same.

Exactly!
25%? In your dreams
