- It's the recruiting dead period in the football world, but it doesn't mean recruits aren't de-committing and committing to new teams. Two players who were considered big-time Auburn leans changed their minds when USC received the commitment from defensive back Shamar Arnoux, and the lead for offensive lineman Carde Smith who de-committed from the Tigers after his USC official visit. I explain what it all means and why the flip from Auburn isn't a surprise to Locked On USC listeners.
How much offense does Miller Moss need to bring with him when USC goes up against LSU and the new defense gets adjusted? Neither the Trojans nor Tigers were good on the defensive side of the ball, however, Lincoln Riley doesn't get the benefit of the doubt like Brian Kelly's new defense that is being installed. Early in the season, the offense needs to lead while the defense catches up.
Oklahoma fans are the subject of the third segment. They still don't care about Lincoln Riley or USC and I expose the opposite. And I did it for a reason.

Riley came in saying he will win a national championship right away. Now Riley is back tracking saying it will take time. USC fans will be lucky to see Riley finish this season as the head coach, the smoke screen is wearing off. Riley is looking to jump ship soon. The question is where is he going?

It is interesting about the up to date status of recruits . However , until they sign it provides good content but not certain . As we have seen . In any event though , it shows the coaches are working hard . If we can complete the loop with NIL then we will have more commits stay committed. Any way thanks for the inside scoop !

Football fans, at least those before today's NIL mess, recognize excellence and need not troll great programs, Marc. The national championship loss broke Sooner hearts, but no Okie doubted that SC had the better team that night. Trojans showed it on the field. Don't pay attention to the whiners in the Panhandle. SC has a great tradition to be proud of, but so does OU. There is room for both teams in the hearts of true fans. I'd love to see OU play SC, too, but I wouldn't bet on the Sooners. BTW, I attended the 1971 matchup between the two teams, so I can at least savor that one win. Boomer.

Why are so many people obsessed with recuriting rankings. Most schools after 2 or 3 years loss almost half of 1 recuriting class.
Guess they saw the correlation to how Georgia and Alabama became good. 🤷♂️

Marc, I know understanding these things isn't your strong suit, but there are facts that make it reasonable to think LSU may have the defensive edge on USC. More returning defensive production, LSU 71%, USC 49% and more blue chip recruit and transfer additions LSU 11, USC 10.
And those same players still played like crap.
Those same players have to learn a new system too and coach Lynn took a UCLA defense with less talent than what is on USC‘s roster and look what he did. But you love those stats.
Hopefully, it helps. You understand a little bit better.😂😂
My point is just that ignorance or bias is not always behind opinions about USC. Stats can reasonably justify them.
I do love stats. I'm an old retired guy with a pencil, pad of paper, and too much time on my hands. 🤷🏿
The key will be offensive line. WILL Miller Miss have time to throw? Not worried about defense.

OU could care less about usc's recruiting. Today The recruiting class rankings have OU at #5, usc 16. Venables has had a top 8 class every year TBOW has never been close.

Benny Wiley still sucks strength and conditioning. Coach Riley, steel as a head coach and Venables is still out of recruiting Riley Oklahoma still has way more blue chip players way higher percentage than Riley does at UCS Oklahoma has a higher percentage than USC does to win the national championship.
