Exactly. He said the same thing to everyone, repeated questions that the previous guy already asked, and always has the same lame catch phrases and using the term bro over and over and over..... I hope he is better at making connections with people in person, but I guess really the position coaches are the key.
One thing these calls have made clear this year. Mike has along ways to go to be comfortable and confident in the non coaching aspects of the job

Agreed. Head coach isn't really about xs and os, it's about leadership and communication. So far I haven't seen anything that isn't generic. But if his assistants and position coaches are good it will work out - which was Pete's issue at the end. BUT ownership agreed to have Pete fire some position coaches and then change mind 3 days later (note that they just gave pete a contract extension last year, and this was supposed to be a 3 year "reset"). I don't trust the current ownership situation to get any of this right but we'll see.

Given that Pete was in the middle of a planned 3 year roster "reset" and they just extended him last year, and in owner meeting agreed that the issue was position coaches that he was then going to move on from (and if you don't believe it, check not only Pete's comments but also KJ Wright's podcast), but then fired him 3 days later, I don't have any faith in this ownership group. And quit acting like Schneider is a genius - he's hit on about 3 drafts out of his tenure so far, and we won't know on this one for 2 years. With all new coaching staff, there are going to be issues - the first day of rookie mini camp was chaos for instance. It's going to be a very up and down year, and all you really need to know is that we didn't gain any ground on the 49s yet, and I think the Cardinals had a better draft overall so gained on us.
That's the thing when a coach goes from college to pro - the players he's already been scouting and recruiting are in the draft for a few years.
