It has a few cringe scenes (the dance number, cosplay blade wexer) but over all it was pretty good.
Virus becomes weaker. People become less zombie and use more of their brains... Aka get smarter.....

Loved it and the idea of the Tyrant in the capsule being Marcus could make sense but to really speculate we need to go back and play the games
I couldn’t get past episode 1 man…. Even if this was a stand alone film This film direction and acting is so horrid. The only person I like in this film was Lance reddick and after seeing what they did to him by making him a clone of count choco blade esq Albert weaker alpha, lmao NO way I’m going to waste my time on this Basura….. episode one I already knew this was going to be cringy with the wanna be edge lord CW feel to it…. Jades first words is All I see is a bunch of white people, as she gazed into the sodasopa new raccoon city lol…. Then Billie elish wanna be listening to billy eilish on her escooter goes to umbrella lab, releases the animals parodying 28 days later as if she had to make a point that although umbrella was rated top 5 by “PETA” she needed to be sure no animal testing was being done…. This is supposed to be post apocalypse ? Lol yah screw this show….. if I could I would give this a -10 stars ⭐️…. I rather watch welcome to raccoon city or the Mika Jovavich films than another episode of this Basura

Young Jade's attitude at the beginning, had me rooting for Billie the whole season!
I've never hated 2 characters from different timeliness in one show 😭😂 jade was the most annoying character out of the whole show 😑
That’s the biggest and really only issue I had with the show. I don’t mind changing the canon and going in a new direction, but Billie and Jade were insufferable in both timelines. I cannot stand whinny, bratty kids that think they know better and end up getting a bunch of people killed.
Honestly, I hope they don’t make more seasons of this shitty show, I liked Infinite darkness better.

Bingo!!! 🎯 How does one suck in the main plot AND the backstory? It was refreshing to see Billie grow a pair and ditched the simp role...and telling Jade about herself and how her Steve Urkel clumsy obnoxious existence gets everyone around her killed was breathtaking. It leaves one to wonder if she sprayed her boyfriend with Z-repellent before she left him at the seaside to find her daughter? Knowing her, probably not😂, she'll get him killed too! #SeasonTwoFeedJadeToTheZeez😍
I think Bea is somehow special, stemming from Albert's gene manipulation of Jade. He mentioned how his daughter mastered Spanish at the age of 4 as a result, and we see several times that Bea similarly breezes through and masters various arts and practices. This could just be a mutation from the prior gene manipulation, but I think it will be important to find out who her biological dad is to say anything for sure.

I hated the teenage girls, they'd mess up royally and then not learn their lesson and keep fucking up! Why? Also, they were so moody and obnoxious. i couldn't actually root for either one of them because i felt like they were both horrible people.

Jesus christ I hated every moment either of those 2 kids (especially young Jade) were on the screen, I almost wish they just focused on the older Jade story and just referenced their childhood through speaking about it.
Yes!!!! I swear I didn't like Jade from the beginning til the end. All she cared about was herself and it didn't matter what no one else thought or said she did what she wanted and when she wanted. And for someone who is supposed to be more concerned with preserving humanity she got tons of people killed! And than actually believing her sister would let her go when Umbrella had already proven they would do ANYTHING to get her back. When she and Billie have their confrontation in the last episode I found myself agreeing with much of what Billie said about Jade, and she's supposed to be our villan 🤔🤣🤣

Ok but my biggest question is why did Billy have to tell Jade that their father was dead during ep6 (I think) if they saw him die in the explosion? Also, why did she say that he was asking for her, and how did he survive for so long without her blood?
Not sure, but maybe they were talking about Bert, although they both know he’s dead so I’m not sure what the hells up with that

How there’s what looks like an unfinished style Tyrant in a tank when they’ve already perfected and mass produced them as “Mr. X” and “Nemesis “. How the security guard managed to roughhouse with Billy without getting bitten. I want to like this show but it’s just so far flung from the source material.

One thing that confused me .. when Jade finds out Billie is alive, she asked “how’s dad” and Billie says “he died asking for you” and they bantered for a moment about who was his favorite. But at the end with the younger timeline, we see their dad himself for them when he blows up the umbrella lab.. unless they were referring to Bert who died asking for Jade ?? But did I miss something ? lol

I liked it overall but I didn’t like how it didn’t show how the sisters separated at the end and them becoming enemies
One thing I don't like is when shows end on huge cliff hangers. There are ways to wrap up a entire season story and still continue to the next season. The show kept my attention and I didn't think it was bad, but if I wait another season just for it to end like this one, I probably will give up on it.
I think we saw a the change in there relationship at the end.

I thought it was very enjoyable. Some moments were a little out of place but overall Its an interesting take on the RE universe.
Standout character for me is Evelyn, she’s very dynamic and unnerving to watch like you don’t know how she will react to a given situation.
By the end she is utterly reprehensible but I think there’s something more going on with her that we’ve yet to see.
It's made explicit that Evelyn's project monster was the journalist from Tijuana, Angel something.

You think Dr James Marcus committed suicide after losing the company? She seemed so obsessed in one of the last episodes about Joy, and it taking away anxiety, depression, etc etc. She seemed uncharacteristically emotional in that scene.

Black wesker, lesbian teenager main character, boy with 2 mothers, teenager going to hightech lab for vegan sht. The story doesnt make sense. Switching between future and past teenage drama was hell.
Not sure why people hated it. It might have started off poorly but it got better after every episode. It was quiet enjoyable and theyve left a lot for the future seasons. Really happy with it in the end.
People hated it because it had nothing to do with the video games. It's like WWZ, Assassin's Creed, Halo (Paramount's show), and other adaptations. It's not a proper adaptation.

Jade would have never given Billie the idea to rescue the rabbits, she wouldn't have been bitten, and this whole ordeal would've never happened. I can't fathom the best resident evil film was the very first one. Hated it at the time. But after seeing the other 4 or 5 released in that series I grew to enjoy the first. As the others weren't even remotely interesting. Racoon city could have been better had it not been rushed...honestly I kind of liked the campy feeling of it, I didn't care that Leon didn't look like a preppy high-schooler. And now this Netflix series... lol who thought this story up?

Overall, I did enjoy watching the show as it's so much different than the game and the rest of the RE movies/shows. Between the two sisters, I like Billie more than I would ever like Jade; she's such an impulsive self-centre person who only cares about her own goals and missions, while the rest be dammed. She doesn't think about the consequences of her actions or how many deaths she has caused like bringing a zero to the boat causing her old friend to die and also telling her daughter to run away when all the umbrella really wants was to capture Jade and whatnot. Nothing was more satisfying to me than seeing jade get shot throughout the entire show I just had a pure hatred for her
Jade is the worst. When Billie went off on her saying she was the virus, I 🤷🏽 and said she's not wrong. 🤣
I hated both, Billie more due to her being emo teen and thinking all the time that she's special, not normal and suddenly she's immune to the virus and for me that's annoying.
it's like using the typical bullied teen and making them a hero/more powerful/stronger etc.
On the other hand, for Jade, the older Jade made a cure similar to the one in World War Z where you can disguise yourself from zombies, that can help you fight them, which was nice. She was able to make a small bottle of pheromones and she was basically invisible to the zombie in their ship until Bea screwed it. Now, creating that on a larger scale and making it available to humans would make the world a better place.
Billie was trash too. She technically killed Simon and forced Evelyn to shoot him, and then when she was an adult she literally became just like Evelyn hungry for power she even smiled while killing her own men with the drones. I wanted that giant croc to absolutely devour her and Evelyn at once.
It was a small part but you will see on the ship before jade leaves to confront Umbrella, she has her scent camo spray in her hand. So I can somewhat understand how she got through the zombies. The issues arises when Billie hits her and she has a nose bleed. In the beginning of the season we saw how zombies can smell blood (with the rabbit then when jade cuts herself) so it no longer makes sense because when she is running she no longer has a bloody nose. I guess she just stopped the bleeding before everything went down

I think when they said about the virus getting weaker, they mean that with the virus evolution it becomes less deadly but more transmissible, just like some worldwide respiratory virus that we all know. In the Resident evil case they hope that the virus will evolve to a form less harmful to the host so it can spread easier to more carriers.
They could have just done a frame by frame live action remake of RE and it would get at least a 70% on Rotten Tomato. This is just hot garbage.

Thank you for this video I’ve watch many that were just slamming this series claiming they were fans and as an OG fan as the episodes continued I got more and more hooked this is a new story to the universe and look forward to season 2 it’s like seeing the children of the OG characters carry on the franchise
Yeah, the early episodes definitely disappointed but it got better. It's not what I was hoping for but it was an okay watch.

I'm afraid I cannot relate. The show started off pretty promising, but the further it got, the more disconnected I felt. As a viewer, at no point did I feel awarded nor could I empathise with the characters and their motives. It was too slow and too rushed all at the same. The script and the characters felt so unfinished. And considering that I am usually the one, who enjoys most of the movies others dislike, I think it says a lot. :/

You don’t have to be an “OG Fan” to like the show nor do you have to be a person who doesn’t know anything about resident evil to like this show. I am a HUGE fan of resident evil and I loved the name drops, connections to the games characters, and the zombies AND CHAINSAW GANADO was an amazing surprise. But HOLY DAMN was that show cringey and annoying. The characters were bad, the CGI was bad, Umbrellas CEO Evelyn was just a pile of shit that was thrown into our faces. I understand the bias in some fans but shiiiiiiit give credit where credit is due, even if the credit goes to making a awful show/film. Feels like another sequel to the movie franchise.
They actually thought this was a good idea, and no where in production did they say lets just start over and follow the plot of the novel, webcomics, video games, and spin off series. They could’ve literally made their own show without any umbrella or resident evil connection.
Sure, but then people wouldn't be swayed by a familiar brand. Everyone here watched this because it was branded RE. If they'd named it "another generic zombie show", it wouldn't be nearly as profitable. So don't blame the creators, blame the fools that keep giving them money for this tripe.
I love that the makers of this “show”* especially the teen focused elements and/or the part where Lance was dressed as Blade with a high top and legit thought they were going to get a second season.

I am really curious because I rewatch the Resident Evil Last Chapter which there is Alice and Doctor Isaacs and in Alice's narrative story, Alicia is the daughter of James Marcus who is a co-owner of Umbrella Corporation. Now, my question is, who is Evelyn Marcus in James Marcus and Alicia's lives? Are they relatives?
You know what I don't understand why they didn't just continue with the Resident Evil last chapter it just may a continue storyline that would have been way much better this new Resident Evil is just so all around the place I just wish they could have just continued the story the way it was so people can understand it a whole lot better if you know what I mean

Also, if they wanted to expand upon Wesker's story why not just make a series following his son? I would love to learn more about him (Jake Muller) and of course have Sherry in it too. Throw in Leon and Claire and other MCs and there you go. And if they're going to see Ada in season 2 (assuming there will be one) they gotta introduce Leon.
I think we are going to se an old Ada Wong, after all this is way into the future from the original RE-games. They move into the "New Raccoon City" after all and they say the old one got nuke way back which would be the first game. So if we are going to se characters from the games they are going to be old. I think Re4 takes place around 2005 or something? But an old Ada and Leon should sit on a lot of information I guess...
I think the more they stay away from my original characters the better

Raccoon city wouldn’t be nuked till the end of 2 and also end of 3, and as for the timeline here, RE4 is irrelevant as it’s already mentioned the original Albert Wesker died, which means that it’s been a long time since RE5 and 6. The 2022 timeline is happening almost side by side with RE Villages timeline pretty much, but probably not in the same universe.
if they will make a season 2 they better introduce the winter family and the storyline how miranda and spencer met and founded the umbrella.
can't wait to see Nigerian Leon, Peruvian Jill, Jamaican Chris and Thai Claire.

The thing that I love about this is that it’s so clearly wasn’t scripted to be for resident evil it’s like a show they basically kept semi-blank and crazy bland. Then someone Resident evil with 85% of a finish script at 65% of shot footage

These are good theories! Although I do think that we might get some sort of glimpse on how Billie and Jade end up seprating from each other. Remember they say that Billie chose umbrella and Jade did not. Although this is something that might be explored in the adult timeline. But overall I want a season 2

I enjoyed this season
The guy playing Albert Wesker can play a badass, watch the John Wick movies. However, dressed as Wesker and trying to pull off Wesker's mannerism was one of the funniest things I ever saw. He looks way too much of a bookworm to pull off that look, add into that everyone associates Wesker as a white guy and it just becomes a comedy act for that whole scene.
Also this show is definitely NOT Resident Evil.
Did they also explain how tf he changed his skin from a blonde white man into a black man? Not to mention he somehow has two daughters and since Netflix stated that this series is canon to the main game. God I'm so confused! I'm glad I didn't watch this nonsense garbage.
I think Antony Starr (Homelander) could be a great Albert Wesker
@@ayeskidman9269 the directors said that it wasn't canon to the game but instead the show was going to be its own story using the events of Raccoon city that happened previously, so I don't know where you got that info

The fat guy Richard who work for umbrella and chasing Jade early on is really bad ass, liked his tone.

A lot of ppl hate on the show but as a huge re fan I enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to the next season.

Honestly I had fun watching the show. Course, that may have something to do with me being not as familiar with RE lore as most others. Baxter was such a fun villain to have around, Albert was one of my fave characters, his moments with Billie were so full of emotion and I loved seeing their relationship regardless of what kind of scene it was.
One of my only major gripes, aside from some kinda weird and out of place dialogue, is Jade as a character. She comes off to me as kind of annoying and insensitive, with very little consideration for those around her, in 2022 and in 2036. It's like she's angry and pissed and disregarding people for the sake of doing so.

Thank you for the summary. I thought they tried way too hard with this show and it wasn’t believable enough for me to forgive it’s flaws and suspend my own belief to embrace the ridiculousness. This could’ve been great but it fell short. I gave up shortly after the dog bite and Jade was on the run. I skipped to the last episode to see how it ended. I found nothing to make me want to go back and watch the other episodes. I tried to like it, but the characters aren’t likable and it was a struggle for me to care about what happened to them. I’m not a fan of hopping back and forth from past to future multiple times throughout the episode. Just do it at the beginning or the end for clarification but not every other scene. Its not helpful especially when the kids are less likable and less interesting than when they’re adults. It’s like they couldn’t decide who they wanted their target audience to be.
It’s hard to do with Resident Evil because everyone’s nitpicky over everything and it makes their jobs 100x harder for nothing. And Jade was such a shit MC, I wish it would have followed Billy instead tbh
I think episodes 4 to the end of the season were much better than the first 3 episodes. I felt that it was much more enjoyable altogether if you decide to give it another chance.

Would've been better than this garbage. How is it even connected? How did they expect Resident Evil fans to react at all? It just doesn't make sense, theres no way they thought fans of the series would like this nonsense. Names simply there to attract more attention to a cringe teenage apocalypse story.
@@sophie07079 I watched a tiny bit of each episode after she went on the run and then watched about 50% of the last episode. I call it speed watching. I can generally tell if I’m going to go back and watch it straight through. I’m not really impressed but not decided one way or the other if I’ll pick it up and watch it again. I just don’t like the characters that much. I found nothing really redeeming in them. They were bratty kids and unlikable adults. I like the father but that actor could read from the phone book and make it his own.
I played the games and watched the films, and I didn't really care about the changes made to the point of being triggered.
I mean, it was mentioned that OG Wesker died in a volcano, meaning that Chris canonically punched a boulder in this series!
I was triggered by the bad writing, particularly the episode on the ship, no repercussions for her actions other than a brief scolding.
What sane person would bring a zero on a boat full of people who are safe?
If she wanted to bring a zero she could’ve at least done a lot to make sure it didn’t get let loose. Like have a gun or tell something to stand guard if it ever escapes. Also why bring your young child near a bloody zombie. She begging for something bad to do it.

Simons death scene actually scared me
This was a good generic zombie show. I'm not a Resident evil fan so idk how this looks with the games. Episodes 6 to 8 I must say really surprised me with how it balanced the horror and suspense and I wish they did this with earlier episodes because it felt as if there really was no edge in the beginning of the 2022 timeline. I enjoyed this show overall and I hope these bad reviews don't get this show cancelled. (As of July 16th, 2022 it hit #1 trending in the US knocking Stranger Things to #2. Quite the feat I must say)
Wesker Died in RE1. He later appears in RE: Code Veronica, That Weaker is a Clone, which is explained in RE5. So the first Clone made Copies of its self hence the 4 Weskers.
Wesker shot a virus that's why he survived. Re1 original and re1 remake. Re Veronica wesker is wesker. Re5 wesker is wesker. Don't cope too much.

Except, in throw away lines, they are not zombies..they are still alive. And Wesker created MANY more clones..pretty sure they mentioned a team of 20.

Yeah myself and I only was able to do 2 episodes and that was it for us.
I like this take. It's a reboot with a fresh take. I hope it grows more to be like the games and introduce all main characters like Chris and Jill and Leon and Claire.

Evelyn killing her son was the best part of the show.
It was a quick and easy way to stop the infection and chaos done by the virus.

The virus wasn’t the reason behind the girls causing the end of the world, hell they didn’t even do that. It’s Albert and Bert who made the bomb that released the mutant, but I do agree that Evelyn killing Simon was a highlight, I didn’t even process it until the shootout finished
I was shocked Evelyn did that... I really thought she was going to aim at Billie. Considering in that moment Billie was standing by herself so she could have easily done that.
The dude in the Tank is probably just the proto tyrant from the original game
The daughter CEO, the “villain” is great in playing bad, a smile behind threatening eyes - the scene with the scissors cutting the rat head - cold blood psycho - scary
