If WNBA leadership does not take their job (and player safety) seriously, maybe it's time to start calling out NBA leadership. After all, it's NBA that keeps WNBA afloat.

Forget for a second that this is Clark and Carrington. You have a player purposely injuring another with a career threatening attack. This needs to end no matter who is involved.
Clark is set financially if her eye is poked out, but what about the players earning league minimum and a family at home to feed?
Englebert needs to take action, whether it be addressing these issues or stepping down as commissioner so that somebody competent can.

I followed Caitlin from college to the WNBA and am completely blindsided by how comprised the coaches were and then they let it slip out that in game one of Caitlin's preseason that opposing teammates were girlfriends. Now the players are compromised. That's why betting shouldn't be allowed. I'm done with compromised sports and the wnba. I'll follow Caitlin to any league - except the wnba. I'll watch Caitlin until the Fever are eliminated - then no more wnba.

David Stern would never stand for any of this. I said by game two that this league is the land of Oz....looks pretty from the outside until the curtain is pulled back...and wow..was it ever exposed. There should never be any wonder why people/basketball fans have turned their back on this product.

It's not just CC that gets assaulted, it maybe appears that way because the cameras are on her all the time. There's certain players who are dangerous, 3 of them play for the Sun. Maybrey, Thomas, Carrington. Totally agree Commissioner is too friendly with players which is affecting her decisions.

Many have gotten tired of the poor quality of the wnba. It starts at the top with the commissioner who, by her lack of response, has approved. Apparently, like Indiana's general manager, Dunn, who just "shut out the fans because it was too much," she is not listening. The poor performance of the officials not following the rules of basketball and refusal to protect Clark from targeting violence by opponents infuriate fans and jeopardize the league.
FIX the wnba BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

    • @jamesballard3457

Before any MMA fighter is allowed into the ring/octagon, they are visually and physically inspected to ensure that there's nothing on the fighter, either out in the open or hidden, that might injure their opponent.
This includes items hidden within the hair or any foreign object or natural object with a sharp edge, INCLUDING MAKING SURE THAT ALL NAILS ARE TRIMMED. Get rid of the weaves, nails, and eyelashes because sometimes vanity comes at too high of a price.

Why not in the WNBA where player safety is a constant concern?

The WNBA is way over its head. There was no compelling reason for me to be a fan until Clark came along. The commissioner and management have done nothing to correct this soap opera league. Fake long fingernails, refs worse than high school, blatant, egregious fouls not reviewed, no consequences for thug play. Conflicts of interest between lovers on opposing teams. They cannot even accept and embrace a game changing league savior. The commissioner must go, and management gutted and overhauled. If not, they will watch the house go down in flames. All the Clark effect growth will disappear, and the league will stay in the welfare line with its hat out for the NBA net.

Eyes of America n the world is on the WNBA. Love hard play and competition. But we all know what it looks n sounds like to be judged wrong for the way we look. It’s a horrible feeling. Shame on a league full of players that should know what it feels like.

The WNBA has been around since 1973 when it was just a thought.
There was the Girl's Basketball Leage, the Red Heads. It was in existence for almost 50 years.
There was WBL and another one I believe.
In the beginning the reporting was rather unkind. Women who wore basketball shorts were classified as unsavory.
There are laws which say girls sports can exist without huge viewership.
It's Football Season. Everthing can not always be about "racism" and twisting of words always looking for an escape goat.
Something is definitely wrong and off in the WNBA. The History of Sports betting in unreal.
