Love the pick, he’s a major steal and a perfect fit! And a better prospect than Mims who might have quit on his team last year. Love this pick and am still surprised he fell to 20!! Now get WR and Center, maybe both in the 2nd 🔥
Love it. Dude was a Stiller before he was even drafted. WHO RIDE!?!?!?
Seems to flourish better on the right. Great versatility
I'm feeling better about this pick after watching a bunch of tape on Fautanu. Still concerned about his run blocking and also the potential switch to the right...He looks very physically capable but not everyone can do everything on either side. We will see.
Run blocking is just will power and strength. Both coachable and fixable 🤔
@@imilreeves1483 yeah, also, after watching a lot of tape, his run blocking didn't look as bad as his run-block rating would suggest. I guess I'm getting on board with this pick now. I didn't even have him on my big board because 1) I really thought we would pick a RT. And 2) I thought he would be long gone by 20. But, ok, cool. Rd. 2&3 let's go!!!
Respectfully, I think we’ve been hating on Dan Moore too much. Dude has outplayed his draft pick and been a consistent starter. Not elite, but I hope we can keep him as solid depth when someone goes down.
Yea he’s definitely a good swing tackle
I thought I was the only one that felt that way about the maroon goon
Exactly when steeler nation get there hooks in a guy it dont matter what he does folks will hate em forever
That boy buns 😂. If jones wasnt versatile his spot wouldve been gone.
He has shown improvement year over year, but anyway u look at it Fautanu is an upgrade.
I think Training Camp will determine that notion. I think Troy Right, Jones Left for now. But it's early yet.
Tonight I hope Center & Corner are picked, 98 could be WR, but I think LB like Junior Colson works too
I'm with you. I think center at 51, receiver & corner with 84 & 98
When have we ever started a rookie? Dan Moore is not as bad as you think and will be so happy to have him if anybody gets hurt.
A role player not a starter
Moore can't play right tackle so he is only depth. Broderick is now the starter at left tackle. Fautanu has position flexibility and will get his opportunity at right tackle.
The best of the best case scenario!
Love the pick! Now, trade up and get Frazier or Powers and it's a home run draft with the first two picks!
Love THIS PICK now we go get Frazier or JPJ today I might explode 🔥🔥🔥
I am in love with our front office. Attacking the trenches to ensure you have a great run game to work play action off of it. Great pick. Now DRAFT A CENTER!
Love this pick. Let's go!!!
Have to say I love the pick and never thought we would get him due to how far he would fall. Something to love about the OL now is it’s pretty versatile. Troy will be a starting OT but he has the ability to play anywhere on the OL (maybe not center) and with Broderick Jones we drafted him to play LT but as we saw last season he’s a great RT as well. So I am honestly okay with team either keeping Broderick at RT or moving him back to LT. Since Broderick showed he can play both OT spots and so can Troy.
We have a few possible routes on this round. If we trade up you can get a good WR, a good CB, ensure a Center. But what is available in Rd 3 if we trade one of the 3s to go up? I seriously think Van Pran isnt an option now. Fuatanu is a mauler. Why would we take a non mauler at Center in Van Pran? Tanor Bortolini is a mauler. He isn't a project in real terms compared to Green. Bortolini IMO would be a high Rd 3 to low Rd 2 if not for the first round circus we had along with 6 QBs. Lets say for the sake of argument Weidle has him graded that way. That board is still worth trading up on. Cooper DeJean, TJ Tampa, Rakestraw, Ohorhoro, Edgerin Cooper, Franklin, Cooper Beebe. They could grab Beebe and move Daniels to Center. Beebe is the best Guard in this draft. Is it ideal? No, but what it does is force Daniels to be a good Center or be forced out the following year while giving you a ridiculous stud at Guard for the next 8 to 10 years. Saves a ton of cap space as well. Daniels flops. Tanor then starts. Would we go OL that many times? You want a healthy QB you do. Rd 2 is going to be a good player. Im not opposed to burning both 3s to get another 2nd. This board is still sick looking. As far as this supposed trade? Not opposed to Aiyuk. Good blocker. They could trade George. I think GP isnt that stable mentally. What if they got both Aiyuk and Sutton while trading GP? Just spit balling lol. GP would get you a second. Aiyuk should cost a 3rd Rder because of the salary. Sutton would be a 4th or 5th. Or a pick swap.
He could be the best talent in the draft, saw some giving the Steelers a draft grade of A+. Here’s my problem:
Will it translate in Pittsburgh? A city that thought Kevin Dotson was a lost cause, then he goes to LA and gets paid. A team that brought in Isaac Seumalo, a player who had a former teammate in Philadelphia call him the smartest player he’s ever played with, yet I’ve heard people say Isaac had the worst year of his career in Pittsburgh. Can this team develop players on the line??
Right tackle guys. He was left OT with a left handed QB. Should be able to hold down the Right. Regardless, great pick!!
Smallest lineman in the draft especially for tackle and has chronic arthritic knees according to multiple reports for these 2 hige res flags wid have taken 1 of the 2 best cb’s on the planet with it being such a pass happy league now.
Stop reading the reports. You will drive yourself crazy.
Love the pick...we stole this pick! A+ grade!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Troy is going to play on the right side get him over there from day one taking all the snaps on the right side then get Jones on the left side and never look back unless Jones wants to stay on the right side.
Great show, however I need to correct you guys. Even though Colbert was the GM, Tomlin set the draft board and made the picks
I agree Kahn hasn't done nothing yet, no where near the accomplishments Colbert has achieved. We haven't won a playoff game yet with Kahn or done anything special. And Mike Tomlin is responsible for the bad picks as well. So yeah this makes zero or no sense to me.
@@jimbosrcgarage is Weidel sets the board , makes the picks and Khan negotiates the signings to fit under the cap and works with Weidel to target FA’s they could be the pair that rescues this franchise from Tomlin
You could make Troy the right guard and move the right guard to center and leave the rest the same as last year.
He played on the left side for a left handed QB so his natural position is right tackle.
Troy will be RT because he protected the front side of Penix which is where teams usually run, so he is used to protecting that side.
Broderick is more of the anchor and will protect the blind side of our right-handed QBs. He was drafted to play LT.
I really think we were going to go Mims until the Bengals took him at 18
Who else wanted Thomas jr when he fell to us
David De Castro
Remind me how's Pickens Knee doing? 😂
Dan Moore was a rookie when he started
Honestly I would leave him as LT also Steelers definitely put knee rumour out there.
I’m not a fan of this pick, we should’ve gone center before anything bc we barely even have one on the roster. Plus I’m worried about Fautanu’s injury history.
Am I the only one who noticed that when Broderick Jones moved from left tackle to right tackle he and the entire offensive line played better? So why move him back to left tackle...that makes no sense? Make Troy left tackle, and keep Jones at right tackle since he seems to play better there....no brainer!!!!!
Steelers need to let players play their natural positions… Steelers always be tweaking the o-line. If you draft a right guard don’t put him at center or left guard. Whatever
Man yaw know no way in hell tomlin gunna start 2 rookies on the oline if any
I think he'll be playing guard in two years to replace Daniels. Won't play at all this season because he'll have a really blah performance in the preseason and camp.
Left or Right handed QB is meaningless. LT is LT, RT is RT, regardless of QB throwing arm… it’s weird ppl keep acting like this makes him a RT. Let them compete and put them both at the spot they earn through competition. Best man wins LT
Put him on the right Jones on the left bye bye Dan more gots to go
Bye bye Dan Moore pack your bags
No center haha y’all with that center first shit
We got nobody, he doesn't even play RT. We got 3 LT's wtf!
The QB he protected in college is left handed so he's used 2 not protecting the blindside. We have right handed QBs now so he'll protect the right & put Jones at LT, his natural position
???
Jones played RT last season... in the NFL... and he kicked ass.
Fautanu can literally play any OL position.
you don't understand OL players, at all. The best OLs on their college teams are slotted @ OT.
The best baseball players @ lower levels are slotted @ SS... and then at higher levels they move to 2b/3b/OF because there's only one SS/team. OTs often move around the same way
🤦♂️
@@mpower1969 wow we get a flexible band-aid for the 1st round pick.
Dude slow. Dont bother explaining to a 🤡@@kelseydortch9037
Fautanu is going to get ran over by defenders because of his small size. This pick was a joke.
Some people never happy lol...don't watch then 😅
Exactly.. if the Steelers would had draft someone else.. some fans would had complained about that pick...
boy, you are sooooooo wrong.
you'll be watching DEs abuse Mims for the next three years, not Fautanu.
you know dick , watch some film maybe you learn something
We have two quarterbacks who led the league for being the most sacked because they hold the ball and scramble around trying to make plays. You can have the best tackles in the league and there still going to be the most sacked in the league, just based on there play style and history. We dropped the ball with Mason and now we have a gaping hole at WR and Center. You think a rookie is going to come in and replace Dionte right away? lol. I don't think so. Or a rookie center is just going to come in and start right away if we don't land Frazier in the second round. No way unless they want another Kendrick Green scenario again. There rolling the dice again.
Broderick has been playing RIGHT and doing a fine job why move two players let Troy stay at left unless he struggles .... Just my 2 Cents
