Thinking you need to follow Jason at Cog Hill example and use silage tarps. I think it will help with the weeds and grass.

I agree. The silage tarp will last for ever. Also Crandall don’t put your rosemary in a bed it will take over the whole thing. Seen it happen.

DO NOT TOSS OUT THE BASIL!!!! You can dry it, store it in a mason jar, and still use it for cooking, etc.😉 You can also use the rosemary as a shrub up near your house. They are very hardy. If you take green cuttings, like your basil, you can root more plants.
You can give your overgrown basil plant to your chickens. It's good for them.

Basil makes goodctea ir dried spice. You could put the ones in the pots in thd greenhouse...or rellant them when yiurd done cleaning up

Maverick is such a smart little boy for his age. And because you’re such a hands-on dad, he’s learning a lot of life lessons and how to do everything which I’m assuming you got that from your dad and I am Mavericks getting it from his awesome.
A lot of that basil can be dried/dehydrated and stored for use in cooking where fresh would be used.
Crandall you work so hard even when you are just getting the small things done around the farm. It’s a lot of work for one person.

The basil can be used to make pesto or dried. Trim the plant then cut the root ball into quarters then replant.

When your basil plants go to seed the leaves get bitter. Just buy a new little plant to put in your herb garden
You could clean out the chicken house and scatter it on the garden when the fall garden is done, till it under and next spring, you can till it up again and plant stuff. The chicken manure will fertilize the garden and make your veggies grow better.
Why not use the huge green house instead?
If you get ether a couple sheets of aluminum or plastic and slide it in between each plant you won’t get the roots crossed,Just a FYI ❤

Awesome job! Ugh transition from summer to fall garden clean up is never fun but well worth it. We've had voles or moles pretty bad too. The place is coming along, can't wait to see all the changes!

I started watching y’all when you went to Lester’s and built the chicken coop. Marci you were pregnant with the twins. All the boys have grown up so fast and Maverick is so smart and helpful. Yes a garden is rewarding!!! I will be picking everything out of my garden in the morning. It's relaxing and takes the stress away. Also; you don't have to pay high prices in grocery stores!

I always marinate my deer, elk, antelope, wild hog, etc. in buttermilk over night. The enzymes in the buttermilk tenderizes it so you dont need other enzymes or aminos.❤
That was like 2 plants in the pot. You could just split in half. Half for porch half for herb bed

Please don’t get rid of that beautiful Basil plant. Plant herbs in the front of your house, they will grow to small bushes and Marcy can go grab them for cooking right out your front door.
I am not a gardener, but wouldn't a fence around the garden help. Maybe using the tarp would help! My theory is the best offense is defence!

I dont do the pull up and start from bare dirt. I do semi permaculture when i have a plot and it works well. You just use scissors or small pruners to trim back . I spose you could just mow over never tried it. Unless you have certain plant born diseases or insect pest issues theres really no need to clear it. You can just trim bavmck and plant.
You should of moved the chickens to the garden n put up electric fence n let them clean n fertilize your soil

This entire video with all the parts tht has lil Mav in tht helmet 😂 My lil guy has helped me work our garden since he could walk. Which would make him 9 months old, 👍🏻😁 yep he was just a baby. He has always loved being in the dirt, making him a little hole and putting him a seed in it. And when my lil guy started riding age 3 he would put his lil helmet on and he wouldn’t take it off. If we were in the garden or working the flower beds, etc. he would have his helmet on. And when he would take tht thing off his hair would be soaking wet and I felt so bad for him. I tried getting him to take tht dang thing off, especially when we were in the garden in tht hot sun 🥵Seeing lil Mav do tht def brings back the memories 🥰 my lil guy is 9 now 🥲 they grow up waayyyy to fast for me anyway, LoL. Mav and my lil guy r soooo much alike, I know the biggest difference is shoes. My lil guy loves his boots for sure, but majority of the time he’s barefooted or he will just slide his Crocs on if he has a pair in front of him on the way out. He doesn’t like to take the time to stop and put shoes on his feet , so barefoot it is 👍🏻🤣 Mav is just a sweetie 🥰 watching him in the kitchen, so cute. Mine still loves being in the kitchen. He will go to the coop and get the eggs, and the dog houses,😂. And he will come back inside and scramble “him” an egg for breakfast. He doesn’t really eat eggs for tht matter,😂😂 He goes out to get them just so he can be a “cooker” 😂 Pax & Harvey r such cuties also, I’m def thankful tht I had boys,💯👍🏻 I grew up playing in the dirt, I wasn’t a nail & hair gal.
