Maryam Braiber I was told it was Haram too but the amount of hair and the hair type on my eyebrows was insane ! To the point I resembled a boy! I had to get them shaped ...😶😶😟 But there are girls who have very slight hair yet they get them done , which I find so weird ! But it's their choice at the end of the day 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🌻💛🌻
I think it is extremist and ridiculous that some of you think getting your eyebrows done is haram... There is no where in the quran that says doing your eyebrows is haram, not everything you hear from scholars is true.

Muslim women are allowed to tweeze or wax or laser their eyebrows to neaten them and to ensure they don't resemble men's eyebrows. This is grooming which is allowed. However shaping the eyebrow into a totally different shape than its original shape is not allowed. Mufti Menk has explained this well in his videos. xoxo, luv:) !
I work at a salon styling hair and waxing eyebrows in the United States. I have never been Muslim and watch these types of videos just to learn more about other people around the world. I have waxed eyebrows for hijabis in the past and no one has ever told me that there is anything religious about it at all. I tend to be a very conservative waxer, though, and clean up eyebrows more than totally reshaping them. Middle Eastern Women tend to have full, beautiful eyebrows and I don't like to tamper with that formula.

When I started wearing hijab or niqab, I got the same type of questioning from people of our own faith. It was really disappointing and confusing because we would expect people of our ummah to be the most understanding. But I have accepted to give the benefit of the doubt. I'm not a Muslim so it doesn't mean anything to me personally whatever the heck anyone wants to do with their eyebrows (or anything else) but I have often wondered the same thing when watching hijab tutorials, etc. So many girls wear hijab without following certain other Islamic teachings. Like I said, it makes no difference to me but I'm glad to see someone addressing a topic like this.

Aunties would give me their unsolicited opinions about my eyebrows “the only thing wrong with your face is your eyebrows “ while they have half an eyebrow but I would never say anything hurtful like that to them. i love my eyebrows and they literally bullied me for having thick brows. Another option for bushy eyebrows is bleaching the hairs. It is not considered plucking since you are not actually removing the hairs. This way you don't have to worry about crossing the line when removing the stray hairs.

There was a time I wanted to thread my eyebrows because people told me to. Even Muslims. So I asked my mom and sister and they told me it was haram. I mean at first I was a bit upset but over time I realized how dumb it was to want to change my eyebrows solely because others wanted me to. I never had a problem with them but because people told me they need to be “fixed” I changed my mind. I love my eyebrows the way they are and I’m glad you do too!

Girl, i'm from Indonesia and i understand that eyebrow thing is a very difficult challenge for some woman, but you have a natural beautiful lashes too. Me have no lashes at all and i also struggle not to have extension on it while everyone are having full thick lashes. Southeast and eastern asian has genetically thin or no lashes. Hair extension including lashes is also forbidden.
hi niken, i am from indonesia also try extra virgin olive oil and aloe vera, it does help your eyebrow to grow, and for eye lashes, i also have thin and short eye lashes, and i start using itsmid before going to sleep (it also sunnah btw), alhamdulillah that also helps my eye lashes to grow stronger and little bit longer and thicker

I have Bushy eyebrows I don't really do anything to but brush. Everyone tries to convince you that you'll look soooo much better but honestly even without the Islamic aspect it's just painful and an extra hassle and cost to me.

I've always been Muslim, but I've recently ,you can say fixed my deen more, and let go of makeup in general and been thinking more about what is halal and what is haram , I'm considering hijab and just today it occurred to me that maybe plucking my brows is not okay. unfortunately so many opinions differ so Jazaki Allah Khair for clearing everything up and gathering all the information in one place. I think what happens nowadays is that we bargain, in our religion, family also has an impact, I was young and someone took me to the salon and I just never really knew it was haram til more recent years and I thought namas meant tattoo which I didn't do. I grew up with really bushy and dark brows like yours (from my mums side lol) It took me some time to get used to them but now alhamdullilah i love them and ppl constantly ask me how i do them or fill them in when I literally just comb them and go 😁 nice to see someone who shares the same views as me ❤️❤️

I have thick eyebrows and I do get them threaded every 2 to 3 months. However I make SURE the lady ONLY cleans them and keeps the NATURAL shape. Usually it gets very bushy if I let them be so I do have to clean them but I make sure they’re not those really thin eyebrows. I don’t think that’s okay tbh in Islam. I finally watched the video (two days after I said I would😬😅). But I have a question. I only pluck my eyebrows in between and above them and on the sides, I also trim them on top when they get bushy (without thinning and shaping them of course). But I don't pluck the hairs below my eyebrows, i.e. the hairs near my eyelids, because I thought that was Haram even if they're not part of my eyebrows or won't result in shaping my eyebrows. But I see you do it. So is it Halal to remove those "stray" hairs below the eyebrows? I'm not married btw, so no husband to look good for😅 it's just for myself and to look like a decent human being out there..

To be honest, I don't know anything about falsies. I did wear them to my wedding but I guess it should be ok for special occasions. I think it depends on who you ask :D
Falsies are haram sis, don't fall into the trap! Whether it's for special occasions or not, don't do it! Just don't pluck them at all except the middle and use eyebrow gell and a little concealer and honestly no one will know. Also... You can bleach the small hairs around the eyebrow and that way no problems at all.
my sister has a uni brow can she wax that of and i have really thick but short eye brows so how should i clean them without changing the shape (btw i am 13 and i will be going to hs next year so i was looking forward to improving my eyebrows)
I can’t say much about what other people are doing but for me, as someone who bc she believed that getting your eyebrows done was against Islam, my mother wouldn’t let me get my brows done at all until I was about 20. Now mind you, I would get teased for my eyebrows and for me they were a great source of discomfort. They affected my confidence to a huge extent because there wasn’t really any shape at least not one that I could see bc I had just so much hair that was sparse and spread all around. It was only after I had them tidied up at the age of 20 that I realised that I did in fact have a shape and that actually when I took off the hairs too close to my eyelids and veering into forehead territory, just that little effort gave me so much more confidence. All throughout my teens and childhood I’d look at other people’s brows and wish my brows looked just a little bit everyone else’s - a distinct shape and arch of some sort.
I‘m muslim and I do my eyebrows. I think it‘s okay do that especially when you got very thick one. Islam says „Go with your time“ So that mean for me its okay to trimm and style them. If someone is mobbing you for eyebrows for example you are allowed to trimm them if you want of course. Idk thats just my opinion I couldn’t do what you’re doing but respect for the ones who do that. 💕
I am sorry if you are going to find it rude but I just wanted to point out as a sister in islam, Islam doesn’t say to go with your time, (can you prove the source of this saying from Quran/sunnah/sahaba?) our time has zina, corruption, night clubs and so much evil even in Muslim countries. If we keep up with the time and throw away our modesty and likes (talking generally), it’s kind of hypocritical. Islam says to stick with the Quran and Sunnah. In Quran, it says like tons of time to follow the messenger and so we have that hadith and when i read that hadith almost 4 years ago , it was almost a full stop for my eyebrow routine. I now mostly follow the same routine as her and I have very bushy eyebrows like her, probably more as I have a condition called PCOS that causes excessive hair and i am myself a doctor Alhumdulilah and I know this condition doesn’t have a cure. So I just deal with it (except with facial hair which are halal to remove), at first i was a bit uncomfortable but now I flaunt them and Honestly now i feel nobody notices them, it’s only ourselves who are very critical.
Quran Sunnat Ofc I can‘t tell u the exactly phrases in Quran but I readed them. I just wanted to tell that you‘re not automatically a bad muslim or human for styling your eyebrows. Allah says that he has more mercy than a mother. So I don‘t really think that it‘s the worst thing ever to style them If you want. I‘m muslim too and I‘m trying as good as I can to follow Quran but I had really strong eyebrows in school got bad mobbing about that and at least started styling them. Ay Peri I think as long as they're not pencil thin you're fine. I had the worst busy brows but never got pointed out by others to my face. But I'm sure people thought they looked ugly and needed to be plucked. Started doing them in 8th grade and not even pencil thin. Have always done the brows for myself and not others and that's also okay to make yourself happy. There's nothing bad about it. But doing everything that non-Muslims do is bad. Like botox, eyebrow and eyelash extensions, wigs, and microblading and what not. But doing eyebrows and staying in limit is not bad. Yea but I also won't put it as trying to fit in with others. It's what makes me happy and I know and Allah SWT knows I do it for myself and not even my family. At times if the upper lips need to get done but I need them to grow out more I don't care what my brother say to me. Because I will do them for me when I want to. I understand it's Haram to draw over your brows and change shape as all Americans are doing. I also fill in the brows but once again keeping the shape and the original thickness.
never, I repeat never ruin your natural eyebrow shape, be happy in what Allah has granted you as that's truly beautiful. you should clean your eyebrows and the unwanted unibrow hair or trim your starting hair they be extra big, but never reshape your eyebrows

How come your brow bone area look that clean without plucking it😢 I'm so jealous rn. I plucked my eyebrows so much when i was a teenager because they're so bushy and thick. Plucking made them look so sharp and pretty, everyone would complement my brows. But as i'm 23 now, I've learnt a lot about my religion and i'm trying to improve myself. One of the hardest part of it, is to not pluck my brows. Idk if anyone can relate to this or not but its so hard for me to not pluck my brows. But i'm trying my best. Munirah Ahmad It is true, but I take only what strictly needed. And what obviously God has told me to take from other sources. I do not like following hadiths because you can never ever be 100% sure if it's right or wrong. Saying that you need ahadith is like saying that the Quran is not enough. You can even see what has happened to the ummah through their following of different ahadiths. Now, everyone can do whatever they want. I personally avoid ahadiths because I am scared of doing mistakes involuntarily and that's a choice. I want to face God in my day of judgement and being aware that even if I made mistakes, it was in my wrong interpretation of His Holy message to me and not because I followed ahadiths that I cannot personally prove... I don't know if you can understand me but I feel I am more sure of my faith this way.

My parents are from Turkey and I have really bushy eyebrows too, I think mine are even bushier (is that a word) than yours. And I am kind of happy that I have thick eyebrows so I don’t have to fill them in, but mine are not in shape and it’s really hard to shape them and to get them even. The hair is very thick and hard too and doesn’t look good at all. Yours are soft and in place but mine... I really don’t know what to do. I’ve gotten a lot of hate because of that and a lot of people already bullied me and I am soo insecure about it. That’s probably the biggest reason why I don’t think I’m pretty lol.
Here the thing is you can clean the stray hairs and the unibrow area but the haram thing is if you change the eyebrow shape completely or if you shave it off. So yes you can pluck the little hairs that surround your eyebrows and make sure to maintain your eyebrow shape as well. Also trimming them will help too as well! Hope this helped.

Muslim women are allowed to tweeze or wax or laser their eyebrows to neaten them and to ensure they don't resemble men's eyebrows. This is grooming which is allowed. However shaping the eyebrow into a totally different shape than its original shape is not allowed. Mufti Menk has explained this well in his videos. xoxo, luv:) !
I work at a salon styling hair and waxing eyebrows in the United States. I have never been Muslim and watch these types of videos just to learn more about other people around the world. I have waxed eyebrows for hijabis in the past and no one has ever told me that there is anything religious about it at all. I tend to be a very conservative waxer, though, and clean up eyebrows more than totally reshaping them. Middle Eastern Women tend to have full, beautiful eyebrows and I don't like to tamper with that formula.
If you have freak eyebrows you can fix it but if you don't you should not change the shape by removing hair the only thing to do is bleach

The issue of Muslims wanting to share their opinion on someone practicing something in the deen is not only on eyebrows unfortunately. When I started wearing hijab or niqab, I got the same type of questioning from people of our own faith. It was really disappointing and confusing because we would expect people of our ummah to be the most understanding. But I have accepted to give the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes people are just not aware of things. May Allah help us support each other and follow the deen. Ameen❤️

I'm not a Muslim so it doesn't mean anything to me personally whatever the heck anyone wants to do with their eyebrows (or anything else) but I have often wondered the same thing when watching hijab tutorials, etc. So many girls wear hijab without following certain other Islamic teachings. People born with naturally great eyebrows should be so grateful. Y'all have no idea how frustrating it sometimes gets.
Another option for bushy eyebrows is bleaching the hairs. It is not considered plucking since you are not actually removing the hairs. This way you don't have to worry about crossing the line when removing the stray hairs.

There was a time I wanted to thread my eyebrows because people told me to. Even Muslims. So I asked my mom and sister and they told me it was haram. I mean at first I was a bit upset but over time I realized how dumb it was to want to change my eyebrows solely because others wanted me to. I never had a problem with them but because people told me they need to be “fixed” I changed my mind. I love my eyebrows the way they are and I’m glad you do too!

Girl, i'm from Indonesia and i understand that eyebrow thing is a very difficult challenge for some woman, but you have a natural beautiful lashes too. Me have no lashes at all and i also struggle not to have extension on it while everyone are having full thick lashes. Southeast and eastern asian has genetically thin or no lashes. Hair extension including lashes is also forbidden.

try extra virgin olive oil and aloe vera, it does help your eyebrow to grow, and for eye lashes, i also have thin and short eye lashes, and i start using itsmid before going to sleep (it also sunnah btw), alhamdulillah that also helps my eye lashes to grow stronger and little bit longer and thicker
Try using oils that are good for hairgrowth and put a little bit on lashes. Maybe it will help thicken them. I feel like it works in my case.

I've always been Muslim, but I've recently ,you can say fixed my deen more, and let go of makeup in general and been thinking more about what is halal and what is haram , I'm considering hijab and just today it occurred to me that maybe plucking my brows is not okay. unfortunately so many opinions differ so Jazaki Allah Khair for clearing everything up and gathering all the information in one place.
I think what happens nowadays is that we bargain, in our religion, family also has an impact, I was young and someone took me to the salon and I just never really knew it was haram til more recent years and I thought namas meant tattoo which I didn't do. I have thick eyebrows and I do get them threaded every 2 to 3 months. However I make SURE the lady ONLY cleans them and keeps the NATURAL shape. Usually it gets very bushy if I let them be so I do have to clean them but I make sure they’re not those really thin eyebrows. I don’t think that’s okay tbh in Islam. I finally watched the video (two days after I said I would😬😅). But I have a question. I only pluck my eyebrows in between and above them and on the sides, I also trim them on top when they get bushy (without thinning and shaping them of course). But I don't pluck the hairs below my eyebrows, i.e. the hairs near my eyelids, because I thought that was Haram even if they're not part of my eyebrows or won't result in shaping my eyebrows. But I see you do it. So is it Halal to remove those "stray" hairs below the eyebrows? I'm not married btw, so no husband to look good for😅 it's just for myself and to look like a decent human being out there..

Just don't pluck them at all except the middle and use eyebrow gell and a little concealer and honestly no one will know. Also... You can bleach the small hairs around the eyebrow and that way no problems at all.
my sister has a uni brow can she wax that of and i have really thick but short eye brows so how should i clean them without changing the shape (btw i am 13 and i will be going to hs next year so i was looking forward to improving my eyebrows)
I can’t say much about what other people are doing but for me, as someone who bc she believed that getting your eyebrows done was against Islam, my mother wouldn’t let me get my brows done at all until I was about 20. Now mind you, I would get teased for my eyebrows and for me they were a great source of discomfort. They affected my confidence to a huge extent because there wasn’t really any shape at least not one that I could see bc I had just so much hair that was sparse and spread all around. It was only after I had them tidied up at the age of 20 that I realised that I did in fact have a shape and that actually when I took off the hairs too close to my eyelids and veering into forehead territory, just that little effort gave me so much more confidence. All throughout my teens and childhood I’d look at other people’s brows and wish my brows looked just a little bit everyone else’s - a distinct shape and arch of some sort.

I‘m muslim and I do my eyebrows. I think it‘s okay do that especially when you got very thick one. Islam says „Go with your time“ So that mean for me its okay to trimm and style them. If someone is mobbing you for eyebrows for example you are allowed to trimm them if you want of course. I am sorry if you are going to find it rude but I just wanted to point out as a sister in islam, Islam doesn’t say to go with your time, (can you prove the source of this saying from Quran/sunnah/sahaba?) our time has zina, corruption, night clubs and so much evil even in Muslim countries. If we keep up with the time and throw away our modesty and likes (talking generally), it’s kind of hypocritical. Islam says to stick with the Quran and Sunnah. In Quran, it says like tons of time to follow the messenger and so we have that hadith and when i read that hadith almost 4 years ago , it was almost a full stop for my eyebrow routine. I now mostly follow the same routine as her and I have very bushy eyebrows like her, probably more as I have a condition called PCOS that causes excessive hair and i am myself a doctor Alhumdulilah and I know this condition doesn’t have a cure. So I just deal with it (except with facial hair which are halal to remove), at first i was a bit uncomfortable but now I flaunt them and Honestly now i feel nobody notices them, it’s only ourselves who are very critical.

Ay Peri I think as long as they're not pencil thin you're fine. I had the worst busy brows but never got pointed out by others to my face. But I'm sure people thought they looked ugly and needed to be plucked. Started doing them in 8th grade and not even pencil thin. Have always done the brows for myself and not others and that's also okay to make yourself happy. There's nothing bad about it. But doing everything that non-Muslims do is bad. Like botox, eyebrow and eyelash extensions, wigs, and microblading and what not. But doing eyebrows and staying in limit is not bad. Yea but I also won't put it as trying to fit in with others. It's what makes me happy and I know and Allah SWT knows I do it for myself and not even my family. At times if the upper lips need to get done but I need them to grow out more I don't care what my brother say to me. Because I will do them for me when I want to. I understand it's Haram to draw over your brows and change shape as all Americans are doing. I also fill in the brows but once again keeping the shape and the original thickness.

I’m a muslim but I’m not very religious but i like to do my research and according to what I’ve been taught a muslim girl can do her brows but she have to take approval from a mehram their father or husband
How come your brow bone area look that clean without plucking it😢 I'm so jealous rn. I plucked my eyebrows so much when i was a teenager because they're so bushy and thick. Plucking made them look so sharp and pretty, everyone would complement my brows. But as i'm 23 now, I've learnt a lot about my religion and i'm trying to improve myself. One of the hardest part of it, is to not pluck my brows. Idk if anyone can relate to this or not but its so hard for me to not pluck my brows. But i'm trying my best. May Allah give me enough patience and courage.

In the end, Islam is like that: you read the Quran and decide what to take from it. We are all tested based on our hearts, and God is all-knowing. To me removing hair from my eyebrows is not haram; nor halal. It's no bid deal 😊
Giulia Zoge there is a sahih hadeeth of comdemnation from prophet for women who pluck their eyebrows to looks good.
Munirah Ahmad Yes but again, a hadith even if proven is not the Holy Quran. I follow God and Only God's will, and what he gave me in his book, I follow. I read the ahadiths for knowledge, but I do not follow them as if they were given me by my Lord.
Giulia Zoge then how do you pray? you cant even pray if youre not following hadeeth. the instructions of praying are from hadeeth. im not saying quran is imperfect, but both are needed when want to implement islamic values in our lives. i hope u study more about your religion before reasoning something without preference from any of your religion sources.
Munirah Ahmad It is true, but I take only what strictly needed. And what obviously God has told me to take from other sources. I do not like following hadiths because you can never ever be 100% sure if it's right or wrong. Saying that you need ahadith is like saying that the Quran is not enough. You can even see what has happened to the ummah through their following of different ahadiths. Now, everyone can do whatever they want. I personally avoid ahadiths because I am scared of doing mistakes involuntarily and that's a choice. I want to face God in my day of judgement and being aware that even if I made mistakes, it was in my wrong interpretation of His Holy message to me and not because I followed ahadiths that I cannot personally prove... I don't know if you can understand me but I feel I am more sure of my faith this way.

My parents are from Turkey and I have really bushy eyebrows too, I think mine are even bushier (is that a word) than yours. And I am kind of happy that I have thick eyebrows so I don’t have to fill them in, but mine are not in shape and it’s really hard to shape them and to get them even. The hair is very thick and hard too and doesn’t look good at all. Yours are soft and in place but mine... I really don’t know what to do. I’ve gotten a lot of hate because of that and a lot of people already bullied me and I am soo insecure about it. That’s probably the biggest reason why I don’t think I’m pretty lol.

Here the thing is you can clean the stray hairs and the unibrow area but the haram thing is if you change the eyebrow shape completely or if you shave it off. So yes you can pluck the little hairs that surround your eyebrows and make sure to maintain your eyebrow shape as well. Also trimming them will help too as well! Hope this helped.
