- In this video, I try out an incredible hyper offense team featuring PHYSICAL Regieleki! Regieleki was one of the most popular picks in Sword/Shield VGC but it sees very little play in Scarlet/Violet VGC. This set utilizes Life Orb and Normal Tera with Explosion to get quick knock-outs. The team also features fun sets like Focus Sash Trick Room Flutter Mane, Throat Spray Helping Hand Farigiraf, Earth Power Regidrago, and more!

As someone who found doubles really daunting to get into, the beat by beat explanations and rationale really helped me wrap my head around the format. Always a joy to see content by ya!
I think an interesting change to this team could be Sableye. It gets the move Feint, meaning you'll be able to almost guarantee the Explosion if you think it can knock out a massive threat.
Itd need a lot of speed investment to be faster than regieleki, cause feint can't benefit from prankster, or you'd need to slow down eleki, or itd have to be choice scarf sableye, which really lowers its usefulness as a support mon. Also adding sableye means removing one of the other mons, and they all seemed really useful.
@@lordfangar5671 This. I also don't think Protect/Detect is Explosion's biggest counter -- it's ghost types, and in a format dominated by Fluttermane, that's not a problem a Feint Sableye can solve.
@@lordfangar5671 While I agree with you on the latter half, Feint has +2 priority, so outspeeding isn't the issue.
@@MrRussor Honestly, with how often Fluttermane teras, it's not as bad as it seems. I just noticed Cybertron constantly talking about Protect, so I figured it would be a way to get around it, especially as a ghost-type itself.
Now is Sableye worth getting rid of one of the Pokémon on that team? Likely not.
@atlat412 My initial reaction to this was "wait, really? I've never noticed that on the move before, was it changed recently?" Then i looked it up and got hit with a fucking mind blast. I have just learned that the dark type move I was thinking of is apparently called "feint attack" and is not the move that breaks protect, and there apparently exists a normal type move "feint" which is an attack, and only works if the target protects. I can't believe there's 2 moves named so similarly

Hey Aaron, I've been watching your videos all year and wanted to tell you how much I've learned! I took a few of the teams you show cased in months past all the way to master ball tier, but after learning from you I was just able to get into MB tier with my own team for the very first time! I've been a pokemon fan all my life, but I never got into competitive til SV and I never would have had the confidence without your content. Also, great job commentating at worlds!

QOTD: Since the Regis represent different eras of humanity (Ice Age, Stone Age, Iron Age, etc.) I'd design a Grass Regi based on the dawn of mankind and the garden of Eden named Regigenesis, maybe tie in a bit of biblical symbolism by giving it an Ability that gives it and partner Pokemon a Harvest effect to symbolize Eden's bounty, and then have that Ability change to Pressure after using a type of forbidden fruit signature move.

QOTD: Our new regis need a third complement like Registeel in the original trio. I’d love Regighost with stats of 150/50/75/80/75/150 and a ghost-type Transistor ability.
QOTD: The idea of a ground type Mud Golem Regi sounds pretty cool. Maybe give it an ability like Mold Breaker where any mon can get hit by (IT'S) Ground Moves regardless of type/ability. Maybe something quicksand related that lowers speed as far as moves go?

Good Bulk to make up for Bug type and that itll mostly likely get doubled up on, and it should be able to take a hit or two, plus survive the stray crit in neutral. Assault vest with even X scissor or megahorn would really check a lot of strong Dark and psychic mons, and sometimes you just really want to smack them hard physically.
Obvs, Leech life with assault vest, priority pollen puff is awesome, as power creep goes up it’ll be fun to see healing and support become a more valuable niche. Low special so no insane milage off Tail Glow (sorry!) and quiver dance would be insane. Sticky web might be too busted.
Just for fun, give it Heal Order, bug bite, and Rage powder. I’d love to see this one go nuts.
Dex 1: An ancient tomb discovered recently depicts a similar-looking Pokémon emerging from a large cocoon found deep underground. The rest of the story involves a plague of Lokix devouring crops.
Dex 2: It’s carapace is extremely hard. Regisect has been observed taking in weakened Bug-type Pokémon into its body to heal. However, sometimes the ones that go in don’t come out.

I did something similar to this a while ago. Explosion regieleki with tailwind support and last respect basculegion to sweep and benefit from having your own team KO'd. Great for Bo1
Regitox has always seemed like an option that was fairly consistent with the other types that regis were designed after.
Regis now are being designed with one 200 base stat, a signature move, and limited coverage. Attacking stats are all that's left for Regitox, so it would have 80hp, 100atk, 50def, 200spatk, 100spdef, 50 speed.
It's high special attack is compensated by its lack of access to sludge bomb. It either has to run sludge wave with a steel type partner or opt for a weaker move. It also has a reasonable atk stat in case it would be better for a team to have it fire off single target gunk shots. It's few coverage moves would be on the physical side.
It's signature move would be corrosive solution: a 60 base power, single-target, special poison type move that is super effective against steel types and lowers the opponents defense. 60 base power may seem weak, but modest life orb still can OHKO Steel types with 80 base spdef or less (no investment). Steel types would still be good into it, if played around well, but defensive counterplay would focus more on the many resistances to poison type moves.

Game 4 coach is a genius lol that's me. I got overconfident believing it would be SP Regieleki since if so my Fluttermane would survive although I was very stupid using the tera on turn 1 and I think that having reserved the tera for urshifu probably would have been enough to win the fight, it was an incredible honor to coincide with one of the best players from USA. We will face each other again in great fight!🤜🏻🤛🏻

I've been running Explosion Eleki since it's release.
I tried to make a similar team with Chien-Pao to potentially get the Sword of Ruin boost on Explosion but I think having to use Protect or your Ghost Tera to not lose your own Chien-Pao was too gimmicky, cool to see a similar team pop up!

Unlike Drago and Eleki, which lean more into having a very limited elemental movepool, Regiwind would have access to a lot of coverage with wind-based moves, existing ones like Blizzard and Heat Wave, but even more added with stronger spread versions of Leaf Tornado, Fairy Wind, Ominous Wind etc.

QOTD: all the Regis have a counterpart except for registeel. Eleki and Drago both have 200 of a stat. Ice and Rock have 200 of the opposite defensive stat. But registeel only has 150 of both defensive stats. Which makes me think there needs to be a regi with 150 of each attacking stat (no idea how balanced that would or wouldn’t be). I think Regifight or Regifire would be a good opposite for registeel, I think. 150 attack, 150 special attack. Would be interesting. Even regiground would be fun for this stat spread

QOTD: I would make a water Regi with 200 base special attack but with 50 base speed and HP. The ability I think would be good is one called Tidal swirl which lowers the speed stat like the ruinous legends abilty

in the current format Azelf has the best attack stat with explosion and is still decently fast. normal tera choice band azelf has the best ohko value for sneaky explosion sets

Grass type regi where it has the ability similar to the move forest's curse. i.e., when hit by contact moves, the opponent becomes grass type
If I made new Regis, I would stick with the whole “age” theme (ie ice, stone, iron, middle, etc).
I would make 2 Regis, one would be based on the Atomic age, the poison type Regiatom, with a 200 attack stat and the ability “Fallout” which would remove 1/16 of the Hp of every Pokémon on the field aside from Regiatom itself. It’s body would be shaped like Fat man with the dots being in the shape of the radiation symbol.
Additionally based on the space age would be Regicosmos, a psychic type with a 200 Special attack stat and the ability levitate. It’s body would be a translucent rocket ship with its 7 dots running up the length of its body not only going up like a rocket, but like the 7 chakras (b/c psychic type).
Regighoul with a giant skull in the middle as it’s body and then some spoopie purple flames for a ghost type Regi
