He gives appraisals for a resell standpoint, not as a collector obviously… Just like a card shop, they give 40-MAYBE 70% of the value. People are only urged to sell if the price might drop or they need the cash asap. This is because a collector paying the 90-100% of the value takes time… Come on dude. Not a hard concept to figure out.
Having worked in the sports memorabilia auction world, I’d say Steve’s appraisal was pretty accurate. With the exception of Payton and McMahon you can get these autographs pretty easily and for low prices at that. You’re really just paying for the presentation.

That's not your job though Steve you're supposed to tell them what something is worth at retail. I saw another episode where he literally said he lowballs to leave room for them to make a profit. But that's not supposed to be what he does. And he just keeps doing it. It's always like he's lying so hard when he gives figures that you can see sweat bead out of his forehead.
