I made the arm for the disc tool (1:28) and Metabo didn't do anything about it. The originals are made for CIBO and they deliver them to metabo with their brand on it. The're made in Izegem, Belgium (my previous employer). I'm still glad that something I (and only I) made goes around the world to help people out :). Also all the internal parts (except belt) are made in the same factory. The housing is milled out of a solid piece aluminium and coated afterwards.
Sofia.... you would be come ill stepping into my work shop!! Seeing your shop, the way EVERYTHING has a place!! IVE LOST MORE THAN 2000 hours of my life looking for shit!! You are an inspiration!! I seriously own 8/9 Greenlee Christmas trees (stepbit/unibit) because I'll buy another vs look through my shit
nice demo but you left out the equipment prices. There is over $3000 in just electronics plus a few hundred more in disks. $3500+ sounds a bit high for most situations. Don't get me wrong the tools are nice but they are priced a bit out of reach for smaller welding operations.
Nice demo, I really like my Metabo grinders, More expensive than other brands, but worth it to me. I do have a broken Metabo Jigsaw. Where is the USA service center?
Those 150mm fleece discs cost over £30 each, how long do they last? Have you used the newer 125mm tan coloured fleece discs? The hole in the black disc is bigger, 25mm vs 22mm. Is the back nut on the fillet weld grinder normal?
The fleece compact grinding discs (VKS) last 20 - 30 hours, depending on application. Hole is 1" = 25,4 mm. Which "tan coloured" fleece discs do you mean? The video was made in 2010. In the meantime there are plenty of new accessories in the market available. I don`t understand what you mean with "back nut". Maybe you take a photo and send it by mail to hjmarzinzik@metabo.de
sofia20061 these are the tan discs, they are 125mm by 22mm hole. www.metabo.co.uk/Product-catalogue-accessories-handheld-powertools.23956+M541d44627bc.0.html The grinder has 2 nuts, the first one has a shoulder to centralise the disc, I assume the shoulder on this machine is 1" so the tan discs would not fit.
"Tan discs" 626482000 and 626483000: Max. working speed 80 m/s = max. permitted speed 10.000 RPM = can be used on regular grinders. Discs have been designed for flat head grinders, especially WEVF 10-125 Quick Inox because recommended speed on Inox is 3.000 RPM. Cannot be used on filled weld grinders because hole is 22,23 mm.
Nice to hear that Norton sells it`s products 10x cheaper. I haven`t seen such prices in any country in the world. Did you really check out Metabo prices in your country? You should do and you will be surprised.
$2,300 for a Metabo Magnetic Core Drill vs $1,300 for a Milwaukee. The Milwaukee has better specs, is built better, and is cheaper than Metabo garbage. At my shop we bought one Metabo product for polishing. used it once, think it's sitting in the corner gathering dust because it just wasn't as good as anything else we had.
***** Sorry for you but Norton is the world leader in abrasives, yes I prefer the Norton products it's less expensive, good quality sorry but I am not a commercial at metabo
We do not offer magnetic core drills for polishing. Does Milwaukee do? Friendly speaking Metabo does not produce "garbage". The company exists since 1924 an Metabo sells several thousand tools a day in more than 140 countries around the world.

meh, my metabo blew up after 8 months of medium-hard use, there was no grease in the gearbox when I pulled it apart, not to mention disgusting machine marks all over the gears...wouldn't recommend
Bummer! I still have an "all green" Metabo 6" that's superb, but the company changed their design and the only reason that ever happens is to cut production costs. I maintained a fleet of Metabo, DeWalt, Milwaukee and Makita grinders and I buy by model instead of brand. The green/black Metabo 6" and similar are not "old Metabo" quality and I don't care who contends otherwise. I do all my own repairs and I have ample electrical, machining and mechanical background. Makita make consistently good tools. Most angle grinders are now made in China, but quality control is a CHOICE and so is design. BTW Walter make some amazing (and expensive) abrasives which like 3M products are worth the money.
Those are the two dumbest looking machines Ive seen in 20+ yrs working in the industry. And if you can't figure out how to do 6G welds, you shure as hell not gonna improve them with said machines.

Man after seeing all that work to make that look nice I think I would just buy a tube bender and then clean that up
Nice finishing tools
Excellent machinery!
Ur one hell of a grinder I'll give u that.
A grinder but have you seen the welds
A grinder and paint can make a welder what he ain't xD
po0p9chris jones
NO, he can't. He can make it LOOK good, but if the weldor is a dipshit, the end piece ain't gonna hold up.

Backstand on a polishing spindle will do the job faster, better and at lower cost.

YEAH JUST GRIND IT
does a metabo stands for a metabolism?
Metabo is a German Company, founded 1924. Metabo stands for Metall-Bohrer = metal drill, a hand-driven drill.
hehe thanks for the info, for a moment I was dreaming of enzyme based abrasives and adenosine triphosphate powered brushless motors.

Only Metabo's I have owned failed very quickly. They are rubbish compared to Makita. Have got one Makita ten years old and still works perfectly.
