I absolutely love Bittersweet! Wonwoo and Mingyu's voices fit together so well. Even if you don't react to them, you really need to watch Minghao's dance videos. He has three or four of them. The way he moves is just incredible.

It introduced me to Wonwoo's harmonies and I was glad we got to hear him without a vocal team member around so HE got to harmonize and we could hear him. On a different note: You can tell me a million times otherwise: Mingyu, Wonwoo, and Woozi can tell me a million times; but I will forever see this song as "They chose each other"!!!! They gave the girl up for each other!!!
There is a section of Carats that appreciate the open interpretation of Bittersweet as it can apply to friends falling for the same girl, unrequited love between 1 male for his friend who feels left out when they get into a relationship with a girl, or male friends who realize they want a relationship together. That accessibility within the video allows it to fit so many personal feelings for Carats who may feel unseen by allowing them the freedom to identify. The danger is when a person ascribes their interpretation to the actual people (Wonwoo, Mingyu, and the guest LeeHi). I adore this video for it's ability to convey Bittersweet in all the imagery and the song tone blending together to form a total mood. It's one of my favorite unit songs.

Mingyu and Wonwoo, up to this day, doesn't want to explain what the plot of bittersweet is and they want to keep it along the lines of "it's up to your imagination." They can explicitly tell the plot of their other mvs but when it comes to bittersweet, they don't want to tell us what it is. Lord, I miss the time that this mv released, everyone was in chaos and it went under even more chaos when mingyu and wonwoo denied that it was about both of them being in love with the girl. An interviewer once asked them if it was about two boys being in love with the same girl and mingyu rolled his eyes at the question 😂

This song was released when they were on the verge of releasing their album "Your Choice" which has as TT "Ready To Love" which has as its theme the different manifestations of love. The song has different points to be interpreted and I love and admire that all of them are valid because any expression of love is legitimate. Whatever relationship Mingyu, Wonwoo and the girl had leads to the fact that the guys, for whatever reason, decided to choose each other out of love, and that love is so strong that you can interpret what suits you best: friends or lovers. For me Bittersweet looks completely like a love triangle with two best friends falling for the same person. A lot of people have different theories on it. There are a few hints that point out the affections of both of them for the girl while only one of them gets them reciprocated (?), the shot of the girl while the line 'one you and two moons' plays or the fact that Wonwoo and the girl stand side by side after running away and Mingyu gets left behind looking at the girl, plus the convenience store scene where Wonwoo and the girl share earphones but Mingyu sits alone, note how he sits on the left, where Wonwoo was sitting and the right side is empty while he gazes over there. There's even a shot where wonu gives the hat (worn by the girl) to Mingyu but he returns it back hinting that maybe Wonu knows about Gyu's feelings and offers him a chance but Gyu doesn't take it. The ending also makes me feel like it was Mingyu's way of showing how he's okay even if the other two get together and that friendship matters to him more. When Seventeen reacted to the mv, DK asked them about the sharing of earphones and Mingyu said that there was a shot of him wearing a single one which was cut off (you should watch SVT's reaction, soo fun). Throughout the promos, both M and W kept stressing on the fact that the mv is open for interpretation, I believe the MV could have been straightforward but based on Mingyu's answers it seems that the video was edited this certain way to keep the story ambiguous for 1. People coming up with theories making it enjoyable and 2. Cashing in on MinWon which is a really popular ship. Nonetheless, the song is amazing and so is the MV. They sound and look gorgeous. LeeHi sounds beautiful. Funfact because I blabbered a lot above : I watched a variety of stuff as a baby carat because of Wonu including this MV, not really caring about Mingyu.18:07 altered the trajectory of my life.

hii bri and tori !! with a genuine heart i wanted to suggest a new group you guys an add to your channel ! since you guys post videos about seventeen often, this group would be a great addition...im talking about TWS, they debuted JUST in january 2024! not that long ago, and just recently made their first comeback...you guys probably would've heard their debut song somewhere or the other since it got REALLY big. and also they are seventeens FIRST junior boy group that debuted in pledis, its a big deal (and thats why alot of carats support them as well). seventeen members really care for tws and they even introduced the guys at their own concert :( i feel like you guys would like their songs and bsides, and plus their content, they are really taking the humor from seventeen LMAO, they are super cute and have alot to offer already and its not even been that long. but PLEASEE think about it, all carats and sais, (tws fandom name is 42 OR sai!!) will really appreciate it, since we dont have much people reacting to their bsides or separate content, THANK YOUU AGAIN !!
I love "bittersweet" dearly. the story is left to interpretation. so there is no correct theory or interpretation of this story. I like to think that all three of them like each other and are a happy trouple after the mv ends:)
I had initially thought that ‘Bittersweet’ was about 2 best friends finding a love interest in the same girl, but in the end chose their friendship over love. The “Bros before Hoes” troupe of you will LMAO. But after watching the MV for a multitude of times I have come up with the theory that Wonwoo is chasing the girl while Mingyu is actually chasing Wonwoo. In the running scene, I think the directors purposely made them run in that specific order to further hint at the love triangle. Another instance is at the ending rain scene, you can see Mingyu taking the initiative of walking out into the rain, to then inviting Wonwoo to walk out aswell. You can kind of depict the story of the MV in multiple ways and they have even said themselves that the MV is up for everyone’s interpretation in the SVT group reaction video so maybe I’m not too far off idk LOL. Maybe i’m just too much of a Minwon/Meanie stan 😭😂 fyi for that Special Video, they tried sooo hard not to laugh the whole time LMAO But aaaah Side By Side and Bittersweet are probably my favorite SVT solo/duo stuff. For me Bittersweet looks completely like a love triangle with two best friends falling for the same person. A lot of people have different theories on it. There are a few hints that point out the affections of both of them for the girl while only one of them gets them reciprocated (?), the shot of the girl while the line 'one you and two moons' plays or the fact that Wonwoo and the girl stand side by side after running away and Mingyu gets left behind looking at the girl, plus the convenience store scene where Wonwoo and the girl share earphones but Mingyu sits alone, note how he sits on the left, where Wonwoo was sitting and the right side is empty while he gazes over there. There's even a shot where wonu gives the hat (worn by the girl) to Mingyu but he returns it back hinting that maybe Wonu knows about Gyu's feelings and offers him a chance but Gyu doesn't take it. The ending also makes me feel like it was Mingyu's way of showing how he's okay even if the other two get together and that friendship matters to him more. When Seventeen reacted to the mv, DK asked them about the sharing of earphones and Mingyu said that there was a shot of him wearing a single one which was cut off (you should watch SVT's reaction, soo fun). Throughout the promos, both M and W kept stressing on the fact that the mv is open for interpretation, I believe the MV could have been straightforward but based on Mingyu's answers it seems that the video was edited this certain way to keep the story ambiguous for 1. People coming up with theories making it enjoyable and 2. Cashing in on MinWon which is a really popular ship.
Nonetheless, the song is amazing and so is the MV. They sound and look gorgeous. LeeHi sounds beautiful.
Funfact because I blabbered a lot above : I watched a variety of stuff as a baby carat because of Wonu including this MV, not really caring about Mingyu.18:07 altered the trajectory of my life.

I had initially thought that ‘Bittersweet’ was about 2 best friends finding a love interest in the same girl, but in the end chose their friendship over love. The “Bros before Hoes” troupe of you will LMAO. But after watching the MV for a multitude of times I have come up with the theory that Wonwoo is chasing the girl while Mingyu is actually chasing Wonwoo. In the running scene, I think the directors purposely made them run in that specific order to further hint at the love triangle. Another instance is at the ending rain scene, you can see Mingyu taking the initiative of walking out into the rain, to then inviting Wonwoo to walk out aswell. You can kind of depict the story of the MV in multiple ways and they have even said themselves that the MV is up for everyone’s interpretation in the SVT group reaction video so maybe I’m not too far off idk LOL. Maybe i’m just too much of a Minwon/Meanie stan 😭😂 fyi for that Special Video, they tried sooo hard not to laugh the whole time LMAO
But aaaah Side By Side and Bittersweet are probably my favorite SVT solo/duo stuff. I’m glad you both liked them too!
