I've heard that these two are actually good friends, so it's interesting to see the comments saying that they have a lack of chemistry in this interview. I do think that they're just tired from the press, though.

She isn't her queen. I think that Elisebeth is stronger than mary as person. She was 45 years queen and that's a lot. Mary wanted to have all but Eslisebeth knowed it better. At this time a woman was not aloud to be more than a wife and mother. So because eslisebeth stayed unmarried, she didn't lose her crown. By the way Mary has tried to kill Elisebeth behind her back more than once. And she helped her and called her a sister. The true queen is Elisebeth! She had a right of england, but Elisebeth had more. Sorry, but this is shit.
@@gaveyoucookie9845 Yeah.....Elizabeth by all accounts controlled the big show. Quite an impressive leader. A bit less tyrannical and smarter to allow an English renaissance.

Elizabeth and Mary meeting has been portrayed in screen before. In the 1970s film with Vanessa Redgrave and Glenda Jackson. It was called Mary, queen of Scots. In that film they have at least 2 secret meetings.
Really good movie, this state of thought still exists with women in power surrounded by men relevant story for all generations actors did a perfect job couldn’t be better
I saw the movie yesterday....when I saw Saoirse as Mary, with a red hair, I was like: "wow, they killed it!!! She was the best choice to play the queen of Scots!!!" This role really suited her....if you have seen portraits of Mary, then U will realize the similiarity 😊
for those of you saying "if it's not accurate, why do it?" lol if you thought WB's "Reign" was any where NEAR historically accurate you better find some history books and study and think again!
Them meeting was done in1971 Mary Queen of Scots with Glenda Jackson. She met Mary (who was asking for assylum in England from her half Brother who had just stolen her baby and was after her head for killing her husband) at the border of Scotland and England. She also confronted Mary, played by Vanessa Redgrave, and told her to confess and she'd stay in the Tower and not be beheaded. So, even though it didn't actually happen, it has been depicted in the past. www.imdb.com/title/tt0067402/
The movie was great but they should of had mary queen of scots have a French accent since she lived in France until she was 18. She only moved back to Scotland after the death of her first husband. And she also preferred the French way. Which is why she also wrote her name the French way instead of the Scottish way. But it was still a great movie. And both actresses nailed both characters.
“Reign” had a lot of good knowledge of the story of Mary. This Movie will be good too, but I can’t wait to compare the history (Ik most of the story plot in Reign is about Mary and this movie is about both sides)
I still can’t get over how unfairly Soairse was treated after this film! As an Australian myself, I disagree! Her Aussie accent is still there. She may use American slangs/nuances in other interviews but she still has an Aussie accent
I know what you mean but to be fair it's not just a "middle age" look on both. They gave Margot that whole late Queen Elizabeth makeover with white powder make up, red lipstick, that crazy red hair and way too light eyebrows but Saoirse had a more natural look throughout with clean skin and being a red head is natural to her.
