Wow Phabeni saying hi to the big Ellie’s! That was such a precious moment when he climbed the wall to get closer to Limpopo. Khanyisa didn’t seem too impressed to spend time with him. That as they passed they took a bit of a moment to suss this lil ellie out. Good to see Spotty again too. Happy New Year Adine and your wonderful carers, May it be a good year! ❤
I can barely remember when Khanyisa was a small as Phabeni is now but she was once and was also on her own for a bit as she got stronger from the dedicated care of all of the HERD staff. Happy New Year little Phabeni and all who care for him! When he climbed onto the wall to look at Limpopo I thought my heart would burst from joy. He’s definitely happy and he feels safe and loved. Watching him join the herd will be so much fun for all of us, but life-giving for him. May he be happy all of his days.
He's so confident! 🤗💙 The way he climbed up on the wall to see Limpopo, as if he was saying "Hello, who are you?". Nice to see little Spotty out with his friends too. And another beautiful blanket for Phabeni. Happy New Year everyone 🎉
Finally!!! Phabeni is curious about the herd! He seemed a bit curious before but still a bit fearful. How wonderful to see! I wonder if he thinks his Mum might be among them!🥺 I think Bubi and Tokwe are going to battle it out to be his adoptive mother. Go lil Phabeni! Many, many of us are sending you health and happiness vibes from around the world. ❤❤❤
Oh bless him, that little trunk reaching through the fence..too adorable. Faithful Lammie and the new sheep on the block Spotty also featuring. Happy New Year to everyone
What a joyous scene. Trunks working overtime....Phabeni seems to say, "where'd everyone go." Seeing Khanyisa next to him shows just how tiny he is and she was! Just amazing how she has grown. Spotty sure does stick close to Lammie 🥰 The Three Amigos!
SOoooooooo Beautiful to witness Phabeni coming out of his fear-shell to interact with the Herd ❤ This bought tears of happiness. Go Little Phabeni !! Thank you to all at Herd a miravulous recovery in progress 🙏🕉🌻💜🌈
@evonwilliams7502 I thought that too when Phabeni reached his teeny trunk out and Khanyisa made the visual representation of:"Hmph! You think because you have a fancy blanket, you can steal Adine's love??😤🤭
Ah, Darling FabPhab DEFINITELY wanted to get closer to Limpopo!! He is not just emerging from his shell but displaying genuine interest in the Herd. We have Jabu to thank for this. Bless you Jabulani. You know exactly what you're doing 💙🐘🩵🐘🙏
Happy New Year to all the wonderful people at HERD. Do you think Phabeni and Limpopo have made a ❤ connection. He seems to be coming out of his protective shell meeting with the herd. I can't wait till he can go on the treks with his 'family'. ❤❤❤❤😊
That was wonderful to see little Phabeni climbing up to get closer to Limpopo. I think it shows his confidence building, I hope it continues for him. I don’t think he is as confident as Khanisya when she was little. Go little guy ❤️🐘❤️🐘
I love that Limpodo went to the other part of the fence and cute little Phabeni ran up the side, gets up on the edge to be in front of her, put his trunk out to smell her. I think he knows her scent and recognizes Limpodo from the submissive laydown she performed last week.
Yes definitely. if he keeps going to Limpopo 1st over the next phase I think she's going to be his main mamma that little dance show she did the other day I think stole his little heart ❤😊
I think it should be allowed for Limpopo to spend some time close to Phabeni cause it would be great for him to have her as his adopted mommy for sure. I don’t think she should be kept away from him cause he sure was interested in her and her in him too. She wasn’t gonna do anything to hurt him either and I didn’t like it when he was told or she was told by the Carers to move away. Very sad cause he was quite interested in her.🥺🤔🐘🐘🥰🙏
@@susanmorris5520I sounded to me like it was Phabeni that was called away by a man’s voice which surprised me considering how Adine had been trying to get Phabeni to come to the elephants in previous videos. Maybe the climbing was the problem. All the elephants were then called away except Khanyisa but she wasn’t interested in Phabeni or afraid of him. It must have been difficult for him and quite different to what happened with Khanyisa’s meetings at the fence with the big elephants.
The beginning of this video was so touching when the Herd was visiting Phabeni and then when Limpopo was at the fence and Phabeni went there to put his feet up onto the step to say hello and Limpopo was wanting to see him too it seemed that Limpopo was being told or Phabeni to move away but I feel that they both wanted to get to know each other and it kinda broke my heart heart cause how are the older elephants suppose to get used to this little guy and he with them if you don’t let them at least touch trunks if the adults want to do that? It was beautiful but it was sad in my eyes. Khanysia is so cute too and she seemed to not want anything to do with him and she is still the kind of girl who likes to go do her own thing too.😂😂🐘❤️. But, they all look wonderful and it’s great that you finally got good rain too and the fairly new addition to the family Spotty is just so cute and seems to be quite happy too. God bless to Phabeni and the elephant Herd along with Spotty and Lammie too. Please let the elephants get to know Phabeni more instead of making him move away from them or them away from him? This will be his family eventually just like they became Khanysia’s wonderful family. Sue M. Florida,USA ❤️🙏🥰🐘🌟👏🏻👏🏻🥺🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🤔❌⭕️
That's exactly what I thought too. Especially after the last video where she lay down on the floor after seeing him, like she was inviting him to play.
How absolutely heartwarming to see him so interested in and eager to meet the rest of the herd! ❤ What a lovely video to start the new year. Best wishes to everyone at HERD!
This is such a big breakthrough. Phabeni bring very curious, reaching out voluntarily and wanting to sniff. This is beautiful!! All the previous ones he was asked to come closer but here you can see him wanting to reach out and sniff. This is so amazing. Thank you Adine and carers for all your sacrifices and hard work. 🙏 ❤️
@jknetsYT I agree. Phabeni has to learn and Feel the love and trust. Can never force it. Phabeni has a mind of his own and will decide when it's time for the next step forward. So sweet. 💞
This is the best thing to see for a Happy New Year, Phabeni is more confident not shying away at all from the Herd, limpopo got the Seal of approval from our lil One, Khanysia does not look so small in proportion to lil Phabeni, uplifting and emotive. Thank you Herd for this video of utter love, love to Lammie and Spotty too. Love to our Elephant Family one and all 💚🩵💙
One day, Phaebini, you will be walking with the big kids. Made me say "aaawww" when they had left, and he was by himself along the fence ,except for Miss Khanysia. I sure hope she takes a liking to him. It's good to see Lammie and Spotty, who is growing. Beautiful New Years rain. What a blessing. 🐘🐑❤️🎉🎆
Phabeni eyes have changed he looks at everywhere ! he looks at each member of the herd He doesn’t look at only the ground like before today ! and he walks alone all along the wall and the fence ! he wants to be with the herd ! can’t wait 💕💕🐘
So sweet. Such a healthy will in this boy, Phabeni. Maybe that is why he is already so good with his trunk. So loved and cared for in his baby blanket. Looking forward to his growing adventures. 🥰
So beautiful to see Phabeni reaching out to Limpopo! I'm so happy -- and even moved-- to see him show an active interest in the herd! And vice versa. This is real progress. Thank you for sharing this clip! And congratulations on the rain!!!🐘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a brave little guy he is. Did he really toutch Limpopo trunk to trunk? Best christmas gift ever to see he showed so much curiousity, and currage. I loved, loved this video.
Awww that was the sweetest thing ever!! Phabeni climbing up on the wall or fence to get close to Limpopo! Limpopo was sweet to him right back!! ❤ I am so happy for this move from Phabeni. He's a little Braveheart! ❤❤❤❤❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
This was a wonderful encounter with Phabeni and Limpopo and the rest of the HERD. Little by little, Phabeni is gaining confidence and trust. Seeing the elephants like this was a very excellent idea. Loved it when Meisiekind got a fright from Seuntjie and quickly grabbed some grub for herself. Tokwe and Lundi know exactly what they're doing by staying back. I really do believe in my heart that they are commiserating on the whole thing!
Cute Phabeni, I wonder when he saw Limpopo was he thinking "are you my mother?" Sweet Phabeni climbed up to see if he could reach her. Poor thing. He really misses his mum. When the Herd walked away to graze for the day and Phabeni was at the fence he must have wondered if they were leaving him behind. I can't wait for Phabeni to progress to the next stage. I want to see who will be his allo-mother and nanny.❤🐘❤
I am so happy and watched again and again Little Phabeni and the whole herd greeting 'Hello!'. Princess K is the beautiful Princess😍❤️❤️❤️❤️. How beautiful it is raining there!😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Amazing video, little Phabeni is now curious about the HERD members. I loved seeing the reaction from the elephants and now see how tiny Phabeni is in relationship to the other HERD members. Darling little boy now with all the love and attention you've provided he is coming out of his shell and assimilating to his new environment. God Bless to all the dedicated and wonderful carers as well as Adine! I wonder if Limpopo with be Phabeni's new momma. May you all have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Sending prayers, hugs and love to you all!
Happy New Year to the herd and all involved with caring for the elephants and giving them their best life! The little guy is so adorable and when he climbed the wall to see Limpopo, it was such a beautiful moment!
When Limpopo had that moment recently, in which she lay down near the fence in her excitement of seeing and smelling Phabeni, it appears that action truly had an impact on both elephants. Adine had mentioned at least once that she was considering Limpopo for a "mother figure" for Phabeni. That decision may have already been made between the two main participants!😊 What a beautiful and stunning way to start the New Year. Phabeni getting one or two front feet on the wall by fence to get a bit closer to Limpopo just had my heart swelling and beating faster with joy!❤ I believe i can speak for other subscribers when i say i am not the only one. That had to be such a special few seconds for the carers and Adine. Trust and Love are GRAND! 🎉🐘🐑🍼💞🕊😃🇺🇲🦋
I believe you are right. When Limpopo layed down, she was saying something by doing that, none of the other elephants did that. I found that to be precious what she did, rolling on her side and lifting her legs~ ❤.

As a South African, these videos warm my heart. I was always watching the Sheldrick videos from Kenya and wondering why the same was not done in South Africa. Thank you Herd for doing such a wonderful job. A big shout out to the lady who found and protected Phabeni. I I visited the Kruger National Park in 1996 and the whole experince of seeing the elephants and rhinos left me speechless. It was a day tour and unfortunately we didn't see any lions, just one leopard resting on a tree.

Happy New Year everyone! ✨That moment where Phabeni climbs the wall to say hello to Limpopo is just so precious.🥰 He seems so much more confident. What lovely interactions all round. And Khanyisa is sooo big next to Phabeni - I almost didn't recognize her! This might sound ridiculously obvious - but seeing the carers next to the elephants as they walk, it never ceases to amaze me how big they are. What elegant, beautiful giants! Lovely to see Phabeni hanging out with Lammie and Spotty in the rain - so peaceful. Lammie has a look of eternal wisdom and patience on her face .. beautiful moments. ☺🐘🐘🐑🐑

Oh, how sweet that lil Phabeni is starting to reach out to the herd!!!! And how big Khanyisa is now!! To think she use to be Phabeni's size!!! And Spotty is so cute! 🥰🥰
Beyond beautiful way to reign in the new year!! Limpopo is smitten with baby Phabeni!! The interaction baby beni showed us all by climbing the wall to be closer to Limpopo shows such courage and inquisitive excitement to meet his soon to be new family!! It just doesnt get any better than this huge step by our precious baby bull!!! Kumbura was enthralled by him and if not being pushed to leave....i think would have loved much more interaction! What surprised me was Setombe giving him several trunk "High fives"!!! Klasserie always playful and kind to the babies also took such interest in him lke her mama. All this happening without any carers to coax him...He made this huge step himself!! Im so deeply moved by his courageous excitement!! Was worried about Spotty...not seeing him so long...but in the end Phabeni was next to him smelling his tail...and being so gentle with him! I am on cloud nine!! I think there may be a jealousy issue with Khanyisa..but think it will be snuffed out with the help of her allo mothers. I couldnt be happier for this precious little one!! Prayers Answered!!! Bless you Herd for giving us what we all prayed for!! Without Adine and the carers...this joy we all hold.. would not be possible!!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎
Happy New Year Adine, Carers & all the people that watch this channel! Cuteness overload with Phabeni, Lammie & little Spotty. Love seeing sweet interactions between Phabeni & his soon to be permanent family too. ❤
I agree with other comments of how wonderful it is to see Phabeni reaching out with his trunk. He was doing the same as the elephants walked by, but none reached out to him. I thought he looked sad like Dumbo when Dumbo was rejected in rhe movie. I appreciate all is a process that you who care for him are aiming for. Please give him a hug from me/us. Thank you!😊
This is exactly what baby Phabeni needs, perhaps his decline in weight was due to depression? The love of the herd will give him the drive to live, eat & get stronger. He was particularly drawn to Limpopo. They had a ❤moment. So wonderful ❤❤❤❤

Cara Alison hai detto giusto, ti Auguro uno stupendo Anno Nuovo per te ,per tutta l'umanità per tutti gli animali.Ciao 🤗😊🫠
@@vivianaiacomelli3080 Happy New Year to you and your family too 🤗
He's so confident and outgoing now, such a contrast to when he arrived!
Happy New Year to you and all who read this. 🎉
@@francescaa8331Wishing you a beautiful 2024 full of everything that makes you happy.❤🎉
@@susanfeneley thank you so much! You too.
It was sweet to see Phabeni climb up to get closer to Limpopo. Phabeni needs time with the other elephants to get some trunk hugs
Body wide goosebumps when he got up on the wall to touch trunks. Simply awesome! Aloha and Happy New Year to all of you!
Did anyone else tear up ?😢 Watching that little trunk reach out....♥️
@mizrahichick7392 Oh my heavens, YES!
@@susanfeneley LOL, thank you ! I thought maybe I AM Just " too sensitive ".
Phabeni is getting bolder ❤❤🐘🐘
Oh bless him, that little trunk reaching through the fence..too adorable. Faithful Lammie and the new sheep on the block Spotty also featuring. Happy New Year to everyone
Happy New Year Phabeni Khanyisa and all the Ellies!
What a beautiful sight to see!!
Phabeni is growing and all the ellies came to visit❤❤❤❤
What a joyous scene. Trunks working overtime....Phabeni seems to say, "where'd everyone go." Seeing Khanyisa next to him shows just how tiny he is and she was! Just amazing how she has grown. Spotty sure does stick close to Lammie 🥰 The Three Amigos!
@sharonj.1240 The Three Amigos! Perfect!!😉
SOoooooooo Beautiful to witness Phabeni coming out of his fear-shell to interact with the Herd ❤ This bought tears of happiness. Go Little Phabeni !! Thank you to all at Herd a miravulous recovery in progress 🙏🕉🌻💜🌈
It's funny how lil Khanyisa looks like a giant now next to Phabeni💚
So good to see little Phabeni trying to get closer to Limpopo!❤❤❤❤❤
Finally, Phabeni is reaching out with little fear. Brings tears to my eyes. Happy New Year to everyone and every Ellie.
Yes so true but I think that Khanyisa is going to be a little jealous😊😅🎉😂❤
@evonwilliams7502 I thought that too when Phabeni reached his teeny trunk out and Khanyisa made the visual representation of:"Hmph! You think because you have a fancy blanket, you can steal Adine's love??😤🤭
Ah, Darling FabPhab DEFINITELY wanted to get closer to Limpopo!! He is not just emerging from his shell but displaying genuine interest in the Herd. We have Jabu to thank for this. Bless you Jabulani. You know exactly what you're doing 💙🐘🩵🐘🙏
Perfetto pensiero.
Verissimo!
Phabeni looks so small in front of them even khanisya😃
Happy New Year to all the wonderful people at HERD. Do you think Phabeni and Limpopo have made a ❤ connection. He seems to be coming out of his protective shell meeting with the herd. I can't wait till he can go on the treks with his 'family'. ❤❤❤❤😊
These gorgeous creatures are just a joy to watch!
This video made me so happy!
Lo penso anch'io!
Pha looks so much better and what a beautiful sight when he reaches out his little trunk to greet the Herd that will be his family. I loved it.😢☺️🥰🐘
The beginning of this video was so touching when the Herd was visiting Phabeni and then when Limpopo was at the fence and Phabeni went there to put his feet up onto the step to say hello and Limpopo was wanting to see him too it seemed that Limpopo was being told or Phabeni to move away but I feel that they both wanted to get to know each other and it kinda broke my heart heart cause how are the older elephants suppose to get used to this little guy and he with them if you don’t let them at least touch trunks if the adults want to do that?
It looks like like he chose Limpopo to be his mama ❤
Exactly my thoughts.
He seems to be pretty curious about her.
That's exactly what I thought too. Especially after the last video where she lay down on the floor after seeing him, like she was inviting him to play.
I agree 😊
How absolutely heartwarming to see him so interested in and eager to meet the rest of the herd! ❤
What a lovely video to start the new year.
So sweet. 💞
Happy New Year to all the carers and ellies Thanks!
Thank you very much for your kind donation.
🐘🐑❤️🎉🎆
HAPPY NEW YEAR, PHABENI! WISHING YOU ♥️, good health, long life and happiness always!
Go, Phabeni! We’re all rooting for you!!😊
Phabeni eyes have changed he looks at everywhere ! he looks at each member of the herd He doesn’t look at only the ground like before today ! and he walks alone all along the wall and the fence ! he wants to be with the herd ! can’t wait 💕💕🐘
My New Year celebration is complete! 🥂🫶💋
I hope limpopo is his "mommy"
Happy New Year to the herd and all involved with caring for the elephants and giving them their best life! The little guy is so adorable and when he climbed the wall to see Limpopo, it was such a beautiful moment!
Precious Phabeni! ♥️
Cara Susan, intanto Buon Anno e penso che tu abbia proprio ragione su Limpopo mother.😊😉

I've double checked it, so hope it's correct. Might want to try just title first.
As a South African, these videos warm my heart. I was always watching the Sheldrick videos from Kenya and wondering why the same was not done in South Africa. Thank you Herd for doing such a wonderful job. A big shout out to the lady who found and protected Phabeni. I
I visited the Kruger National Park in 1996 and the whole experince of seeing the elephants and rhinos left me speechless. It was a day tour and unfortunately we didn't see any lions, just one leopard resting on a tree.
@kedibonemahasane6162 Welcome to HERD; you will never regret subscribing. This wonderful organization brings such knowledge and light to us all. They're also greatly involved with saving our precious planet and helping their local communities/schools. Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to you wonderful carers and beautiful animals! It's great to see the bond between Phabeni and the herd getting stronger by the day!😍
Phabeni has such long legs!!!😯 If he continues to grow nicely, one day he will be a very tall elephant bull!!!👍💪
Lammie and Spotty are cute too!❤
So sweet to watch them all pass by and taking a curious glimpse or interest in Phabeni! And Khanyisa looked absolutely huge next to Phabeni when it was just them! Wow! How beautifully these creatures thrive together under HERD’s watchful, loving care🥰🧡 thank you all so much, FABULOUS clip to start 2024 with 🥰🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🇺🇸
Phabeni is looking stronger and healthier!🙏💪😊👍
The way Phabeni climbed up on the wall to get closer to Limpopo was so heartwarming. The precious little boy deserves a big loving family. 🙂❤️
Isn’t it all the more wonderful and impressive that they never step on Khanyisa when she takes a nap at their feet? ❤️🐘❤️
Hai detto il giusto!
That was the biggest gift for New Year’s is to see him know his place in the world where he belongs feels my heart with joy for him. to want to be with his elephant family is priceless. ❤
Thanks!
Thanks for your donation.
Happy New Year Adine, Carers & all the people that watch this channel! Cuteness overload with Phabeni, Lammie & little Spotty. Love seeing sweet interactions between Phabeni & his soon to be permanent family too. ❤
Wonderful to see little Phabeni snuffling at the other elephants through the fence. Not long before he will be joining them on walks.
It’s so awesome to see Phabeni climbing up to greet Limpopo. Love it.
Thank you!😊
I'm trying to avoid the thought. I was so proud of him ❤
This is exactly what baby Phabeni needs, perhaps his decline in weight was due to depression? The love of the herd will give him the drive to live, eat & get stronger. He was particularly drawn to Limpopo. They had a ❤moment. So wonderful ❤❤❤❤
Super!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
hi, it’s the first time I’ve seen Phabeni interested in other elephants and it seems like a good sign. Maybe he misses his peers. Happy new year Phabeni ❤❤
You can really see how much Khanyisa has grown next to Phabeni. So glad he is doing well. Cannot say Thank You enough times - to everyone that helps rescue and care for the wildlife.
Awww reaching out to the herd ❤
Oh my gosh! Phabeni wasn't hiding in the reeds! He was actually reaching out to those big scardy-cat elephants. He even spooked Khanyisa. 😊
He's come so far already. ❤
awwe u can tell that Phabeni is getting more comfortable now and is seeking ellie companionship.. when they were all passing by he was right there curious and probably remembering his own lost herd... NOT QUITE YET lil one u still need to get stronger and meatier just in case rowdy Khanyisa put u to the test 😅😘🤗..
