Yellow on a Volvo was very famous, with the 850 T5-R station wagon. The interior looks more high quality, not because of the woollen upholstery, but because of the woven material on the dashboard and the upper door panels, instead of pure plastic.
So glad they still have fun colors!
I have been watching this video over and over the past few days and I honestly think I would choose this combo. I think the yellow complements the black details on the exterior very well and the wool blend looks very unique and quirky but in a subtle and high quality way. I think it goes well with the yellow and black outside too. I would normally think a black interior would be best but the grey brightens it up a little.

I love the yellow color. When I am able to choose the color in my reservation, it will be yellow.
I was waiting to see this come out but once I got my 186cm body in, that meant no-one could sit behind me. The rear space is really limited, unless this is a car for small-medium sized people. If you are tall, this is not a car you can use with teens in the back. The boot is a little small but that's fine, it's a small car. Once you accept it's basically a hot hatch SUV, you won't be surprised. I ended up getting the slightly larger (but noticeably in the rear seats) XC40 recharge, so I guess Volvo is the winner in any case :)
Kris, please consider not comparing this with the Zeekr X. This is a different philosophy of car and a different company and positioning of the car. Zeekr is a new company trying to make a splash. The Zeekr X is bigger and more aimed toward the Chinese market. This is a true Volvo with old-school Volvo qualities and philosophies built into it. This car is a modernized XC40 but smaller and less expensive, hence, it's not roomy. It's also like a Polestar 2 but modernized, hence the emphasis on sustainable materials. We've done the one-screen thing to death. It is what it is. But I really would like to focus more on the Volvoness of this interior. The door handle, the vents, the materials, the colors, the understated use of ambient lighting, the sound bar, the pop out door handles, the framed doors, a lot of the stuff in this car is very interesting and forward looking and I think this, more than the EX90, should be the blueprint of all Volvos going forward. Of course the materials need to be upgraded some on higher trims but they should be sustainable. There will be speakers everywhere on more expensive Volvos as well. But the overall clean yet livable luxury without being too "minimalistic" is what Volvo does well. This is really a well done car that shouts, but not loudly, Volvo car.

I have booked the ultra model with the rear wheel drive. The car is going to cost me around €53 K . I am personally getting seconds thoughts of buying. I have seen the car at dealership. It looks great from the outside but feels really cheap on the inside. The plastic used may be okay in sub 35€ K car but definitely not in a car costing 53€ K. Then it lacs armrest at the back, no rear vents, no vanity light on the mirrors and the worst no driver’s display. Please give your thoughts.
Is the yellow color as muted in real life as it’s in the video? Color reminds me of the 850 R. Great video as always, Kris.
In person it's very saturated and a touch of green. This video makes it look pale yellow which is just a color balance issue.
Does Polestar 2 have more rear seat room?

Guys, should it not be same color as the 850 T5R and not 850R? Or maybe they called it 850R outside of the nordic countries and I’m just not aware?

you automotive journalists need to keep calling out automakers like Volvo and Tesla for making their cars absurdly unsafe and impractical to drive without instrument panels in front of the driver and without physical buttons/dials for climate and audio controls... Stop the insanity! I can't believe that governments don't ban these cars like they've banned handling cellphones while driving...
No driver display is a dealbreaker for me. HUD as an option would be ok.
